Food was awful. Chicken with matzo ball had no taste, corned beef in sandwich was dry and stringy. I had egg, cheese, and salami sandwich and it was meh.
Very disappointed to hear they are discontinuing their gluten free bread. I used to love eating here - I work nearby and would almost always choose it for lunch. I would bring it home for dinner for my family too. Truly disappointed to know I am not going back, especially after the less than helpful conversation with the robotic phone answering service and eventual human.

My son and I came into Cambridge from South Boston because we LOVE Kibitz Corner (Mamalehs vegan counterpart around the corner). When we arrived the note on the door explained they had closed 😭 but to visit Mamalehs instead (this was not updated in Google maps). Happy for the recommendation, we went. When it was our turn to order, I asked about the vegan options I wasn't seeing on the menu (assuming they had options due to the note recommending we come here), and was instructed to "build my own" based on the veggies listed on the side of the menu. I remembered how the vegan Lox bagel was made, and ordered two for my son and I. We were hoping for more options (Kibitz Corner had sooo many amazing vegan choices- Reubens, vegan Latkes, vegan chocolate cake!). When our food came it was kind of thrown together sloppy with very sparse ingredients (especially light on the shmear). Mamalehs- PLEASE bring the delicious food and amazing service from Kibitz into your main location, we miss it and loved everything on the menu! Unless more vegan options are added, we probably won't return.

I used to be a frequent visitor to Mamaleh's - Kendall Square in the years following their opening. Hadn't been back in a while so decided to check it out again on a Saturday evening after seeing a movie nearby. My dining companion and I enjoyed the food, but the rest of the experience was pretty mediocre. It seems to be a diminished version of the original concept. Table service is gone - you now order at the counter and they bring the food out to you when ready. The dining area also used to extend to the back of the restaurant along the side windows, but this back area is now employee-only, occupied by a couple of refrigerators, a coat rack, and not much else--but still open and visible from the dining area. Also noticed that one of the booths in the dining area was being used as a take-out prep/storage area, stacked high with coffee cartons and other to-go containers. The interior, in general, just felt a little sad and neglected. Maybe we just hit it at an off time, but this visit didn't inspire us to want to return, at least not for a dine-in experience.

Go for: Delicious deli sandwiches and other fare typical of the Levant.
Avoid if: You are not fond of cream cheese and bagels.
Something surprising: The owners of this place are also responsible for State Park downstairs, a phenomenal establishment.
Reservation needed? No, but expect to wait for a table at lunchtime. You can also eat outside during the warmer months.
Overall . This place is always buzzing at breakfast and lunchtime. It's always a safe bet to eat bagel sandwiches with lox here, but there's something that feels wrong about paying over $20 for a deli sandwich and a soda. I guess they have to keep the lights on in the Boston area's inflated real estate market.

We went to Kamala’s to try in Somerville since it was 4 miles from us. Parking was $9.00. I ordered a corn beef sandwich a half pound which was $19.00 and my son ordered a chicken salad sandwich and a piece of chocolate cake and 2 dr browns black cherry can of soda . What I got was a pastrami sandwich which I never ordered in my entire life which was peppery and burnt on the ends . Being from Queens Ny I know what corn looks like and taste like . After 2 bites I knew it was pastrami. Either the cashier typed it in wrong or the guy who makes the sandwich does not know the difference. I spent $over .52.00 and gave a $5.00 tip. My son enjoyed his sand which and chocolate cake . I did not . Next time I go to Zaftigs or Jerry’s. They were not busy once 3 people besides us. Beware, you will pay a minimum of $9.00 for parking and as much as $20.00 if you are there an hour . Unbelievable ., how can screw up an order. Either way I do not recommend Mamalas in Somerville
Parking: You have to pay and park in the garage. At least $9.00 for a half hour and as much as $20.00. No off street parking

I got an order delivered for Rosh Hashanah and everything was wonderful and fresh. We ordered stuffed peppers (vegan), tzzimis, spice cake, halavah, and of course a round challah. They offered raisins or no, and honey and apples as well. There were varied options. Everything was so flavorful and delivered at the arranged time, on time. (Even tho I ordered at the last min.) This is esp great for folks who may not be able to cook currently (elderly, disabled, ill). I cannot recommend their food enough. Yummy!!

I had a delicious juicy pastrami Rachel sandwich on excellent rye bread at this place which I’d recommend wholeheartedly—if not for the fact that it felt like the skimpiest pastrami sandwich I’ve had in a while. I decided not to complain as I was starving and didn’t want to create an uncomfortable situation, but be advised.
Had 2 different sandwiches over as many days. Each was super delicious.
