We always went to the Gourmet Dumpling House in Chinatown. We did not expect the new one to be the same but we found that in so many ways it is better. The ambience, staff and service is better … maybe because there is more room. We go as often as we can and here is our visit on New Years Eve. The Owner and Chef Xuehua seems to always have time to say hello and offer her suggestions on what to eat. It is advice you will not regret taking. We will be going again in a couple of days. See you there.Parking: We always find a place by dropping people off and driving around the back or nearby where there is usually a place on the street.

Saw they making the dumpling there. No wonder it taste so good, it is fresh, not frozen. Also, they must have good chef to cook the dish right.

My god this place is incredible. The food is out of this world!! The watercress with garlic is unbelievable, delicate yet beautifully seasoned. The rice cakes with beef and the soup dumplings with pork were exquisite, the highlight of our meal! The bathrooms leave a little to be desired but who cares with such incredible food, helpful, wonderful staff, and a bustling atmosphere!

Food was ok; a little bland. They did not provide us chopsticks and didn’t package the food correctly, so it spilled in the bag and the sauce leaked over the car seat and jacket.Vegetarian options: They have some, but they don’t taste great

Great food. Dumplings are so good. Best General Gao Chicken I have in a long time.
Food great and big serving. The crispy duck not oily and very tender. Huge menu. They serve wine and Asian beers. Our server very attentive and courteous.Very tight seating and we are seated an inch away from the entrance which can get too congested.Overall experience was good. Definitely coming back.

Very solid Chinese restaurant near Central Square in Cambridge. Good for a quick, filling meal. Food: We got the spicy fish, cumin lamb, broccoli veggie, and 2 types of dumplings. All were very solid! The spicy fish was soft and had a numbing Sichuan spice. The cumin lamb was our favorite, nice crispy exterior and a soft interior. I don't always love cumin but the flavors balanced well. The dumplings were bomb. Super juicy, super flavorful, and thick skin. Ambiance: This is a pretty standard Chinese place so there isn't a ton of emphasis on the interior. Great for family-style food 7/10. Price: The price definitely adds up depending on how many dishes you get but it's not too bad, especially with the portion sizes that you get 7/10. Overall would definitely go again!
We've only been in the Boston area for 2 years, but this is hands down the best Chinese restaurant we've tried.Service was very quick and food was excellent!

I visited here on a Friday evening with a group of three people. There wasn't a wait at 5:45pm, but when we left around 7pm, the line was out the door. The prices are alright for a typical Chinese sit-down restaurant, but I DO NOT recommend any rice or noodle dishes. We ordered vegetable fried rice, and it came out very bland and... moist. It didn't seem like it was cooked and seasoned enough. However, the dumplings were good, and the crispy spicy chicken was great as well. I don't recommend the Mapo Tofu here, but it wasn't the worst (just alright). However, the servers were extremely nice and patient, despite the restaurant being busy. Great service, just alright food & normal prices. Expect to spend around $16-20 per dish here.

Dumpling House is a stellar Chinese dining spot! Be prepared for a wait, as they don't take reservations, but trust me, it's worth it. The food is absolutely scrumptious, and the ambiance adds to the whole experience. Plus, if you opt for takeout, you'll be pleased with their prompt service. Definitely a must-try!
