Great atmosphere and food; prices weren't cheap by any means but weren't unreasonable. The service was simply spectacular though, enough that even if the food wasn't as good as it is, I would have still given 5 stars.

My wife and I live close by and really love this place. Great food (including delicious daily specials), a very nice rotating selection of draft beers, and reasonably priced mocktails. The kitchen closes late, which is also a big plus. What we most love, however, is the atmosphere. The staff has always been very welcoming and nice to us. In fact, we had to evacuate our building quite late after a fire broke out a few weeks ago and they kindly offered to shelter us until we found somewhere to spend the night. No wonder why we keep coming back :)

The Abbey has long been one of my favorite restaurants in Cambridge—especially for solo dining or spontaneous celebrations with close friends. This might be my sixth visit.
I really like the atmosphere here. The lighting is dim, creating a sense of privacy and relaxation, and the dark green glow from the bar adds a slightly mysterious, cozy feeling. I also love how casual and welcoming the seating is—they usually let people sit whatever they like (you can also walk in and grab a seat) , which truly makes it feel like home. I’ve noticed many regulars here as well. This was my first time visiting on a Friday night, and it felt lively and vibrant. I had lovely chat with other solo diners and watched skiing from their TV together.
I had the salmon risotto this time. The salmon was seared perfectly, with a thin, crispy skin and tender, juicy flesh. The skin is easy to be sliced cleanly without cracking. The risotto was flavored with lemongrass and coconut milk, giving it a subtle Southeast Asian, tropical note. It was very creamy—slightly oily, but acceptable. The snap peas were a great balance: crisp, fresh, and juicy. I only wished there had been a few more of them.
I’ve tried many dishes here, and almost everything has been excellent. Some favorites include the fries, Brussels sprout salad (with avocado and egg), mussels, and the bison Bolognese. The menu offers a great range—from classic comfort food like fries, wings, burgers, and pizza, to lighter salads with interesting ingredients, as well as more refined seafood and meat dishes. They also offer a variety of sides if you’re just looking for a small bite or want to add something extra. It’s easy to find something satisfying here whatever mood you have.

A comment to the owner: lf you want repeat business it would probably be a good idea to make sure your servers don’t complain directly to the customer about the inadequacy of the 15% tip they were given. We gave “only” a 15% tip because when we said the pizza was very salty (we were asked how was the food) the response was “yeah, that happens”. So my impression is that the Abbey is a place with OK food and OK service that doesn’t really care if you like the food or the service and if you don’t, don't come back. We won’t.

always a great time here! We’ve been enjoying this fine establishment for several years. Popped in last night after working an event for a quick snack and some refreshing beverages.

I paid $28 for the grilled cheese and tomato soup + the cookies skillet dessert. The cheese is kraft singles. Don’t bother with this entree!!!

Here’s a revieWe had a decent meal at The Abby. The food itself was good, but we had a small issue with the salad. I had asked to substitute the fries for a salad, and while I appreciated the option, it came already dressed. I personally liked the dressing, but I usually prefer my salads without it, and would have appreciated being asked. Unfortunately, my partner didn’t like the dressing at all and ended up not eating her salad. A small thing, but it would’ve made a difference if they had checked with us first.

Say hi to the staff, eat the food and drink their alcohol. This is one of the few places in town where you are not gouged for a glass of wine.
