Our first time at the Bistro and it didn't disappoint. Full house with a lively vibe, speedy/friendly service, great cocktails, amazing food. We had the French dip panino and the papardelle with ragu and it was a flavor festival like we hadn't had in a while. Definitely going back to try other items on the menu!
I celebrated my daughters birthday They made it super special, the appetizers were amazing and main dishes were great! ? I would definitely recommended for anyone looking for an organic, petit, special place!
My boyfriend and I went to try Oak bistro for the first time as we had heard great things about it! The ambiance is very cozy with a nice romantic vibe - perfect for date night! We ordered the octopus and bison sliders to start which were fabulous. The sliders were extremely flavorful and juicy. The octopus worked really well with the garnishes and sauce that made each bite extremely savory. For our main course we each got a pasta-based dish. I got the potato gnocchi which was light and refreshing. My boyfriend got the short rib ragu which was amazing with every bite. I also ordered their Margarita El Pastor which was super fresh, definitely a must if you're a margarita fiend! Overall great vibes from Oak bistro and 10/10 would recommend. There's a lot of yummy options on the menu which is the perfect reason to go back!
I have already penned a glowing review for Oak Bistro, praising its excellent flavors, top-notch service, and inviting ambiance. During my last visit, I savored the PAN-SEARED SEA SCALLOPS featuring Roasted Butternut Squash Purée, Pancetta, Roasted Cauliflower, Braised Spinach, Crispy Brussel Sprouts Leaves, Chive Oil, and Microgreens. Despite the delightful taste, priced at $32.00 for 3 scallops, I found myself still hungry afterward and considered it somewhat expensive given the portion size.
First time at Oak Bistro. It was a great experience all around. All employees were so friendly and upbeat. Our waitress, Noelle, was a delight. Food was great. We will be going back soon.
This is a very good restaurant, featuring an eclectic menu, excellent cooking, brisk cheerful service and a varied wine list with below average bottle prices. Oak Bistro is in Inman Square, therefore finding a nearby parking space can be difficult, but then that's not a fault for the restaurant. Our party of three enjoyed the French dip sandwich, short rib ragout over pappardelle, and seared scallops. My only knock on the restaurant was that the portions were just a bit small, and we ordered a supplemental appetizer (hummus plate) after finishing the entrees. E.g., $33 for three scallops seemed a little inadequate, although admittedly they were prepared perfectly.
The food is excellent. High quality, fresh and absolutely delicious. The staff is attentive and friendly, without being intrusive. Presentation of the food is also beautiful. The space is inviting and very comfortable, the lighting just right- not too dark and not too bright. Even with a packed restaurant and soft background music, the noise level is also comfortable where you can speak normally and still hear the others at your table over the din. It's not necessarily cheap, but worth every penny.
Right from the start, the staff at this restaurant could not have been more friendly and welcoming! We were seated outside at the last table available, which was already a big plus. The hostess was over the top, friendly and positive. Our waitress loved our enthusiasm and appreciation of the food. We really did enjoy every dish we had from the braised beef croquettes to the duck confit and duck gnocchi, to the two incredible desserts, pineapple/coconut cake, and passionfruit mousse . Every single part of that was delicious!
Ate dinner here on our last night visiting Boston (staying in Cambridge), or we probably would have come back a second night. Great cocktails and cocktails, good wine, excellent ahi tuna & avocado app, and outstanding short ribs ragu and pasta. Good steak, really good spicy octopus app. Our server was Noelle; she was awesome. It was a little too loud when we first arrived, on a Saturday night, but quieted down after about half an hour. Otherwise a lovely place, and such good food! (I'll be thinking about that delicuous ragu for a long time.)
Food was great, as always and we really appreciated our server, Caroline, for allowing us to go at our own pace and enjoy our time at the restaurant. We will continue to come back and always like sharing Oak with out of town guests.

Had to provide a credit card to make a reservation and agree to pay $25pp if cancelled. The restaurant is very loud, the appetizers are so small. The $8 cornbread was literally the size of two munchkins. The $13 bruschetta (special) was the size of half of a hot dog roll. The $16 lemon hummus plate is a bit more shareable but very small for the price. Three short rib croquettes were $12 - very good. The summer crostini was not available. The water is served room temperature with tiny juice glasses. Cocktails were well done, entrees were delicious - homemade pasta dishes, scallops, chicken - all very tasty and beautifully presented but in the context of the overall experience - not enough to compel us to go back. Parked in the municipal lot a couple of blocks away for $7.
We thoroughly enjoyed our dinner at Oak Bistro. The food was delicious and the prices were reasonable. Our server, Caroline, was very nice and attentive. It took quite a while to get our drinks, but when Caroline noticed, she immediately checked on them, and they arrived shortly. The ambiance was lovely, although a little noisy. We will definitely tell others about the restaurant and return ourselves.
food was outstanding, service was just ok, they were definitely friendly and helpful, just understaffed. also, a specific request for a dish to be modified by leaving off the cheese was missed. simply things would have made this a 5 star easily. will go back.
We dined outdoors so noise level was what you'd expect in a city and by no means an issue. We had scrumptious starters and meals. The staff were all outstanding. Highly recommend Oak Bistro. We will most certainly be back.
Unique menu for both food and drink. Food was presented beautifully, and flavors complemented each other well. Duck portion was quite small. We had the dessert special (3 small tarts). The chocolate tart was delicious. The two fruit tarts were full of runny liquid that ran out as soon as we cut into it; the blueberry one was all juice, no fruit. I wouldn't recommend this dessert at all.
