The drinks left me wanting. I ordered the seasonal orange mocha and my wife an Earl gray. The coffee was hot, that's about the best I can say. It tasted warm milk with a hint of chocolate sprinkles. There was no orange flavor to it and I smelled the coffee more than tasted. The tea, was not Earl gray. It tasted more like an oolong. Absolutely the worst gray I've ever tasted (if it was in fact Earl gray). We walked up to the counter, and the 2 ladies stood with their backs to the counter talking about music. The gentleman in the back had to tell them they had customers.
I would recommend walking a few more steps and try any other coffee spot.

Pavement Coffee in Harvard Square has a cool space and friendly staff, but unfortunately our drinks fell short. The cortado wasn’t the standard size or temperature, and my iced latte was not good — I ended up throwing it out. The drinks were also overpriced for the quality.

Woman came back, quite distressed that she had been given milk when she’s allergic to milk. I suggested to the staff that she be refunded also. They just looked sheepish and avoided eye contact. Not impressed. Walked out without ordering.

This is a nice cafeteria to grab coffee, read a book, or plan your schedule. The interior is spacious and cozy. Be sure to check out the second floor for a great view of the campus.
I just had the BEST breakfast sandwich from Pavement - the bee sting on a rosemary sea salt bagel. Give it a try. SO GOOD

The staff here are so kind and patient and enjoyable to talk to as the first part of my day. I really appreciate pavement/harvard’s willingness to let folks hang out in their lobby /dining/ seating space, particularly folks who may be experiencing tough times. I’ve chatted with a few strangers in the lobby that have disclosed their housing insecurity to me. Even recently, when a woman was unsure whether her card would go through as we near the end of the month, there was a quiet offer of still enjoying a coffee if it didn’t. I’ve completely stopped going to the sterile waiting areas of similar places like Starbucks because we all need a little more community care for each other. As an aside to great staff and customers, I love (too much and too often) getting their rosemary bagel that they always hook up with lots of cream cheese. Keep it up pavement- you make me proud to be in Cambridge alongside businesses with staff that value the humanity that they can bring to others’ days. I hope they are compensated for the extra (and so so necessary) love they give others.

Good coffee and tea. Sadly no reusable cups
Slowest service on planet earth and they couldn’t care less. Waited 35 minutes for a chai latte how is that normal
The coffee was good which was the main thing. Took a while to get the order, but it does seem that they had quite a few mobile orders, so not that big of a deal. Lots of seating available. Worth a stop if you need a caffeine pick-me-up.
