Fabulous dinner for our group of nine celebrating a 25th birthday! Service was outstanding and our food was exceptional!!
Did not find anything outstanding - all was good enough, just not great. Was also somewhat put off by the lack of vegetables on the menu. I get that it's meat focused, but a few vegetables on a plate or a side of vegetables would be much appreciated.
Great first visit. I had last minute complications and Oak Bistro was very accommodating. Menu was very interesting and our food was yummy. I had risotto and my niece had a grain bowl.
Excellent risotto with seasonal vegetables and wild mushrooms. Ample serving of bavette steak enough to be shared by two. Intimate and comfortable atmosphere.
My sons and I went to Oak Bistro on Saturday night after Thanksgiving as our last meal of our trip-my husband had to be in Boston for work, and we spent the week going around looking at colleges. It was the best meal of our week and we loved it (even better than our Thanksgiving meal)! I had one cocktail, which was seasonally-themed and delicious, we ordered three appetizers (well two of the same appetizer since it was small, and my teenage son said he would eat the whole thing himself), a special, and two entrees and two sides. Again, I have 2 teenage sons. My special, the lamb was fantastic, paired perfectly with mushroom risotto, and I tried the Parmesan and truffle fries of my son and they were the best I had ever had. My sons had the duck gnocchi and braised ribs parpadelle and both enjoyed their dishes. I will say the amount of rib meat in the pasta did seem a little limited, but my son did not share for me to try. Coming from the Bay Area, California, the prices didn't really give us sticker shock, except for the appetizers. $11 for three dates is a little high. My favorite restaurant at home in California does the same and it's $9 for five. You should at least do four or five dates so a table can have one each. But our food was great, and I've told my husband, who has to be in Boston for work regularly, that he has to try Oak Bistro. It was better than the restaurant he took me to for a date night (Giulia). I will definitely be back, especially if one of the kids ends up in Boston for college!
I'd never been to Oak Bistro before, but I am thrilled to have discovered it! The ambiance was perfect and they had a wonderful, eclectic cocktail and dinner menu. I was with a girlfriend and we shared four small plates that were just perfect. Don't miss the croquettes!
Can't recommend highly enough! Great food, great service, great vibe, all around a great time. We'll be back!!
Great spot for dinner with friends Menu choices were excellent, something for everyone Wonderful service, we had multiple birthdays in our group Fun cocktails Most important, the noise level was not too loud so we could have great conversations with friends
A wonderful experience for our first time at this restaurant! The food is a refreshing change from typical restaurants – everything was absolutely delicious. The service was lovely: attentive, kind, and truly caring with every table. Thank you for a great moment – we'll be happy to come back!
Maybe because it was a weekday, maybe because the chilly grey weather kept some folks inside: this place was quiet, calm and a lovely get-away. A bit pricy for the fare; but the ambience was priceless!

This was my second lunchtime visit to Oak Bistro and my dining companions' first. Companions loved the artichoke cakes and French fries but thought the Brussels sprouts maple dressing was a little too sweet. I enjoyed the risotto, though probably would not have included the squash. It did take about a half-hour for our server to appear. Though the restaurant was only about half full, no server could be found for a long time. Other than that, a thoroughly enjoyable and relaxing experience.
We had a wonderful dinner there and were treated so well by the staff. We would definitely go back if we were in the neighborhood!
The season drinks & ambiance really sold us! The food is really good & also changes seasonally. My friends & I already made a reservation to try their winter/holiday menu!
We had a wonderful family dinner here. They pushed tables together to seat 9 of us. The food was outstanding! The artichoke cakes, the gnocchi, the arctic char.... Everything we tried was really great. Our waiter was efficient and fun! It couldn't have been any better.
It's a nice restaurant. Most things will be or were fried. That's on me but it good. We had scallops and they were delicious.
