I've been trying to shop local and fortunately discovered this baking supplies store near me. Small but a great selection of tools and supplies.
I also had a sandwich from the cafe that was great. The chocolate chip cookie however was partly raw (way too underbaked for my taste).
Honestly kinda overrated. There is never any seating and the food is just okay.
Adorable coffee shop/baking store! They have great drinks, for fall I love the pumpkin milk. Would be great if they added some gluten free options, would love to try some baked goods here too!
The best chocolate chip cookies in Cambridge
The weekends are when we get to go Out for coffee. Every time my partner and I decide where we want to go, the answer is always the same: Elmendorf! Their Barrington coffee is the best in all of East Cambridge. The store is adorable and has served us many times for gifts and kitchen supplies over the years, and the staff is extremely kind. A gem in the neighborhood. And my favorite part of the weekend. Thank you, Elmendorf!!
The breakfast sandwich was incredible! Seriously, one of the best I've had (with the bacon)
A baker's haven! So many interesting and specialty ingredients that are tough to easily find in the average grocery store. Selection of books and tools are also great. Staff was very nice about me asking for a specific type of Valrhona feves and were kind enough to go the back and package some up for me. Everything is on the pricier side but I'm glad to be supporting a local business as opposed to Amazon or a grocery store conglomerate.
yummy coffee and pastries!
Did not get the chance to spend breakfast but we enjoyed all of the baking merchandise😊

Elmendorf is one of my favorite cafes in all of the Boston-Cambridge area. The people are super kind, the baked goods are delicious (especially the breakfast sandwich), and the chai latte is smooth and cloud-like. On top of that, I love perusing the bakeware. It truly is a special place!
Phenomenally welcoming coffeeshop & bakery that specializes in a wide range of baking accessories, cookbooks, flours, gadgets, and even more!! While they do not (yet) offer any vegan baked goods, the eggplant banh mi can be made vegan upon request. The staff are so sweet and engaging; they are absolutely neighborhood friends!!
The BEST chocolate chip cookies in the Boston area! Also incredible spritzers, try the pineapple basil it’s so delicious and refreshing.
This is a fresh strawberry and matcha latte with soymilk. They use a real strawberry puree (not a high fructose sugar and red food dyed flavor shot), and it is PHENOMENAL!!! I rarely get any flavored drinks because I don’t want the fake sugars and dyes, but this is just amazing, and you know it’s real because you can SEE the strawberry specs at the bottom :-).
I also got a slice of coconut passionfruit cake. So tasty!
This place is fully accessible, but the isle to order is small, and also the isle for everyone to toss trash or doctor up drinks, so it’s a tight squeeze, but the staff are friendly and there is indoor and outdoor seating.
I will be back!
One of the best matches I’ve had anywhere!
Also, the use The Jasmine Pearl Tea company instead of MEM. I appreciate this decision :-). MEM isn’t awful but it’s not my fav and EVERYONE uses MEM here because it’s local. I appreciate the variety.
Also, not crazy busy at 9:30 on a cloudy Saturday morning! Plenty of metered parking out front, and a free table to people watch along the sidewalk :-)
What's not to love?! Great supply store, excellent coffee, sandwiches, and baked goods!
