This place is always busy whether ordering or waiting available table to sit. But it's worth the wait! The food choice is great, and the atmosphere is fun!

A solid option for eating clean will on the go. Good menu with plenty of choices for all meal periods. The protein smoothie is excellent.

Life Alive is my favorite Boston staple and after years of living in the city and eating at every Life Alive, this location is my favorite. Though the food should in theory be the same at all of them, it’s very much not the case and I’ve found that more often than not at Harvard Square portions are always the size they should be, bowls are not as overdressed, and staff is friendly and helpful.

Their warm bowls are the star of the menu, and the best ones are the Autumn Falafel bowl and the Green Goddess bowl (I like adding hummus or miso tofu). Outside of this, their ramen, rainbow nori wrap, and soups are also good options. Their beverages are nice but usually overly sweet.

Generally, if you’re looking for flavorful, healthy (and/or vegan friendly), and fairly-priced food, you cannot find a better option than Life Alive.

You know this place has been hyped up to me and I thought that it was alright. Granted, I did get the miso soup. I know this place is known for other things so that is probably on me. The downstairs seating is kinda funky too. I am sure the food is good, I just wouldn’t get the miso soup again. This review is about a miso soup.

These numbskulls have symbols for Gluten Free, Vegan, and God knows what else but they DO NOT SHOW HOT/SPICY!!!
From pancreatic cancer I have certain extreme food allergies and I was suck three entire days because the menu did not specify hot red pepper (capsaicin).
When I stopped by a couple of days later, the assistant manager asked for my name and contact info...but I NEVER HEARD BACK.
I've known Life Alive since they opened in Central Square (15? years ago) and despite the poor ventilation there, the food was great and the people friendly. This must be YET ANOTHER FAILURE of the American "live to grow" corporate system.
SHAME!!

I really like the smoothies here. The food is also delicious, but the portion sizes are a bit small, so I'd recommend getting multiple dishes if you come hungry!

Food was great and service efficient. The lights are just a little bit to dark, it was even difficult to read the menu

Alert: mouse ran up the wall in the restaurant today. Yes, literally a mouse. Disgusting.

What a great menu for breakfast, lunch, or dinner! I would eat here all the time if my husband didn't make me eat other places for a variety. I haven't had a bad meal here and I've been going here for years!

Life Alive food was very disappointing, a small portion that wouldn’t even satisfy a baby. I got the avocado toast which had nothing much on it.

Lovely, cozy spot in Harvard Square. They have wifi. They have comfy seats on the main floor and downstairs. Great for catching up with friends or quiet studying. Also wonderful for lunch. My falafel bowl was super yummy. They also have a variety of excellent juices and smoothies.
