Great experience. We got a few plates for sharing.
My preferences are Duck's Paela and Eggplant as starter.
Highly recommend 👌

Ok food. A little on expensive side.
Seating and location are great.

The roasted beets and butata salad did not contain burrata. It was regular mozarella!

The Duck Confit Paella was so good! Also the cod croquette and the tampers string beans, all delicately seasoned with a balanced texture and intense flavor. Would recommended 10/10 paying a visit and will be back in a few weeks :) This is a 5/5 spot in Cambridge and definitely up there.

The pork bao buns were delicious, the crudo was pretty good, but the other dishes (ramen, karaage, croquettes) were very underwhelming and pretty bland. I wouldn’t return.

Among the best meals I’ve had. Amazing vibes and great service, but the food is enough of an experience to eclipse all other aspects of this amazing place. The Kyoto Temple cocktail was incredible and very interesting, and all the raw fish dishes were so well balanced and innovative and delicious. This is fusion at its peak! Can’t recommend enough. Best restaurant in Boston imo

A truly memorable experience at PAGU. From the moment you walk in, you feel genuine care and respect — for the guests, the ingredients, and the culture behind the food. Every dish feels thoughtful, balanced, and intentional.

Special appreciation for Tracy Chang. Her cooking has a quiet confidence and depth that stays with you. This is not just a great meal, but an experience you want to return to.

Highly recommend!

Pagu operates with clarity, intelligence, and a point of view—delivering one of the more quietly confident dining experiences in the city.

The food is where Pagu separates itself. The menu navigates Spanish and Japanese influences with restraint and purpose, avoiding fusion theatrics in favor of balance and precision. Dishes are layered but legible, flavors are clean, and technique supports the idea rather than overshadowing it. Plates reward attention without demanding it, and progression across the meal feels thoughtful rather than showy. This is cooking driven by intention, not trend.

The beverage program complements the kitchen seamlessly. Sake, wine, and cocktails are curated with the same editorial discipline as the food, enhancing the experience rather than competing with it. Pairings feel intuitive and guest-facing, not academic.

Service is polished, warm, and well-paced. The room runs with ease, transitions are smooth, and staff demonstrate genuine engagement without intrusion. Hospitality here feels practiced and sincere—confident but never stiff.

The space itself reinforces the experience. Calm, modern, and well-composed, it encourages conversation and focus without flattening energy. It’s a room that understands its own rhythm.

Verdict:
Pagu earns four stars through coherence. Every element—the food, the drinks, the service, the room—moves in alignment. It’s not chasing spectacle or dominance, but it doesn’t need to. This is a restaurant operating just shy of benchmark territory, defined by precision, restraint, and a clear culinary voice.

It’s surprising how mediocre this place is based on the other reviews but here we are. The appetizer plates were okay. The miso cod was a small serving and the plate is extremely underwhelming with almost inedible mushrooms. My fiancé’s oxtail plate was cold and the potatoes looked and tasted like they were leftovers for days and were lumpy. The worst part is we were starving and ate the food because we were hungry and paid a lot for the food. I still wouldn’t have been happy paying half of what we paid but it was sickening paying what we did for basically cafeteria quality food. It was our anniversary and luckily we had a nice day but this was a tough way to end the day. Would not recommend coming here. Did not feel well after eating the food either. All around just a nightmare. Go anywhere else.

we were excited to try based on reviews + menu. overall, food was below average and disappointingly bland. it did not come out hot when it needed to and was definitely overpriced for quality. we got:
- chilled eggplant (6/10)
- green crab laksa (2/10, very bland, not warm, barely any crab)
- chicken karaage (6/10, chicken itself was okay - good texture but could have used more interesting seasoning, but the aioli tasted like absolutely nothing).
- -

We were excited for the culinary fusion but the food did justice to neither cuisine, and we left feeling price gouged. however, service was great!

We had a wonderful experience at Pagu. We were lucky enough to be seated at the counter, which turned out to be the best seat in the house —watching Chef Tracy at work was impressive in and of itself and added a layer of artistry to the meal.

The food was fantastic and perfectly executed. What makes Pagu so unique is how it beautifully straddles the Spanish-Japanese continuum. We explored both ends of that spectrum, starting with boquerones (anchovies) and ending with ramen. Everything in between was just as delicious. We were particularly impressed with the baos. I think that may extend the Spanish Japanese continuum into China?

We are already planning our return visit to check out the menu items that we didn't order yet.

Everything we had for tapas was amazing: Hamachi Crudo, Croquetas, Patatas Bravas and Pork Belly Bao

Wagyu Striploin was okay. Not as good as expected.

It was one first time at Pagu. We ordered 5 dishes and probably one dish more than needed. For 2 persons, if you have a noodle dish then 3 tapas should be enough. It is pricey but 4 out of 5 dishes were fantastic. The sardines were underwhelming. But we loved the tuna tartare, potatas braves, black cod croquettes, ramen and excellent braised pork belly bao. The service was EXCELLENT (water glass was filled quietly and regularly). We sat at the kitchen counter which I highly recommend for first timers so as to see the actions and see the variety of dishes. It's a return restaurant for us.
