We absolutely loved our second visit. The atmosphere, the service, and the food were all cozy and warm. We are treated like special guests at someone's home. The fresh wood-fired oven bread is out of this world! The ambiance is wonderful particularly in the wintertime. I want to go back just to sit on the couch in the waiting area with a glass of wine - and that bread! Love, love, love this place.

One of the best meal I’ve had in Boston ! The meat was very juicy and the bread is homemade.
The restaurant was very busy but the waitress was always available and had good recommandation.

Have been here many times and it NEVER disappoints. Food brings us here and the service keeps us coming back. Great variety on the menu for everybody (my wife is vegan and I love the meat options). The ambiance is very homey and safe -- with the warm fire used for baking bread and some nice red wine flowing, this is the perfect place for any occasion.

Very inviting atmosphere. Our first time trying Afghani food and it didn't disappoint. The pricing on some items felt inconsistent. For, my meal, which included a lamb shank and a large helping of rice, was only a few dollars more than my wife's dish, which was much smaller. Overall, really enjoyed, and would return!

It felt like I was traveling Europe or Middle East right in the middle of Boston. That foreign feel was so unique. Servers were very nice, some didn't speak English but we somehow communicated and they were helpful. I am new to Afghanistan cuisine and the Afghan special yogurt drink tasted like a more liquidy version of one of their yogurt sauce... A little salty and tangy. Interesting flavor. We ordered Chef Signature Special platter for the group per waiter recommendation and it was plenty to go around and worth it if you are with a group and want to taste different types of meat without having to order multiple dishes. Their bread was amazing - fresh and full of pleasant aroma, probably with some herbs as well. I really loved the experience. The appetizers were pretty good too. One of them was eggplant and the other some assortment - I couldn't take pictures of the whole menu as it was extensive. I gave 4 for food only because I'm not used to Afghanistan food and some was bit unusual/unfamiliar to my tasting. But a definite recommend if you want the experience. Felt it was really authentic, both the food and the ambience (note the displays at the entrance!) though I will need someone from Afghanistan to testify this. Overall enjoyed my time there, will likely check it out again!

Good was great but we felt very rushed - waiters were always trying to take plates away before we were done

Food is unbelievable. The kofta was succulent and perfect. I’ve never had a better kofta. The eggplant was incredible, too.

The Old Fashion cocktail was undrinkable, though. No notes or orange or even decent whiskey. It was just bitter with somehow zero flavor. I’ve never EVER sent a drink back, and this was my first time doing so. They were nice enough to replace it with a Riesling which was fantastic.

Highly highly recommend! Best food and service in my recent memory.

Absolutely delicious food! Portions are pretty big, we got lamb kebab, it comes with rice and salad and it was enough for 2 people to eat and be pretty full and happy. The dish also came with sauces and complimentary lavash bread. Overall atmosphere and decorations are very authentic and waiters are very kind. Definitely recommend this place!

Always excellent. We shared the pumpkin and eggplant appetizers to start (kaddo and banjan), followed by two lamb dishes (lamb lawand and dwopiaza). Everything was delicious including the freshly made flat bread and dips. A nice bottle of Excelsior wine from South Africa rounded out the meal.

Great for date night and to spice things up. Amazing seasoning and everything tasted so cohesively. I love the aesthetic and looks fancy but still at a good price. The service was fantastic too! Best Middle East/Central Asian food i’ve had in Cambridge.

Fantastic dinner. We love the Helmand. Constantly exquisite quality of food. Best service no matter what time of night. Attention to detail. Yummy mouthwatering bread entrees apps desserts everything. I get the qabli pallow or the chowpan if you like lamb. My husband get chicken kabobs or beef kabobs usually. We like the appetizers and we usually get mantu as well. Don't miss this place.
