Best egg rolls in Boston
Don't be discouraged by random reviews you read, since I've been there 100+ times :) Hong Kong has been a Harvard Square go-to for the last 7 years (4 years at Harvard College and 3 so far at med school). The lunch and dinner combos are probably the best price-to-quality option you will find in Boston, with generous portions of vegetables and meat, and in my experience, consistently fresher ingredients relative to other cheaper Chinese restaurants. Servers are friendly and funny too. If you are a regular they treat you like family.
Not sure what the bar is like; I only go there for food.

The Yuxiang Eggplant was excessively sweet, which made it quite unpleasant to eat. When I brought this up to the server, they said,”We can’t do anything about it, our restaurant has been open for 70 years.” We didn’t order the dishes the server originally recommended, and afterward they commented,”that’s what you get for not ordering what I suggested.” I have reasonable doubt that the restaurant deliberately made the dish taste bad because we didn’t follow their recommendation. Very disappointing experience——WOULD NOT RECOMMEND

Good old school American chinese food. May be good to upgrade the tastes to the newer gen. Service is very friendly, quality of food is good and prices very reasonable. Especially good for young people to fill their stomach

There were patrons in the restaurant who seemed to enjoy their experience so I don’t want to be too negative. I will just say that there are more flavorful, higher quality, and/or cheaper food within a mile radius to enjoy

Staff is beyond unfriendly, better food for better prices in Chinatown, and the servers won't treat you like the scum lf the earth... Save your time, go someplace else.

Worst food imaginable. Scraps of hard pork passed off as BBQ ribs. Tasteless fried rice with nary a vegetable or egg in sure. Save your money and skip the Hong Kong.

A Harvard square good-food / no-frills / right price Chinese spot for students and tourists!
the bartender was extremely rude — yelled at us and then kept glaring at us throughout the night for just touching a chair so our friend could sit. later in the night we saw other people moving chairs with no issue from the bartender. otherwise the karaoke is fun enough but definitely be prepared to wait a while.
Really tasty kung pao chicken, big portions and good dinner deals. good egg rolls. Scorpion bowl was fun to share
Went in to pick up a to go plate but we were instructed to sit down before we could say anything. Told the waitress we were just ordering a to-go dinner and she took the waters she had placed on the table and said we needed to get up and go order and wait by the door. “Next time you say that when you come in, let’s go. You order at the door.” While we understood, it’s quite disrespectful in the tone she said it considering we were already sitting down & had a baby settled.
This place will dupe you into thinking you have the chance to sing, but you actually cant join in the karaoke without bribing the dj an absurd amount.
