We took our friends from Florida to Nubar for dinner and it was a big hit! They liked the food (including the server's care about food allergies), loved the ambience, appreciated that it was quiet enough that we could chat, and thought the service was first rate. Many thanks!

Flawless service and delicious lunch options. We each ordered slightly customized dishes from the menu and the staff was patient and obliging.

The salmon was very yummy. The menu's quite modest, not a lot of choices. Absolutely nothing comes with the entrée, and the portion wasn't very big, but quite tasty. Service was excellent.

We eat at Nubar fairly frequently when we attend the American Repertory Theatre, a few blocks from the Sheraton Commander. The food is fabulous and is always served graciously. In the most recent visit, we had the Shrimp Scampi and the Sicilian Flatbread as appetizers. Our main course was an order of steak frites, served for 2 (at no extra charge). We shared a bottle of Oberon Cabernet 2021, a great value at $55. For desserts, we had the Armenian Almond and Orange Cake as well as the flourless dark chocolate mousse cake with raspberry coulis. Both were outstanding. Our server was congenial and attentive and gave us the time between courses to have private conversation and to enjoy our visit. We will return!

my son and I had dinner at Nubar at 6pm during restaurant week. When we entered, we saw a VERY loud, large group of people drinking at the bar. The hostess observed our distress and opened a door to a serene, quiet room near the entrance and asked is we'd like to eat there. Apparently the large group had been to a training and stayed on to socialize. I was impressed that staff tried to accommodate both types of patrons. Empty at first, new arrivals were offered seating in the quiet space as well. We were waited on by three different extremely competent and gracious staff, who made our experience really pleasant. The food was exceptional. My son and I shared our appetizers of squash blossoms stuffed with shrimp mousse and a buttery vegetable tart made with puff pastry. They were two of the most delicious appetizers I've had in a long time. Next came fish and chips for my son and a very rich beef rib sauce on pasta for me..It was so heavy that I took half of it home, and it was even better the next day. Really delicious fine dining...After dinner we took a stroll around the beautiful hotel Commander lobby...There were photos of its long history as an old school Cambridge institution. We really enjoyed our experience at Nubar and will return.

Food and service were excellent! Several options for gluten free diners, including yummy clam chowder, which is typically not ever available gluten free. The Caribbean salmon is great too!

Cerly was amazing. The gem lettuce salad with steak was fantastic. I even had the burnt sugar ice cream! Yummmmmm!

Very quiet and corporate. No atmosphere. Food was okay. Wouldn't go out of my way to go back. If staying in the hotel it would be fine.

Compared to other restaurants in the same price point, the quality of the food here is rather unremarkable. The flatbread was on a stiff kind of lavash that felt store bought, the chicken milanese was covered in onions (I feel that should be in the description for folks like me that don't like onions) and the chicken itself and the potatoes lacked flavor. Even the desert, a banana cake with a scoop of ice cream had ice cream with a stiff texture that wasn't very tasty. On the bright side, the ambiance and service was a delight.

Unfortunately salmon was tasteless and dry. Beware if you’re gluten free, some waiters are not well versed in what is gluten. Was given something that obviously had gluten in it when I was told it was GF. Price definitely not worth the quality.
