Cocktail: The Bam Bam was yummy. I had 2 đ
Apps: I'm a firm believer that bread should be free, so $10 for 4 pieces feels outrageous to me, but it was great bread to sop up the fabulous sauce from the mussels (in addition to the 2 grilled pieces that they came with). The chicken bites were delicious, and the green beans were very tasty as well.
Service: Our waiter Nick was great and didn't bat an eye while 4 women talked about perimenopause, and he even appropriately added to the conversation! I asked him what his favorite dish was, and I went with it-the gnocchi parisienne. The gnocchi was soft, and I think a bit grilled (homemade)? The pesto was different and delicious.
When 2 of us unexpectedly got showered with a bottle of champagne being opened by a server behind us, we were properly apologized to by the person who opened it, Nick, and the manager who took a round of drinks off our bill đ
Atmosphere: Lovely atmosphere. We were seated in the front room but close to the back where the band was. It was enjoyable, but a little loud as we were there to chat and catch up. The live music sounded like yacht rock to start but then was fun with a jazzy take on a couple of Bruno Mars songs etc.
Parking: Free validated parking a few minutes walk away is fabulous in Harvard Square!

Oh boy, where do I start.
Letâs start with good things
The music was amazing, the vibes, the atmosphere - everything was top notch.
Cocktails? Great!
Now, about not so good things
Maybe kitchen and bar were too busy today, idk, but it took us 30 minutes to get our cocktails. Food took another 40 minutes, fine. But when we got it, 2 out of 3 dishes were cold, like they were sitting at the window for the last 10 minutes. When we asked to take the steak back and redo it, we got back a microwaved version of the same steak
We were really baffled, but manager came to the rescue and we got a fresh steak and fries.
The food itself was just ok. Nothing great. Zero seasoning on steak tartare, really bland. My fish was just some weird mush without anything interesting, but at least it was hot, hey!
Would definitely check this place out for the vibes and cocktails, but thatâs it.

so excited that Boston has a new venue for jazz. Staff should not stand in the sight line of the musicians ( from the dining room).

Tried to get in and the hostess said talk to us for a few minutes. I asked if we could go to the bar, was told that âweâre kinda full right nowâ. Asked how long the wait was 30 mins. Took a glance over and yes the stools were occupied but there was no reason why a drink couldnât have been ordered in our opinion.
Bad vibe here and the 3 hostesses were cold young and glad we left!
I saw all I needed never wanting to return. Good luck Louâs :)
Much better run as its previous established without the attitude.

Lou's offers great food and a great atmosphere. We thoroughly enjoyed our drinks, appetizers, dinner entrees and live music. For the most part my party enjoyed a wonderful Friday evening. However, I wanted to note that after ordering a round of drinks after our dinner, we were handed the bill when those drinks came out without asking. Created somewhat of an awkward experience because we were not done and created a pressure to finish our new drinks fast. Just after we paid and were about to head out, the manager came over and informed us we needed to leave because our table was reserved for the party after. I want to make it clear, we were not informed of this by our waitress or on the reservation, but it seems like the reservation times are 90 minutes on busy nights. If this is true, Lou's needs to disclose this information online or in person. I really want to give this 5 stars, but Its very disheartening especially when you are continuously ordering and are essentially forced to leave unbeknownst.

The food was fantasticâespecially the grilled oysters, which were outstanding. However, their cocktails need improvement, as they tend to taste like either pure liquor or just fruit juice

Wow! Didnât know how much I needed Louâs in my life. The vibes are unmatched, the music is fun, the bar is cozy and sophisticated. Love the dirty martini and all the food is so good. Iâve been twice since they opened and love the roast chicken and the fried pickles and all the desserts! Great date spot or going out vibe

Food and atmosphere was amazing, came to the bar to wait for some friend, lack of service and attitude from the bartenders/management makes me not want to go back. Food was amazing and the restaurant itâs beautiful.
