This place was a pleasant surprise. It's a tiny little place and you wouldn't give it much thought. That would be a huge mistake. We stopped here for lunch. The waitress was having a little bit of a hard time but her attitude was great and she got past it. The food was very reasonably priced and tastes great! Good portions, fresh ingredients, excellent service.Do yourself a favor and stop by. It's definitely worth a visit.Dietary restrictions: Vegan options

I ordered the French Dip, there are no toppings, the roast beef is served deli cold on purpose, with hot toasted bread and steaming au jus. This combination might be one of the worst things I've ever eaten. Maybe I ordered the one bad sandwich because our other food was good, but DO NOT order the French dip.The vibe is very cool and the drinks are cheap and fine, who really cares about this review but for real, DONT order the French dip if you've ever had one

A better than average place for a vegan and a non vegetarian. We had a great experience. Bummed about the lack of fries. On the lower side of cost. Our server was very attentive and just over all great! The place is as cute as cute can be. We will definitely be back

I haven't been to Grendle's for 40 years but I went back last Sunday. They no longer have a salad bar. The food was standard pub fare well prepared, and the service was pretty good but not great.Vegetarian options: We went here because they used to have such a great salad bar but the sound bar is gone. You can still order a salad

Iconic bar in the middle of everything. Whether you are seating outdoors facing the beautiful park during the warmer months, or at their cute indoor tables by the fireplace, you are guaranteed a good time. A crowd is a mix of mostly various Harvard schools' students and young professionals, who are all here for cheap drinks and great convos. They also have great daily happy hours for half priced entrees!
My husband and I were looking forward to lunch at Grendel's as we have not been there since our return to the Boston area. As we approach the front door a woman asks "can I help you?" in an irritating way and proceeds to tell us we need to show our vaccination card. There was no visible sign that we could see and wasn't apparent that she even worked there. Anyway, we showed our vaccination proof and ate at the bar. The food was good. We remember the old Grendel's, not the same.
