Had not been here in a long time & my friend had never been here. We were seated immediately. The Waite staff was very attentive, friendly & informative. The food was excellent. We shared a pear lemon vinaigrette salad , which was superb. I had the lasagna & my friend had the sea bass, which melted in your mouth. The lasagna was great. We topped off the evening with tiramisu - it was so light & flavorful - made on the premises. All was accompanied by a wonderful bottle of Pinot Grigio.

forget about giulia, moece, etc, gran gusto might not be on mass ave, but is probably still the top restaurant for Italian and seafood, not to mention the desserts and ice cream, have been coming there for 16 years+

I can't say enough good things about Gran Gusto. My wife and I had dinner last week with our 2 adult children. The entire experience was terrific - excellent service and wonderful food. We ordered a varied selection; seafood, pasta, baked mussels, pizza, and meat and veggies. My wife and daughter are allergic to gluten. At many restaurants this can become a problem when ordering. At Gran Gusto however, they know what's needed to prepare a gluten-free meal - so, no problem. We can't wait for the patio to re-open.

Always reliable authentic Italian food, just like Nonna's and Mom's. Last night we were also surrounded by native Italian speaking guests, which added to the fun as we listened to them chatting away with the owner.

Worst service ever, I think our server was the manager, he went to get and cut the bread and he never wore gloves, the wine and water glasses were dirty. A lot of mosquitos flying around the place during a cold season. We ordered at the same time than the other table and their food came out first. Our server was rude, he didn’t explain anything about the drinks or food. It was a bad experience. Food was ok but I wouldn’t go back to that place.

We were craving for some pasta but didn’t want to go to North End. Our first time here and did not disappoint! Had the Grilled Calamari to start and it was incredibly flavorsome dish! The Pasta (Chitarra and Bolognese) that we ordered was cooked perfectly al dente and it was simply satisfying and very enjoyable! We’ll definitely go back to try other dishes! Antonio from Napoli was a great host! “Molto Bene!”Dietary restrictions: Dessert was Gluten Free Chocolate CakeParking: Parking Lot nearby available

I have tried this place 4 times. I wanted to love this place. I am not impressed with their food. Recently I ordered a pizza from them. The first time I ordered it was undercooked in the middle. So I decided to give them another try maybe it was an off day. Nope! The pizza looks amazing but when you grab a slice it immediately flops the center of the pizza is never cooked through. When I went in to pick up my pizza. The lady cooking the pizzas was not wearing gloves. She pours oil on top of the pizza when it is done. See the oil on my pizza in the pic. I don’t want oil on top! The guy taking the orders and cashing people out at the register also waits the tables. I seen him cash a guy out at the register and immediately go into the kitchen cut up bread with no gloves and serve it to a table. This is not sanitary. Also while I was waiting there were small flies flying everywhere. Meanwhile it is March the doors were not open. Where are the flies coming from? The other two times I ordered different menu items food was not good. One time the chicken was overcooked. Will not be back.

Living in Boston for nearly a decade with my Italian boyfriend, we've become quite the connoisseurs of Italian cuisine, particularly pizza. This restaurant holds a special place in our hearts, earning the seal of approval not just from him but from other Northern Italians in our circle. Their pizzas are exceptional, with my personal favorite being the 'Ore Pizza', adorned with that irresistible truffle aroma. I must have ordered it at least 30 times by now; it's my go-to comfort food.On our latest visit, we decided to mix things up and try their daily special alongside our usual favorites. The monkfish risotto caught our eye, accompanied by a few appetizers and, of course, the beloved Ore Pizza. The risotto did not disappoint – every bite was a delight, perfectly capturing the essence of Italian flavor we've come to adore. It's rare to find a place that consistently exceeds expectations, making each visit a memorable experience. This Italian gem in Boston definitely deserves a glowing 5-star review for continually delivering outstanding dishes and making us feel like we're back in Italy with every meal.

I love an Italian restaurant where the staff members speak Italian! Gran gusto is a neighborhood restaurant with very high culinary standards. We thoroughly enjoyed the calamari appetizer. Both the pasta and salmon entrée we would order again. The waiter kindly advised us for wine that matched our entrées, highly recommended! we will return when we are in Cambridge again

I was in the area for work and ordered a Margherita Pizza. It is easily the best I've ever had!

I am an Italian-American. I dined at Gran Gusto with my husband and adult son on a weeknight and we all agreed that our meals were the best we have eaten at any Italian restaurant in the Boston area in years. Our pasta was fresh and home-made. All of our food arrived piping hot and appropriately spiced and was delicious. The service was also excellent - attentive and accommodating. Both the host/manager and our server made us feel very welcome and not rushed. Further, unlike in many other area restaurants that are too noisy, we and others at Gran Gusto were able to have a conversation over dinner in which we were all able to hear what each other said.
