We hit this place for a holiday team dinner and it absolutely lived up to the hype. Atmosphere, service, wines, cocktails were outstanding. We recommend multiple plates for the table, including the suckling pig, the ceviche, the pork noodles, and the tempura green beans. The cheesecake isn’t that great but the panna cotta has passion fruit and cannot be missed.
Pagu was absolutely amazing. Super accomadating...food was out of this world and the service was top notch. We had the best time. Thank you so much!!
My (now) wife and I had our wedding here a couple nights ago after visiting the restaurant several times for dinner. Chris and the team did a wonderful job to have everything go off without a hitch. We worked with Chris for several months with the planning and coordination, he and the team were so quick to respond and on top of everything. They were so responsive to any questions we had, budget concerns, and menu changes we were curious about.
The staff were kind and efficient, food and drinks were served quick and they were delicious. Many of our guests had food allergies, and the staff spent time with each guest to make sure they knew which dishes were safe to eat per allergy. Our baby nephew was also present and Pagu was quick to offer my sister and brother-in-law anything they may need for him.
There was the perfect amount of food, everyone left full and happy, so we cannot recommend them enough for a wedding! (or even just your date night/dinner).
We had around ~110 people and were able to fit everyone pretty comfortably! We're grateful for Pagu's patience and kindness during our planning and our night!

Hand pulled noodle class was amazing, thank you Winston!
Food everpriced, the portions are sad looking, no presentation, and so small. Noodles overcooked, saggy with water residual still in the bowl. If you havent try authrntic Japanese and Spanish food, this might be ok. The tomato bread was minusculous, almost offensive. My cocktail glass was the smallest size I ever had. No gastronomic experience in this place, sadly.
Fantastic food, awesome atmosphere, superb service!
This was my second time at Pagu. Just like last time I left disappointed. The meal started off with excellent drinks which was the one bright spot. Service was very slow and it took forever for all of our dishes to come out with very poor pacing in between. When the dishes did arrive. The food was rather bland which was very surprising for how potentially interesting this fusion could be. Finally, the food was WAY overpriced for the quality. This definitely echos my first experience a few years ago and with so many great restraunts in Boston, it's unlikely I will be back.
The menu has real depth and can range from fine dining to home style, from the 48 hour katsu to the deceptively simple pan con tomate, all food and drinks are created and delivered with true heart and soul. Whatever you're feeling that day, or whatever dietary restrictions your friends may have, you're going to feel accommodated and nourished. Whether you want to slurp some ramen or chow down mom's fried rice or have fancy crudo and wagyu, you can trust that Tracy and her team have sourced the finest ingredients, treated them with deepest care and if you ask, be ready to share a story or two behind the dish.
Absolutely loved Pagu! The food was delicious, the space is beautiful and most of all the staff were incredible! Not pretentious at all and clearly is a place that wants to serve great food both for the neighborhood and any visitors in town. It’s been a while since I went out in Cambridge due to lots of recent travel, and I’m so chose Pagu recently and have now re-discovered it! I’ll be frequently returning to this lovely spot. Thanks for the delicious food and welcome service!

Great, tasty, cozy place!
Run don't walk to Pagu for absolutely scrumptious food that weaves together Japanese and Spanish Basques Cuisines! A must order is the Tuna Collar - I've never had anything like it - it's huge, great for a crowd, bone-suckingly good (literally have done that) served with rice and nori! Also make sure you don't miss Tracy Chang's homemade nonalcoholic sparking teas - my favorites are the genmaicha and the hojicha - again I've never tasted a drink like this anywhere else. And then you have to end the night with a Basque Cheesecake - I particularly love when Pagu makes a seasonal Matcha or Ube Basque cheesecake! Pagu's dishes and drinks are across the board innovative but also welcoming and absolutely delicious!
We return to Pagu again and again . . . and again for the delicious, creative food, warm, welcoming service and lively atmosphere. We always order the wonderful Chicken Katsu (a 2-3 day process prepare from start to finish) and the Roasted Tuna Collar (an incredibly delicious dish) and then try a new dish or two. Shio Koji Roasted Corn is a new favorite. While the cocktails are fun and delicious, we love the new housemade nonalcoholic sparkling teas. The dishes are inspired by chef/owner Tracy Chang’s many cooking experiences - her Taiwanese-American home, her aunt’s Japanese restaurant, working at O Ya in Boston and Restaurante Martín Berasategui in San Sebastián, Spain. If all the good food and drink wasn’t enough - Tracy Chang’s commitment to the community ensures our frequent return. Pagu completely deserves the recognition it has received from the James Beard Foundation - how lucky we are to have this treasure locally.

PAGU is a fantastic restaurant that combines Japanese and Spanish flavors beautifully on a creative and well-portioned tapas menu. I personally love the tempura string beans dish, with its crunchy and sweet taste, trailing by a hint of heat from the chili and garlic aioli. Whether if you're looking for a nice evening dinner with friends, family, or loved ones, PAGU's atmosphere makes it an occasion to remember with the welcoming open-kitchen concept and receptive hospitality service. I strongly recommend this restaurant for anyone living near Cambridge, and even if you're not, it is definitely still worth to make a trip over. Pro Tip: Remember to leave some space and try their silky smooth basque cheesecake and the delicious tofu-based dark chocolate cake!
