Mariposa is one of my very favorite places to study and sip! The staff are kind, the food is fresh, and people feel present there. So grateful that this is in Central Square!!

Brownie was weird, Turkey breakfast sandwich tasted weird. Took over half an hour to get our meals.

Their sandwiches are pleasant. Nice when you have time to relax with a friend and some tea and food.

The quality and creativity of the baked goods is truly remarkable. Blackberry lime scone, earl grey tea biscuits, Parmesan kale treats, and so much more!!!

Everyone was very friendly, and there is an automatic door!!!!!!

I also love the cold water available for all.

Love the vibe!

One of my favorite bakeries in the Cambridge area. Pastries are always a hit, but don't miss the Sandwiches either- the veggie burger is surprisingly good

I didn't see any pork on the menu and that was a great feeling. They make their own turkey sausage so I had to try that. Ordered their Mariposa Breakfast Sandwich and added the turkey sausage. I also had a blackberry ginger baked good. I enjoyed everything. ☺️

Today was my first time stopping by, and the lady working the counter around noon was rude. There are no labels for the bagels and spreads on the glass display or menu board. When I asked her what the options are for the spread, she told me to look at the menu in a condescending tone before realizing they were not listed. She didn’t apologize and continued acting cold.

It is infrequent in my weekly local cafe visits that I accidentally stumble on such a gem of the industry; however, when that does happen, there is no better experience in the monotone life of a student. I've been to over a dozen of the 'best cafes/bakeries' in Cambridge and the surrounding area, and Mariposa ranks highly within my list. While the coffee is not extraordinary in quality, there is a delicate care taken with every order, and a no-frills approach to the menu. The baked goods, especially the cookies, pair well with the basic-but-well-executed coffees, and for that I can appreciate a place to a higher degree than somewhere with excellent one hand and a mediocre second. The ambience and service, however, is by far one of the best I have experienced, including not only greater Boston, but around the world. For such a well-priced and minimalist rustic establishment, I could not help but take note of how even a few hours after I placed my order, when I asked for a bag, the man behind the counter provided it with a smile and a hint that he remembered my name. This is one of the few places where I can comfortably sit and read for hours, without feeling as if I should leave space for others. A real gem.

Note: the Mexican Mocha with the Gingersnap Cookie is a delightful pairing, though perhaps a bit heavy for those without a sweet tooth.

I ordered an online pickup (3 cold brews and two sandwiches) 20 minutes before i arrived at Mariposa. When i arrived i was told it would take 10 minutes to wrap up. 25 minutes of waiting later, i went up to the barista again and was told pretty nonchalantly that she forgot about me and the order had BEEN ready. The. Rage. I. Felt. I really usually don’t mind waiting for food, especially if the staff is nice and i’m being updated in some capacity about the status of my order-but not only did she not say absolutely anything in terms of updates (she walked past me like 4 times 😭) she deadass just forgot i existed. Like Girl. The nail in the coffin was hearing 7+ names of patrons being called for sandwiches and pastries before i had even been told my orders status. Might go back and order in person but i am absolutely never ordering online again. Also that girl needs to step up her game 😭 tffff
