My friend and I had the vegan tasting menu and enjoyed the food. The ingredients were of good quality and the dishes were creative. The cocktails were delicious, as well. The server was very friendly and accommodating. The staff came to clarify my dietary restrictions, which I greatly appreciated. It was a little too chilly in the restaurant (super cold outside, so understandable), but otherwise nice atmosphere.
They had one vegan dessert, but it would be neat if they added a second one.

Happy birthday dinner could not have been more fun. Creative cuisine as always - this time with Rhône wine pairings. Wonderful.
I came here for my birthday with a friend to try their vegan tasting menu. First I want to say how grateful I am that this is an option provided, not many places offer vegan tasting menus. Luckily my friend was able to enjoy the omnivore tasting menu, another thing I am grateful for- that we were not forced to be served the same one. I missed a picture of the first course with pickled vegetables, & I took the picture of my salad course a bit too late. We added the wine pairing & vegan cheese course- another thing that I was so grateful for & our favorite course! My friend is not vegan but we both loved the cashew cheese, it was delicious. The dessert was my second favorite. I ate the entirety of my courses & appreciated the seasonality. I’m mainly happy with the experience overall more than the dishes themselves which I had higher expectations for. I’d like to go back to try their vegan dishes on the regular menu. The seating was very intimate & dim but very close to other tables.

We had a really lovely time with family at Forage. Being vegan, we know there's always going to be something really great on the menu for us as well as anyone we bring. Everyone in our party was so impressed with their service, as always - the way they do hospitality really makes you feel special.
We’ve been to Forage twice for their Tuesday wine dinners and it has quickly become one of our favorite spots in Cambridge. The cozy farm to table vibe makes it such a welcoming place, and the food has been excellent every time. Thoughtful, seasonal, and beautifully prepared.
The staff truly make the experience. Ashley is the BEST - an outstanding server and bartender with an incredible knowledge of the food and wine that really enhances the meal. Mathew is equally wonderful: kind, attentive, knowledgeable, and makes you feel genuinely cared for.
We even spent New Year’s Eve here as a family, which says a lot. So much praise for Forage. The food, the chefs, and especially the staff are all top notch.

The meal started well. The opening pickled bites were interesting, and the potato–mushroom dish was a standout: simple, well cooked, and flavorful. The salad was fine but very basic.
The main course, however, was deeply disappointing. The omnivore tasting menu’s entrée was essentially a deconstructed taco—hanger steak, tortilla, rice, and a vegetable. While the components were cooked properly, the dish lacked depth, acidity/ brightness, and any sense of creativity. The flavors were flat, which was especially shocking given the price point. My friend’s vegetarian tasting menu was the same as mine, but included a spanakopita main course that was tasty but didn’t feel like a $40–50 entrée.
Dessert was the highlight. The chocolate molten cake with sorbet was excellent, and the mocktail was well done.
Overall, this visit felt disappointing for the cost. While I respect Forage’s commitment to local ingredients this menu felt very limited and didn’t deliver the value or creativity I expected.
Look, you're going to spend some money here, but I promise you it is worth it. The atmosphere was serene. Perfect for conversation. Nothing felt rushed. Incredible recommendations, the staff was personable, attentive (not overly), the food was inspired. Each dish a discovery. The kind that makes you sink into your chair. You might want to recreate these dishes at home, but you can't, you can only get them at Forge. There is magic in that kitchen. It was a most low-key unexpectedly magical experience and you should experience it for yourself.
The bartender and our cocktails were great! Food didn't match my expectations for a New Years Eve fixed price dinner.
Enjoyed a four course New Years Eve dinner. The rice was dry. However, everything else was phenomenal is texture, taste and temperature.

One of the best meals that I've had in a long time! We got the omnivore and vegan tasting menus with the wine pairings and everything was outstandingly good and extremely thoughtful. The services was also amazing!
Beautiful, intimate farm-to-table restaurant! My party of 3 consisted of a vegan, a vegetarian and an omnivore and we all left in awe of our meals. Very friendly, attentive service and a great wine & cocktail list. Will definitely be back (and soon!)

Forage may technically sit just outside Boston in the Cambridge suburbs, but it feels like its own quiet world—one rooted in intention, craftsmanship, and deep respect for ingredients.
This is organic, seasonal cooking done beautifully well. The menu is creative and unique, drawing from New England’s small farmers and even the chefs’ own vegetable garden. Every dish feels thoughtful, alive, and grounded in place.
The standout surprise? A vegan charcuterie board so rich, layered, and satisfying it’s almost unbelievable that it’s entirely plant-based. Even devoted carnivores would be impressed. And the halibut cheeks—absolutely unforgettable. Tender and luxurious, they tasted remarkably like lobster, especially paired with sweet potatoes and a medley of distinctive, seasonal vegetables that elevated the entire plate.
Service here is superb. Our waiter was exceptionally knowledgeable about wine, asking the right questions and making a spot-on recommendation that complemented the food perfectly. It felt personal, confident, and genuinely caring—not scripted.
The setting adds to the magic. You enter through a small, understated door that leads down into a basement-style dining room—but instead of feeling cramped, the space opens into something warm, elegant, and quietly high-end. Intimate without being tight. Classy without being pretentious.
Forage isn’t just a meal—it’s an experience you remember. Thoughtful food, impeccable service, and a sense that everything on the plate has a story. A true destination for anyone who loves inspired, conscious dining. 🌿🍷✨

Although many ingredients, it was difficult to distinguish the tastes. The plates were over-filled and overly complicated and not integrated.
