Cannot count the number of times I've been here. Always good, always reliable. I truly recommend all of the sandwiches and pastries. But my favorites are the sticky sticky bun (ofc), cheddar pimento bialy, and curry chicken naan. Love that they have seasonal specials so I can always try something new! I wouldn't dine-in here: it's loud and crowded and there's not much seating. But great for getting food to go.

This place used to be much better.

This place sells pastries -- croissants in particular -- that are several days old! Went there on a Sunday at 8:00 am to buy fresh croissant, instead got a two day old one. Brought it to staff's attention, they couldn't care less. If you want fresh staff -- go to Praline (very close by) or PRB Boulangerie (in Kendall or Inman). They bake everything in store, daily, unlike this place. At $4.50 a piece per croissant, what Flour does in inexcusable.

I used to enjoy coming here, but I'm really tired of certain aspects of it now. I have been coming to this Flour since ~2008 and always enjoyed the fact that it was a step up from the other places in Central Square. And it's true, many things on the menu and from the bakery are pretty good. But one enduring characteristic is that the service is desperately slow given the number of staff they have on hand. Example: it took waiting over 10 minutes in line to buy a slice of cake and a cookie. The cashier takes your order and then you stand and wait for someone else to hand your order (which she fumbled and it ended up falling on the ground). The screw up orders frequently and you'll end up waiting for something that has been sitting on the countertop the whole time but they didn't call your name. It's just so terribly badly disorganized that I couldn't be bothered going back except my son likes it. The atmosphere is usually crowded and not particularly nice to sit in. The food has decreased in quality, though the bakery is reasonably consistent. Sadly, the one constant for Flour's entire existence has been how surprisingly frustratingly slow the service is.

Nice bakery and coffee shop near MIT. Stopped by while taking the kids to a weekend class. Was pretty busy around 11am but got a coffee and tea without waiting more than a few minutes.

I had a great experience ordering breakfast for a meeting. The website was easy to use and when I had to make a correction to the order it was efficiently done over the phone. They were very communicative throughout the delivery process which was much appreciated. The pastries are a bit pricey but they're huge, 1 pastry is definitely 2 servings, and of high quality. Everyone enjoyed them. Absolutely worth it!

Not trans friendly. It would be very hard to come back here after this.My girlfriend waited for half an hour while they called out “Christopher.” She finally asked what name they used, and was it a girl’s name? The cashiers said yeah, I got your name, I put you in as Kristoff. (Her name is Crystal.)She said no, that’s a boy’s name, you misgendered me.The response: well is all your food there?…..THAT’s your response to being told you have deeply insulted and hurt someone?(Also all the food was not there and she had to wait longer for the rest of it. A quick apology for the missing item, no apology at all for misgendering. No effort at all to acknowledge the mistake, or to make anything right. SMH.Come on. It’s 2024. Catch up.

The people that work there are nice but the food and coffee is way too overpriced for what they have to offer. The coffee taste horrible and the price of a small is almost $4 when it literally taste so watered down, it's disgusting and such a waste of money if you're expecting some coffee for an extra boost of caffeine, do not recommend, the sandwiches aren't worth the price as well..

Can't get enough of their pies, always a hit at thanksgiving dinner. I always get pumpkin and apple, and we never have any leftovers.
