They served me burnt fried rice. It was bitter and dry, had pieces of char that were hard and somewhat sharp.
Found a dead bug in the golden katsu sandwich take out. So gross and disgusting. I will never come back again.
This place is overall very good! The environment is clean, and the service is quick, which I really appreciated. The boba isn’t bad, but it’s not the best I’ve had — it could definitely use a little work to compete with other spots. I tried the sandwich, and while it was decent, it had way too many carrots for my taste. On the flip side, the cookies were delicious — definitely a standout! Prices are a bit on the higher side, but the quality and atmosphere mostly make up for it. Would come back, especially for a sweet treat!
The rice and noodle bowls are great and I always end up with leftovers! People working there are very friendly.
I wanted some interesting food in Boston and this was that for me. The presentation was attractive, and the flavors interesting and delicious.
Nice to have asian food at CX. Moat people prefer steaming hot pho. I suggest that Pho can be heated up . Or give customer hot water to her tip ( and dilute salt mess) . I like the store to stay here. I will continue to patronize them.
Dont get double meat on the bahn mi... Just do normal.
Working in a busy neighborhood like CX means that I don't have a ton of time for a bite, but I always make time for Bon Me. They have the nicest staff and the food is always fresh. Even if I'm stopping in for a snack, they're still on top of things and run a tight ship. Carnivores, don't skip the karaage bites!
The banh mi used to come with fresh jalapenos back in the day. Now you have to buy jalapenos and they're pickled, not fresh. No one appreciates this skimpflation! I go to places in Chinatown (like Banh Mi Huong Que) to get a real banh mi now and it tastes way better. Never coming back here.

I tried Bon Me’s Ali’s Pho today at their Cambridge Crossing location.
If you didn’t know what pho was, you probably would say you had pho.
With that said, what I had can be described more as pho noodles in a chicken broth base more like a chicken soup. Don’t get me wrong, the broth was tasty. Beyond the pho noodle, there wasn’t anything pho about this dish though.
The flavor profile of the broth didn’t have any characteristics of pho. The diced, chunks of chicken were disappointing. They tasted like yesterday’s leftovers with that refrigerator taste that only cold leftover chicken has.
Then there were the long slices of cabbage. Cabbage? This really made it more chicken soup, soup.
Noticeably absent were the traditional herbs that makes pho, pho real, Thai Basil and Vietnamese coriander. Bean sprouts were not offered. Not even Hoisin sauce. Just the over used sriracha that is being used everywhere like it’s some kind of culinary magic sauce.
Overall, if I wasn’t feeling well or was looking for a bowl of comfort food on a cold day, like chicken noodle soup, sure this would be a good option. But if I was craving pho, this would not be it.
- 2 stars for food as it was lacking authenticity. The culinary interpretation of this dish took out the pho, besides the noodles. What the pho?!
- 2 stars for service as I barely interacted with a human, besides the person calling out my name and pushing me my order. The iPad that I ordered on didn’t give me an attitude, so I did leave a 15% tip for the expeditious order taking. I bussed my own table when I was done.
- 4 stars for atmosphere as it’s in a nice location.
So, no pho for you if you’re looking for pho here. But you will have $15 chicken soup!

New Bon Me outpost in Cambridge Crossing.
Bon Me seems to sprout up wherever new office spaces do around Boston and Cambridge, so it’s no surprise they’ve planted a new location in Cambridge Crossing. For years, lunch options here were mostly limited to Tatte and Cafe Beatrice, so it’s refreshing to see a fast-casual Asian fusion spot join the mix. Serving a blend of Vietnamese, Korean, and Japanese dishes, Bon Me offers a healthier alternative to chains like Panda Express, though it doesn’t quite hit the same quality notes as your go-to neighborhood Asian restaurants.
For me, one of the best perks of Bon Me is walking away with a meal that’s big enough to tackle both lunch and dinner and pairing it with one of their refreshing tea or boba drinks. The K-Town Throwdown rice bowl with Gochujang Chicken didn’t quite knock it out of the park, with the bottom layer of rice swimming in sesame oil and the chicken a bit on the dry side. But thanks to the Kimchi and scallion jam, it was still decent. The Fried Rice was better—especially if you throw in some karaage chicken. The crispy crunch beats the regular grilled chicken hands down.
Their ramen was also solid. Not exactly traditional, but for a quick-serve fusion bowl, it slurped up pretty well. The miso kimchi ramen, in particular, brought the mix of Korean and Japanese flavors in all the right ways.

I recently tried the Scallion Tantan Ramen at Bon Me, and it was a delightful experience. The broth was rich and flavorful, with just the right amount of spice. The scallions added a nice touch, balancing the dish perfectly. The ramen had a satisfying texture and paired wonderfully with the other ingredients. Overall, a great meal that I would definitely recommend!
