As a New Yorker this is one of the VERY few places that remind me of home. It’s definitely your old school no frills Italian pastry shop and I’m seeing a lot of comments about customer service but honestly I’ve never had an issue. You’re not going to get a super peppy welcome but that’s just not the vibe of this place, but you also aren’t handed a tablet and expected to tip 25% of your order. The prices are unmatched- something I really missed as the other shops I’ve tried charge $9 a cannoli. I’ve tried the cannolis, cheesecakes, lobster tail, cheese danish, tiramisu and carrot cake. The photo I’ve included was $13 for everything.
Pretty disappointing. I went at 9:30am on a Saturday in hopes of getting a fresh lobster tail. The case was full of them but, at least the one I got, was stale and soggy. It’s clear that the lobster tail I got had been sitting in the case for a while, which was surprising considering it was early on a Saturday morning.
If i could leave 0 stars, i would. When you first walk in, the employees sit there and just look at you like you are an alien. No greeting or anything. This visit, one employee was blonde and the other had darker hair with glasses. Not a thing is labeled. When i asked the blonde girl what something was, she got upset and spoke to me like i was an idiot. I called a red-colored danish “strawberry” and the blonde girl made a disgusted face at me as if i insulted her. How would i know that it was cherry? Honestly, the stuff wasn’t very good. Hard like wood. No telling how long that stuff was sitting out. Honestly, get your pastries elsewhere!

This is our go to bakery. Everything is delicious. Ordered a rum cake for dessert. It was great and the prices are amazing. The staff is very friendly. Thank you Royal Pastry. You are the best and I’ve been to the other two in the North End so many times too

I'm disappointed in the Italian pastries. They look nice however the flavor of many are off. As if they are missing something. Sometimes they take on the flavor of the refrigerator. My family didn't enjoy any of the pastries I bought. We woke up with stomach aches this morning. I'm going to stay with Modern pastry of Medford. Much better.
It's to bad their pastries have an off flavor because it is a nice looking bakery, unfortunately looks can be deceiving. The Canolies would be the only choice that taste pretty good.
Kid-friendliness: Kids are welcome.

I am very disappointed on the artistry on the cake. I ordered a heart cake and sent a picture of what I would like which had cursive writing. Why is it when I pick up the cake it’s standard writing. Then when I go back to ask to fix the wringing this older woman had said “no we can’t do it” without even offering a solutions or hearing me out . I never been to a bakery that only had one artist to design cake. The cake was so simple but still managed to mess up.
