Great cafe for working with plenty of seating. I come here every so often to switch up my work space. Great service and delicious drinks! They also have a store that sells all kinds of artsy goods and books.

Decent, no frills Porter Square coffee shop / book store / thrift shop. Good place to sit and chill out.

Was excited to attend their advertised chess night. Arrived to find a table with chessboards set up that had been taken over by people working on their laptops leaving no room for anyone to actually play chess. Extremely disappointing
Great cafe to do work or chat with friends. There are alot of seating area and charging stations near the window seats. The care has several options for pastries, drinks and food. The blueberry muffin 🫐 was very delicious 😋. The banana muffin 🍌 was also good but slightly on the drier side. The mozzarella pesto & tomato sandwich 🥪 was okay (like a 5/10).
There are also outside seating areas.
A few downsides: The inside is nice but there are alot of flies for some reason. The wifi has to be renewed every hour and isn't reliable so not the best place to be if you need connection. Also, the AC is pretty weak.

Cafe Zing has the best Chai Latte in town. Unfortunately their muffins are subpar.

Delightful cafe! I am very reactive to too much caffeine, and I didn’t realize the mint tea was green mint, so I had a reaction, but the manager was SO gracious and made sure I was okay and helped me get a different tea, which was kind. The prices are very affordable ($3.50 was my total), and the space is super homey.

Cafe zing is possibly the only remaining sort of hippie place in all of Cambridge. The tables are rustic wood and they're surrounded by bookshelves filled with books left over from the former Porter Square bookstore. Everybody takes their time and is genuinely friendly. I had a cold brew coffee which was just seeped right. The scone was equally good despite it being 6:00 p.m.
Thanks everyone! 🙏

Zing is my one of my top 3 cafes in Somerville. It’s cozy, rustic, corky and welcoming. Serving local bakery goods and speciality cafe , it feel good ordering from there.
It’s in a book store as well as a little thrifting store in the back
This space is great for a quick stop , long work stay or just a place to unwind and look around
Recommend if your looking for that local vibe

Come here for the drinks, stay for the community!
A great selection of pastries and drinks hot and cold, but also so much more - a work space, a community space, a space just to exist!
A great spot to do a bit of work, read a book, or catch up with an old friend. A big part of the appeal is the staff who are usually pretty friendly and lean into the community-oriented nature of the space. They also host regular events like musical performances, cycling club, and chess/board games!
Really excellent coffee. People behind the counter are very friendly. Can be hard to find a spot to sit sometimes. Outdoor seating in warm weather helps.
Super cute and cozy shop. The coffee is excellent and pastries are great. The employees were really nice and friendly but were saying the names of the drinks very quietly while there were a lot of customers waiting and the noise level was higher, so it was a bit confusing trying to pickup the order. Several people went up to ask and clarify if it each drink was theirs and every time, it wasn’t. Not a huge deal but logistically a little tough when busy!
Good coffee. Nice folks. ‘Nuf said
