Had an awesome time at Soup Shack in Porter Square! Kevin, our server, was super cool and made us feel right at home. Everyone there was just so friendly, making the whole vibe really laid-back and welcoming. Now, let’s talk about the ramen – it was killer! The broth was on point, and they even had homemade kimchi that added just the right kick. But the real game changer? The marinated egg. They actually take the time to marinate it, and you can totally taste the difference. It’s those little touches that make me love this place. If you’re around Porter Square and craving some legit ramen, hit up Soup Shack. Great food, cool people, and an all-around chill spot.

A quick noodle fix with a fusion twist. As a casual noodle bar chain, Soup Shack offers a variety of Asian noodles and light Japanese bites. While the Porter Square area is full of excellent Japanese fast food options, Soup Shack stands out for its eclectic mix of Asian noodle dishes, ranging from Thai noodles and Pho to Ramen, all served with impressive speed – usually within five minutes. The appetizers I tried were solid. The Agedashi Tofu and Chicken Karaage were both executed well. However, the entrées were either hit or miss. Sautéed in spicy garlic sauce, the Spicy Cha She was an enjoyable dish. The dirty ramen and tonkatsu ramen, on the other hand, had a peculiar sweet aftertaste that made it feel like an unexpected Thai-Japanese fusion. This somewhat overshadowed the savoriness of the broth, so it was slightly off-putting for me.Soup Shack is still an ideal spot if you’re looking for a quick, no-frills meal. Not sure if I would try their noodles again, but I might drop by for their other entrées.Parking: Free plaza parking lot

Got edamame a rice bowl with roasted duck to go. The bowl had nice big chunks of duck and fresh vegetables, tasted delicious. Everything was prepared very quickly and at a good price.

Ordered takeout for the first time. Very mixed feelings.Seaweed salad was excellent - good flavor, good size for price, seemed fresh.Gyoza quite average - nothing I would seek out, but good enough to finish.Pho was ehhh - chicken was dry (could pass as overcooked turkey), the lime provided was already squeezed (and no, it wasn’t pre-squeezed for me, the sprouts and leaves in the bag with the lime were dry and did not smell of lime), not provided sriracha sauce, and small portion compared to others in the area.Charged for a bag without warning or given an option - I would have carried it bagless if I knew (although, it’s possible the warning was on a sign, I didn’t look around for it).Was going to rate 2 but the guy was nice and customer service is valuable, so bumped up to 3.

Very good service! My Tonkotsu ramen was surprisingly authentic but more like ramen you would get in Japan at like a cafeteria or on a ferry. Still good but half the price. The karaage was very good! Not super authentic but definitely made with care and had great flavor. My lemon looked like it was cut last week though.

Fantastic service, our meals came out quickly. The chicken curry we ordered was scrumptious, with a lot of interesting spices. The tonkotsu ramen was alright, we felt that there was an overpowering amount of fish sauce and the flavors of the pork were virtually non-existent. Prices were standard for the area. Overall, a great restaurant - we look forward to coming back.

This is a quick service takeout joint more than an eat-in place, though they have some booths inside and in summer they have tables outside. I’ve had mixed experiences with the food here. The wontons are pretty good but the ramen was really flavorless. I went back a few times to see if it changed and the broth and noodles just didn’t have a lot of flavor at all. I guess if you put a lot of hot chili sauce in maybe you can’t tell, but I prefer my ramen not that spicy. With so many other ramen options nearby I haven’t been tempted to try again. (A friend who loves wontons swears by their big bowl of wonton soup though.)Parking: Restaurant is in the Porter shopping center and shares the big parking lot with Star Market and CVS.

I love their ramen and their chicken, carrot, zucchini and rice dish. My father orders from here for dinner a lot. Their food is delicious. Strongly recommend. Went here with a family friend.
