I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone. The service is BEYOND RUDE, and the food was less than average. None of our food came out together, so we weren't even able to eat together.

Grew up in Inman Sq and came here all the time but wow, has it fallen off. Came back with my whole family 25 years later and everything we had was awful. None of the seven of us liked our food- bland, greasy, odd tasting. The restaurant was dirty. A side of fries now costs $10. Service was good though. Also all bread products made in factory with possible nut cross-contamination.

LITRALLY the best wings I've ever had. These were so delicious and I got them takeout and they still were fresh and traveled well.

It's been a very long time since I went to S&S. It did not disappoint. Good as I remember.

A nostalgic deli experience in Inman Square. As the oldest restaurant in Cambridge, S&S has cemented its status as a beloved local spot that serves a wide range of classic deli fares. l came here for lunch a few times and always had a satisfying experience.Among the appetizers, the Chopped Liver was my favorite. Although it was unexpectedly paired with pineapple and melon slices - a combination that didn't entirely complement the inherent sweetness of the liver spread - it was still enjoyable when paired with crackers and red onions. Bathed in their signature sauce, the S&S Fried Shrimp was also good. The sauce leaned more towards sweet rather than spicy, but the jumbo shrimp was still nice and crispy. The Seared Tuna Salad was fairly basic, but with its generous portions, it was an ideal choice for a hearty meal. Corned Beef Reuben came with perfectly toasted marble rye bread, and the corned beef itself was solid. One of the biggest perk of S&S is their own free parking lot, but empty spaces might be hard to come by during peak lunch hours.Overall, a great spot that provides a slice of the city’s culinary history with the timeless appeal of a classic deli. If you’re looking for a comforting meal with a warm, nostalgic atmosphere, I highly recommend giving them a try.Parking: Free street parking lot (enter via Hampshire st)Paid parking lot next to Olé (Springfield st)Paid street parking on Cambridge St & Hampshire st

To go is stingy. I dont know how I can be charged 9.58 on a hummus pita sandwich (to go) advertised on the menu as 7.95! That is upwards of 20% tax!!! Did someone give themselves a tip? It was packaged in plastic, with a plastic fork (for a sandwich!)They dont care about the environment at all! They could have just wrapped it in tin foil and put it in a paper bag... why all this pollution? The pocket had a big gob of hummus at the top but dry lettuce tomato and onion at the bottom, so the first bites were nothing but hummus then you were just eating dry salad. It came with a tiny HALF OUNCE bag of chips with like one chip and a few crumbs. And a half of a pickle that tasted really gross and questionable, so I spat it out and didnt eat that. I got charged like 10 bucks and polluted the environment for several thousand years. Thanks. The other time I sat down and had fish and fries which was bland and just ok. It was supposed to be 17 something, wound up 19 something almost 20 (thats a little more normal not like that 1.60 something price hike of the hummus pita...with the fish and fries I added a 5 dollar tip so it was 25 total. I was also offered that plastic container for my leftovers which I didnt take, I just wrapped it up in my napkin. I wont come again. I could have gone to an indian food place and had a good meal with the money I spent here.

What a staple in the Cambridge community! I've been going to s&s for over 20 years and they have always been consistent in quality food, service, and cleanliness! They have both a deli and a dining area. I dined there today for lunch and got the baked haddock with mash potatoes and vegetables. Omg, the portion was large, freshly cooked and delicious! The waitstaff was also very polite and helpful! Please make sure to visit if you are in the area!

No.No.No.No.No So extremely disappointed and I'm sad I've been eating S&S food since before birth = ALWAYS THE BEST Until lately I'm not sure why I have given them enough chances as late, but for maybe more than a year now, the food has been disappointing Most notably, the take out I'm done I will not spend anymore of my hard earned money at this place It ain't a cheap place Today we ordered a mess of food for the office First of all, trying to get through to place the order was a nightmare I know it's lunchtime, but hey Amy, one person can't do it The young lady working, was doing an excellent job Tried 6x to get through Order 2 S&S boneless wings, soup, salad, pizza, sandwiches, entrees, dessert My favorite thing, the wings, they were not boneless wings at all. They were dried out overcooked under & over-sauced pieces. It was like the leftover bits And the sauce was NOT the sauce of the last 40years. No way, no how The wing place on Somerville Ave could've done a better job It's to bad cause S&S is close and part of the family but I can not justify me remaining a customer Do better for your long time customers S&S Do better for the prices you charge S&S It's a sad time for me to write this about a once favorite spot

Went here for breakfast with the family and was gravely disappointed. Server was quite short with us and rude. Food was mediocre at best. While Ma’s Pizza and the Tenderloin Tips were pretty tasty, both of the Omelettes were not. Inman Omelette used Velveeta cheese and had no flavor. Coffee tasted like dirt. Would not recommend, given the quality of the options in the vicinity.
