We greatly enjoyed both our recent dinners at Puritan Oyster Bar. We arrived in time to take advantage of the half price oysters served 5-6 and then stayed for dinner. The oysters were the best quality and served beautifully. In fact all the food is presented well. I loved the cod in lobster sauce and my son loved the yellow tail tacos. A special green crab appetizer was delicious and served creatively in a large shell. Our server/bartender Kyle clearly cares about making the experience enjoyable and memorable for all the guests. He noticed that I wasn’t drinking my cocktail and he asked me about my preferences and then created a drink for me that I loved!

We just love it here. Had amazing martinis, oysters, and fries. The bartender was fantastic, recommended a really good local gin and the oysters can't be beat.

For as busy as they were the service was great. Loved the Swedish fish joke at the end, so cute. (You’ll only know what I mean if you go!) Great oysters and those hamachi tacos were deliciously spicy 🌶️

Amazing oyster selection! Great variety from all over the Atlantic coast and wide differences in taste and texture. Also loved the smoked fish melt with French fries.

Run, don't walk, to have a delightful, innovative, and wholly unique meal. My favourite spot in the greater Boston area, not just because of the care that goes into every item on the menu, but the next level service to boot. Christine is an absolute gem of a human and exceptional bartender, so just hanging out with her and the other staff is a joy. Get the burnt butter scallop starter, you will not be disappointed!

Can’t beat their oyster prices in the Boston area, big, salty and fresh too!

The burger and the crab salad were fantastic. The swordfish pastrami was weird.

Big complaint is the cocktails are terrible. Worse than unoriginal, they actually taste bad. Either bland and way too sweet, or taste like straight liquor. Expected more for $17 each.

Get oysters and have wine and it’s a great spot.

We popped in for our anniversary. Place was packed, but we found a place at the bar. Had the whipped goat cheese which was amazing, and had delicious crab pasta (forget the name) along with the pork chop.

Nate and Drew were amazing and entertaining. Took great care of us, and actually made us want to stay longer. They were even sweet enough to bring us a congratulatory/complimentary lemon ice cream that their in house pastry chef makes just to make the evening extra special.

Side note: fantastic background soundtrack

My third favorite oyster bar in the GBA so far.

I’ll admit, I’d long overlooked this spot, assuming it was merely an extension of Puritan & Company. Tucked into an intimate, chic space—less crowded than other popular oyster bars in the city—this oyster bar turned out to be a gem.

We came in for light drinks and dinner around 6:30pm, unaware of their 5–6pm half-off oyster happy hour. We ordered a half dozen oysters anyway, and they were excellent. They seem to rotate their oyster selections, and on this particular day, the Cadillac Mt Oyster was our favorite with its plump texture and briny sweetness.

Of course, we couldn’t resist the caviar cones. Visually stunning, the cones featured delicate almond-sesame shells cradling egg salad and a crown of caviar. The cone’s nutty sweetness paired nicely with the caviar, but the mayo-heavy egg salad somewhat dulled the caviar’s pop.

Since we were feeling more snacky than hungry, we ordered a bunch from their small plates. Honestly, their entrées seemed to mirror what’s served at Puritan & Company, so the small plates felt more creative and interesting. Of the four we ordered, our favorites were the Scallop Crudo and the Buttered Lobster Toast.

The crudo had a decadent mix of melted brown butter and tart gooseberries that gave it an incredible bakery-fresh aroma. It did lean a bit heavy on lemon zest but was still unique and satisfying.

Then the buttered lobster toast, which initially seemed like a refined lobster roll. Yet it turned out to be an entirely different experience. The clarified butter had a clean, almost olive oil-like richness, while the butter-soaked toast felt indulgent without becoming overpowering. The lobster-and-scallop mousse filling played a subtle, luxurious supporting role.

Would absolutely return for their oyster happy hour—some oysters, a glass of wine, and without question, another round of that heavenly lobster toast.

Celebrated my spouse's birthday here. It was our first time here. They were very accommodating. The food was great and the wine paired well.

My absolute favorite spot for oysters! They always have 6 different oysters on the menu and they are all always excellent. A little pricey but worth it for the quality. Half off oysters ($1.63 each) from 5-6pm every day!

The server’s expertise really helped us know what to try. I highly recommend trying several dishes and splitting them between your party if appropriate. The butter lobster toast was like a lobster grilled cheese with butter on top. A burst of butter, grilled bread, cheese and lobster in your mouth. Delicate and rich. The swordfish pastrami was smoked and creamy. It tasted like an upscale turkey pastrami. Loved it with the pickles and hint of mustard. The “stuffie” croquettes were fried and cheesy. Again very rich and creamy. The Ox tail with creamed corn polenta was so good. It’s a do not miss perfect for splitting. And of course the butter lobster roll with fries and dressed oysters were also a must try. Bacon, butter, beef, and seafood. It’s rich but very satisfying when it’s cold and fall is upon us. There were 5 of us and the fusions of flavor were so perfect. It’s a must try when you in Boston. T

L O V E L Y as always! Great food and cocktails, attentive and kind wait staff - we are always excited to come here for oysters and / or a more elaborate dinner. I highly recommend coming here!

What a fantastic meal we had! The food was delicious and had that special element of surprise- this wasn't your run-of-the-mill seafood restaurant. The service was great and the waiter even gave us a sample of their delicious lobster toast to try. It was a great experience and I'd highly recommend!

We were delightfully surprised by how extensive the Gluten Free menu is. Fried whole belly clams! Salmon Tacos were crisp and fresh. We had six 1/2 off oysters before 6 pm with a great crisp cucumber mignonette sauce. The choice of raw oysters was extensive. Our server was exceptional. He provided a special GF menu, got my husband a lower sulfite red wine from next door, and served us efficiently. It is a small cozy place, but they take walk ins and seemed to be able to handle the traffic.
