Slow, expensive, underwhelming. About as good as Darwin’s was in this location.

This is how Darwin's used to be 10+ years ago. If they could just extend the opening hours it would be perfect.

The lavender cream cold brew is so good ? They have a lot of similar sandwiches as Darwin's did; just a little more expensive, I think. I will definitely go back when I'm in the area.

First time here, nice vegan and vegetarian options with tasty coffee and plentiful seating. My open face sandwich was a bit small but fresh. Wish they'd use non-disposables for serving the food and drinks. Free doggo treats!

Great sandwiches and fresh ingredients. Wish cafe would serve all drinks and food in nondisposable plates/cups for less waste. I got my coffee in a ceramic mug but had to request it. Overall lovely employees and fun vibe.

They have their network set up to not allow a number of URLs from working, so if you have work to do on your laptop that you need the internet for, expect to run into issues. The coffee was fine and the barista was not particularly friendly (even in the semi-forced, hospitality dance type of way).

Tried for the first time and overall enjoyed the experience.Drinks: Mocha was well balanced and tasty.Sandwiches: Got the Darwin’s Mt. Auburn (turkey sandwich) and Strawberry Hill (beets sandwich). Both tasted good but were pretty messy to eat. They seemed a little hastily made (ie: bread toasted but cheese was not melted) and fell apart easily. People complain the sandwiches were too small, but I disagree. The Darwin’s was massive and the Strawberry Hill was a normal portion that would leave you satisfied.Atmosphere: cozy cafe vibes on one side.Prices: Felt a little high for lunch sandwiches but experience was positive enough that I felt like I’d gotten good value.Would return!

Some of the best espresso drinks in the Boston area. The barista was bombarded w orders, yet still kept a friendly and professional manner. The sandwiches were as ordered and delicious. We tried the Kendall, the cinnamon delight and the peppermint mocha. As for previous reviewers complaining about "low energy bagels"...What does that even mean!? Its a cafe. The environment was fine.

Great little cafe I popped into while my wife was at Mount Auburn after she had a baby. Nice fund a little outside of the traditional Harvard Square coffee joints.

Wow, finally a quality and adventurous sandwich place with vegan and vegetarian options. Delightful with long selection of breads. The vegan chocolate chip collie was also a treat. The coffee is super and the baristas and service is super friendly. Plenty of seating and very warm atmosphere.

Very low energy place, so different from the Darwin's of old. Everything is the same they didn't change a single thing all the rickety tables and benches are untouched. Consistent with who they project to be, low energy and not really interested in improving any of their offerings or environment. Even at peak times there are maybe 2 or 3 locals here, nobody from college seems to want to go anymore, sad bc it used to be a thriving location. Coffee was fine, bagel was low energy and stale with maybe a teaspoon of cream cheese. Looks like they won't last long

This is one of the nicest places in Cambridge to sit, converse with a friend, etc, and the people behind the counter seem quite nice, and they even let you bring your dog in. I always come for the espresso and milk (equal amounts of each), and unfortunately, while the espresso is drinkable, it does tastes a bit muddy, which is not good. The three stars reflects only the espresso. I haven't had the regular coffee, so it doesn't reflect that, either. The ambience and the servers are worth five stars. I hope they can figure out how to improve the espresso.

The sandwiches are great. Similar menu to before. They offer gluten-free bread and seem to understand cross contamination concerns.

Roust purchased Darwin's, a coffee shop, about an year ago. This is the first time that I was able to check it out. It is very similar but I did notice that there are new table. It is split with the coffee shop on one side and the delivery that offers sandwiches on the other. I would squeeze in another table so there was more seating. They do have wi-fi with a lot of people taking advantage of this feature. It had a nice atmosphere with music playing in the background. I would certainly recommend this place if someone wanted a bite to eat or a cup of coffee.
