Bus service was great, but one of the Go Bus employee, who was sitting behind the driver was very rude. was responding very bad for any simple question. asked for water and he pushed water bottle using his leg on my side i traveled on 2/18 8:30 am NYC to Boston

Driver's actions were not professional, not compassionate and not smart! My friends drove me to Alewife Station about 25 minutes before departure. I searched for the bus, walked up to the driver and asked him if I can buy tickets on the spot instead of online so that I drive back with my friends in case it's all booked or something. He says yes and asks me to meet him at the pickup location. I tell him ok, and go back to my friends' car to bring my stuff and say bye. As I'm walking towards the bus, he drives off 13 minutes before departure time! I was sick and had to carry my luggage on the shuttle then T (red line wasn't working from Alewife to Harvard) all the way to South Station to take a more reliable bus called Bolt Bus. My friends tell me later that they saw the bus stopped by a cafe. There's a Dunkin donuts in Alewife BTW. I don't know why people do things like that.

Very bad buses. Too much j*** on the buses. Peter pan is much better from Boston to NYC than this bus . Would try to avoid .

SUPER UNPROFESSIONAL. I showed up on time for the bus, and the bus never came. I called customer service asking about the bus status and was told that it left at 10:03, but I was at the bus stop by then already and never saw it. When I asked customer service to put me on the next one please they hung up. I called again, was put on hold for a really long time and then the customer service person told me the bus left at 10:01 instead and then refused to modify my reservation to put me on the next bus (even though I never saw the bus). When transferred to talk to the manager, the manager hung up on me too... would not go with this bus company

Don't use GoBus. I wish I could give 0 stars. This company needs much better organization and management. Bus was late to leave providence, the driver didn't know where he was going, he pulled over an hour away from NYC and refused to continue. He had worked a 12 hour day and an entire bus full of passengers were left in the dark. Went to call customer service and they were CLOSED! Finally, after a lot of complaining, we were told by a passenger, who had the driver call the dispatcher, that his replacement was going to be here in 30 minutes. We are so late getting into NYC. I WILL NEVER AGAIN USE THIS BUS COMPANY. WHAT A JOKE.

Did its job. Is it luxury? No, did it get me to NY and home safe? Yes Drivers were nice AND SAFE, bus was clean, passengers were all courteous and respectful (no knuckleheads). There was really no negatives. They give you a free bottle of water which is great too.

I'm on my way to NY as I type and this is my first time traveling by bus so I cannot compre to other bus agencies but I'm very pleased. Bus is clean and you could see it was cleaned right before we boarded. Restroom is very clean too. They ran out of hand sanitizer so bring your own. But other than that isn't very clean. We had two pick up locations. Alewife and Newton which is very convenient. It's Sunday 02/09/2018 a day before Labor day and we left at 7:30 am sharp from Alewife. We are expecting to be in NY by 11:30-11:45. Traffic is so far so good so hopefully we make it to NY soon. I hope you find this review helpful.

As far as buses go -- they are my favorite. I've been taking them for over a year now, and there are good days and bad, but overall -- it's a great company and I'm sticking to them. Their buses run on time, drivers are great, they give you water, keep their buses quite clean, you don't need to print anything -- just show your phone, if you need to make any changes prior to departure -- they make it hustle-free -- just a quick call and they'll refund or exchange. On the negative side -- there have been a few reps that were having a bad day, but all in all -- five stars.

I needed to schedule a trip and made a mistake, as I only got one way tickets and not round trip like intended. When I called to sort it out the woman was SO impatient and rude (I'm not the type to complain either I know how hard jobs can be) I'm only writing this review to let people know about customer service and if they need good customer service help this is not the bus for you. Too bad I didn't get a greyhound maybe this is my fault....

If I could give this service 0 stars, I would. I booked a round trip bus ride between Washington DC and Westampton, NJ. I am currently writing this review from the bus stop in NJ in 40 degree rainy weather. A bus was supposed to pick me up at 11:30 AM but no one showed up. I called them at 11:42 AM to check on the status of my bus and was put on hold for 10 minutes. The customer rep told me that the bus was scheduled to stop there but it did not and there is nothing they could do and that they couldn't re-route the bus. Now, here I am, in the middle of nowhere, freezing and all they have to tell me is that they will refund my $9 ride and book me on the next bus at 6 pm. Between now and 6 pm I have absolutely no where to go. For SIX HOURS. I was on the phone with customer service and did not hear one single apology from anyone until I pointed out how incredibly insensitive they were being. I cannot emphasize how UNSAFE I feel at this moment. Also very cold. This time it was an able bodied adult. It could have been a young girl traveling alone or an older person who doesn't know how to use uber and get to a different location. It could have been someone who couldn't afford to make different arrangements. Go buses really needs to train their drivers better and also their customer service representatives to make sure they know how to handle these situations which most definitely SHOULD NOT be happening. I would highly recommend NEVER using this service. The level of unprofessionalism is something I have never experienced and I hope no one else has to.

The ride itself was ok until we got... The ride itself was ok until we got near NYC. Then the bus driver (I think her name was Wheeler) seemed to ignore the GPS and stay on 9th avenue although it took about 2 hours to go 2 miles. Many people were frustrated.Worse than that, she was yelling at and humiliating a woman and her daughter who were perfectly fine. They were quiet the entire trip except maybe a 10-15 minute period when they seemed to be having a good time and were laughing. The driver yelled at them like they were bad 5year olds and made announcements to the whole bus by loud speaker, purposely humiliating them and another passenger who questioned her route. She also drive up on a sidewalk at one point. She was not patient, kind, nor capable.

We took GoBuses to and from NYC via Cambridge, MA. The buses are clean, they were timely, and the convenience of departing and returning from Alewife is tough to beat. I will echo other reviewers in noting that that wifi isn't reliable, worked on the departing trip but not the return trip. They get the full five stars for their handling of cancellation of our original return trip, due to a Nor'easter. No one wants to have a trip of any kind delayed or cancelled. However, GoBuses emailed us notifying of the cancellation of service a bit before noon on the day before our scheduled trip and asked us to call customer service. When I called in they gave us the option of leaving early, that evening, or at various times on the day after next. This advance notice and providing the free rescheduling options were greatly appreciated and what I'd expect from a modern and well managed company. They cannot control the weather but they can and did respond to it in a thoughtful and helpful manner. (As an aside, we didn't immediately reschedule with GoBuses since we checked with Greyhound before doing so. Greyhound was still allowing bookings for the following day and confirmed they would still be running service when we called to ask. So, we booked tickets for the following day with Greyhound for a 1PM departure. We arrived the next day at the bus station to find a note on the ticket window stating that all bus service that day was cancelled - no email, no automated phone call, a note on the ticket window, like it's 1980. The lack of any kind of advance notice that service had been cancelled that day was completely unacceptable and resulted in us wasting half a day getting to the bus station. The lack of advance notice was also in addition to telling us the previous day that service would be running. We ultimately refunded the Greyhound purchase and went with GoBuses the next day.)

There are definitely cheaper options to go from Boston to NY, but I find myself riding with GoBus for the convenience factor. Most of the cheaper alternatives, such as Peter Pan bus or Mega bus, depart from South Station. I live a 10-minute walk away from Alewife Station so I would rather pay the extra $20 than to transit an additional 30+ min early in the morning when I depart or late at night when I return. The bus drops you off on 30W St and 9th St in NY, which is really easy to get to in the city and it's a seven-minute walk from Penn Station if you need to get there. GoBus also has a decent loyalty program, where you can use points as credit towards your ticket payment. Note: They advertise free wifi, but for the majority of my rides, the wifi has been very slow for me so I end up using my data.
