We went for the oysters and drinks, superb!!!
Sam is the best!!! Plus the music was good & the vibe is nice inside!!!
Enjoy Charlie's classic double cheeseburger, and some of it's newer items too. Enjoy the staff's hospitality, they are universally friendly.
It has been a long while since I was ar this place so I didn't know wat to expect the service was very friendly and the burger I got was the best ever I will be back again
Just had our first visit to Charlie's Kitchen under its new management. Still has the casual burger and wings vibe, but with a more eclectic American menu. We had the Wagu burger, chicken wings with Japanese curry sauce and the incredible Hawaiian chicken salad...all fresh and delicious! The wait staff were all super friendly and welcoming. We'll definitely be stopping by any chance we get, especially as the weather warms up and the beer garden opens!
Food needed seasoning, the music was great

Old school. Do not expect attentive service, but enjoy the atmosphere.

A good place to grab a casual dinner while still getting the sit down, outdoor experience.

Came from out of town and had a meeting nearby. Wanted clam chowder and Charlie’s…has it on the menu. It was average (3/5). I’m sure there are better in the area, but this one wasn’t bad. Also ordered Caesar Salad (4/5, it’s hard to mess up a Caesar), cheeseburger (2.5/5, would expect a bar to have a great burger and this was not great, though there are the upgraded burgers on the menu also), fries (4/5). Service was fine. WiFi available.

I dropped by last night to get a double cheeseburger with bacon added as a take-out meal.
While I was very happy with the food, there was a pretty serious discrepancy on the pricing of the item. Seamless listed the price of the item as $12.00 + $0.95 for the bacon. I was charged $12.00 + $3.00. When I emailed the restaurant, they responded and indicated that they do not partner with Seamless, but they do partner with Ubereats. Out of curiosity, I checked Ubereats, and discovered that Ubereats listed the double cheeseburger at $10. Looks to me like there’s the same discrepancy. $2 instead of $2.05. Something sketchy is going on here.
All said, I’d definitely be back if I’m in a rush to get something substantial, but I’ll be very wary of what I order and how it’s priced.
Food: 4.5/5 - pretty good - would maybe be a 5 if the prices were consistently marked
- average, would maybe go up to 4.5 if the restaurant had apologized for the issue instead of doubling down
- bad. It’s a loud scummy bar, but that’s perfectly fine for take-out.

While we came solely for the $1 oysters, that is no longer the case and are $2 each everyday. Good thing we stayed because drinks were strong and reasonably priced for the Harvard area. We ordered the fried calamari and it was really good. Excited to come back and try other things in their menu!

My husband and I have been going to Charlie’s for some 25 years, because it’s an awesome old-time place with great atmosphere, but also very specifically for the buffalo wings. My husband, who is from Pennsylvania, is a serious aficionado of wings and always said Charlie’s had the hands-down best in the Boston area. Tonight we went to the beer garden and were very surprised to see that they are no longer offered. We tried the Nashville Hot wings & they were ok, but nothing like the old buffalo wings — PLEASE BRING THEM BACK!!! Also, the beer-battered fries!! (We otherwise love Charlie’s.

got a beer off tap with mold in it, got a replacement, had mold again, they replaced that with different beer. was told 'sometimes things get in the beer', gross. Wouldn't comp the drink even tho it had to be replaced twice. won't be coming again.
I came here with my friend about 10 years ago. Everything was great as the same. There were many restaurants closed around Harvard square but Charlie kitchen!! Hope business is running well. I’m sure to be back
