Great Italian food (especially the pastas, the eggplant lasagna and the pizzas). Very reasonable prices, including for the alcohol. Cheerful wait staff (at least ours was). Things move at a pleasant, moderate pace, so it's good to go there when you're not in a rush to get somewhere. We've been going there for over 20 years!
Felt very comfortable, good food, relaxed atmosphere. The local place with Italian food that I have been looking around for, one to go to on a regular basis. For once, a place that really feels like an Italian trattoria,
Quaint Italian neighborhood restaurant is as it seems. Tucked away and unassuming. Excellent service, reasonable portions, and feels like what I imagine as a neighborhood restaurant to be.
My group and I ordered family style and was able to order about 6 dishes to share. The pastas were al dente, and enjoyed the fire roasted pizza. Toasted crust and thin, had to use my knife and fork since the toppings slide off easily if I tried holding it up.
A good selection of old world wines and not overly complicated choices.

We’ve been to Gran Gusto 5+ times, and everything has always been phenomenal. Food, drinks, service, all exceptional- every time. They even have parking! Can’t recommend this place enough! I even saw on Reddit that they import everything from Italy weekly, even the pizza ovens, and having recently been to Napoli, I can attest that the pizza is authentic! Fair prices too - this place is worth it, and then some!

Our new favorite
Not sure what all the hype is about, service is terrible.
I love Italian food and this restaurant had a couple of vegetarian entrees which was great. They are also reasonably priced. I chose a mushroom pizza, but unfortunately was very disappointed. It was practically inedible because the bottom crust was barely cooked. I guess I like my pizza crisp and this was the opposite. Probably will not return.
Fantastic place for pizza and italian food in general. The quality of the ingredients is extremely high. Antonio and his team do a great job at creating a real Italian atmosphere in the restaurant. Very family friendly.

Initially not being greeted by a host/hostess was offputting for me and my seven guests, but our experience at Gran Gusto notable improved once we were all seated. Our servers managed to be quite attentive considering how busy it was. The ambiance was warm and vibrant, and the food outstanding! Everyone enjoyed their meal. I will definitely return with friends who appreciate fine but cozy Italian dining.

My family and I have been customers of Gran Gusto for many years. The food is always outstanding. The menu is not overwhelming with too many selections, there are enough to satisfy everyone's taste. The restaurant offers refined choices made with fresh ingredients. That said, if you are in the mood for a good pizza, they make pizzas in their wood burning oven. This is not a "spaghetti and meatball" restaurant, it is authentic Italian! The wine list is exceptional and the bar area is a great place to grab a cocktail. Antonio and Luigi (co-partners) will greet you at the door and share the menu specials for the evening. They often stop by your table to chat and will ask if you are enjoying your meal. Gran Gusto is my favorite Italian restaurant in the Cambridge/Boston area, good food, good service, reasonably priced.
My friend and I had a lovely dinner at Gran Gusto. The ambiance is very charming. The waiter was attentive and greeted us in Italian and even taught us some Italian. The bread was tasty and olive oil was flavorful. I had them make me a non-alcoholic fruit drink and they complied. My friend had a mixed drink which was delicious. We split the uva salad which was fresh and light. She had the short rib pasta and I had lasagne for entrees. Both were delicious and obviously made using multi step cooking processes by a talented chef. Portions were large enough for us to take home leftovers. We shared a tiramisu for dessert. The tiramisu was light and flavorful. Overall great experience. We will be back.
Terrific Italian restaurant with exceptionally fresh food, unusual wine list, and great service. It is such a luxury to be able to take as long as you want over the last glass of wine, without being brough the check. We'll be back.
Very nice neighborhood restaurant. We had antipasto with meat and cheese. It was excellent. Pasta Puttanesca was wonderful as was the Chitarra made table-side in a cheese wheel. Service was outstanding!! We will go back.
Ordered three dishes. Two of them were wrong. We told them we had a tree nut allergy and they sent us the wrong dish which also had nuts in it. Extremely disappointing and dangerous. Never had this experience with a restaurant. Would not recommend.
