Wanted to give Fatima an individual shout-out. We were enjoying breakfast by Pavement inside the Smith Center and Fatima was cleaning the tables near us. She came up to us to say good morning and our 2 year old daughter loved her and they played together for several minutes while we had breakfast. Thank you Fatima.

Great place to come and get work done. I love the study spaces (especially the roof deck). Also the green corridors are super cool! There are public restrooms so working remote is certainly an option if you get on the Harvard guest wifi (which is decent). There are a variety of food options inside and a lot of seating. Most of the building is open to the public and the natural light is great for getting work done!

Love the "newly" renovated Smith Center!A great location for students to hang out and study. A good place for tourists to grab a bite and use the restroom (first floor and turn left). Most areas will require HUID access. Plenty of public seating outside and limited public seating inside. The info desk is always a great resource to ask questions and they also offer free tours!

Good place to get out of the cold & enjoy my Shake Shack that Susan & Leonard picked up for me while I was taking the Harvard Tour.

Formerly known as the Holyoke Center, this high-rise along Mass Ave in the heart of Harvard Square houses restaurants on the publicly accessible ground level plus university and health offices on the upper floors.A lengthy renovation in the mid-2010s led to its renaming as the Smith Campus Center, ditched the lively Au Bon Pain out front that was the site of an iconic scene between Minnie Driver and Matt Damon in "Good Will Hunting" (boston.com/culture/resta…), and created lower-key dining, study, and lounge-like spaces in the interior.Indeed, the result is less chaos out front, but also less energy, even though all the public outdoor and indoor seating remains. This is now a safe, secure place for students to study, eat, or hang out, as there's plenty of security everywhere, but it's no longer a touristy venue. Hopefully, for these students, even if they "can't paint you a picture" or "hit the ball out of Fenway" or "play the piano," they "can always just play" when it comes to whatever they're studying.

(Translated by Google) Newly opened after being closed for revocation for the last two years. An airy, multi-level place to rest with lots of tables and chairs. Vertical gardens populate many walls, giving the place a feeling of peace. There is an open courtyard and several cafes and eateries currently open (September 2018) with more slated to open later. Gorgeous building, very spacious with lots of room to stretch your legs. Delicious food, good coffee! Live student performances hosted once a week. Great selection of small bites (blackbird, Pavement, whole heart provision, Saloniki, Otto). Two story seating area for studying, comfy seats, outlets EVERYWHERE.

Great donuts downstairs, great place to study if you have access to the building, especially after the library closes.

I am a doctoral candidate in mathematics science and learning technology at College of Education, University of Massachusetts Amherst, but I am also interested in getting Ph.D. degree in applied mathematics at Harvard University if Harvard will give me full financial aid or fellowship ....

It’s a complete labyrinth. How to get in changes daily. The noise is horrible. The staff is cranky. The parking sucks. It’s been under construction for the entirety of my three years here, and it’s been awful.
