Ive only gotten take out from Lanner and I keep ordering the chicken topped noodles (really should try their other dishes, but its too good to stop). Their portions are perfect to leave you well fed, though you will not have leftovers (in my opinion Id rather be served the amount that will satisfy me rather than be overserved). The dish has a compounding spice that, by the end, will leave your mouth tingly and numbed in the best way possible. One day Ill try something new, but not today.

Food: great Lanzhou noodles - authentic
Atmosphere: a bit small place for lots of people - perhaps imagine a small restaurant in Japan
2 extra great thing: 1) the server turned head away when we tipped; 2) food got served within minutes after ordering

great flavour, super clean interior but I have a few qualms:
- the soup isn’t hot enough? it’s kinda just warm-hot, and I feel that lanzhou noodles should be steaming piping hot
- the soup to noodle ratio is way off. lanzhou noodles usually have hella broth and these bowls r tiny in volume. plentiful noodles but def not enough broth to go along w it!
otherwise yea probs the best u can find in boston 4 better or 4 worse
Lanner Noodle has become my go-to spot for a simple weekend meal. I’ve dined there around ten times since they opened, and every visit has been a pleasure. Specially recommend the Lanzhou beef noodle soup and the chicken topped noodles. Also special shoutout to Celia, who has served us on a few occasions and is incredibly genuine and attentive.

Cute small noodle shop and delicious food! I went casually during work for lunch and have gone back multiple times sent. The braised beef noodles are fantastic!

Great flavor. Nicely seasoned. Portion could be larger slightly if I’m being picky?
The meat is sliced evenly and cooked to a good depth (not burnt not chewy).
I’d def come back! (And I’m Chinese LOL this says a lot about how good the food is)
The vegetable stir fry noodles had a leek-forward palate which I liked. It’s great to see such distinct flavor profiles across the menu, and impressive how well executed each dish is.

Restaurantji Recommends
food was super yummy! i got the braised beef noodle soup, which i would definitely recommend as the beef is super tender with flat noodles (very yummy!!) alongside a marinated egg. the service was good and came quickly as well. the restaurant is small, and the tables are pretty packed together with big chairs (you might require some scooting around) so it’s not necessarily the most intimate space but the food is worth it. the price is also reasonable, as a meal will run you $15-$20 before tax and tip.

Spontaneously decided to come here for dinner on a Wednesday evening. We got here around 5:40pm and it was pretty much empty. By the time we finished eating though, it filled up.
We ordered the Golden Chicken Nuggets, the Lanzhou Beef Noodle Soup, and the Braised Beef Noodle Soup. All the flavors and textures were good. We both got flat noodles but definitely want to come back for the classic noodles.
Got the pork belly noodle and it was delicious. Came here for lunch during work and service was quick and nice.

Food really nice and a lot of variety. The waitress is working really hard but definately not enough staff to get the place run smoothly. Long line with many empty seats and long time to order. Please hire more people.

I have been here three times and I feel the quality of service is not consistent, and the latest was the worst. My friend and I both ordered beef noodle soups, but mine hadn’t been served for 30min even after my friend finished hers. They eventually served it when I asked to cancel the order. I ordered thin thickness and hers was classic, so we were guessing if thin needed more time to be hand made. But it turned out to be like from supermarket, see my photo.
Also, there is no rice cake anymore. It was hard to call a waiter even the bar was half empty, but the default minimum tip is 18%.
