I had such a great experience Christian was a great server and made me feel like i was at home with a private butler lol. I will be back again and asking for him to be my waiter. The food was also delicious. I was with my mom who is vegan they also had great options for her to enjoy.

Deeply disappointing service

I stopped into The Friendly Toast in Cambridge expecting a decent brunch experience, but instead I stood at the bar for nearly 30 minutes without so much as a greeting. No water. No menu. Not even eye contact or a “I’ll be right with you.”

Multiple staff members walked past me, but no one acknowledged that I was there. After half an hour of being completely ignored, I walked out.

If this is how they treat customers, I have zero confidence in the rest of the experience. There are too many great restaurants in Cambridge to waste time feeling invisible. I won’t be back — and I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone who values basic courtesy or prompt service.

Great experience at the friendly toast today ! We sat at the bar because we didn’t want to wait for a table. The bartender I think her name was Andrea, she was super friendly and helped with the menu. I have a gluten allergy so she was able to answer all my question.

I rarely write negative reviews, but this one is well deserved. It has been a long time since I experienced such poor service anywhere. The restaurant was more or less empty when we arrived. Nevertheless, there were no staff members in sight when we entered. Large parts of the restaurant were closed off, so we could only sit in a few designated areas.
We waited quite a while before a staff member finally appeared, looking at us as if she would much rather wish us to go. The overall atmosphere in the restaurant made us feel unwelcome. We had to ask if it was possible to get a table to place an order. No smiles, no friendliness whatsoever. It almost felt as if the staff were wandering around in their own living room. At one point, an employee was sitting in a corner eating, and the next moment she was serving food to another guest.
A very strange place. Not somewhere I would recommend if you’re looking to enjoy a pleasant lunch or dinner out. To top it off, the price of the very mediocre food is incredibly overpriced, and the restroom was very dirty.

My coffee was cold, asked for a reheat. Waiter brought another cup from the same pot. Same result. Food took forever even though we were one of about 5 groups in the place. Ordered an appetizer that came with the rest of our meal which was also cold. Waiter offered to remake, but after waiting so long for our food to arrive, I said no thanks.
