The Friendly Toast

This is a great spot to get some good food for Lunch or Breakfast. Most of the items seem quite unique and aren't seen commonly across many diners. The chicken cordon bleu eggs benedict was quite tasty and so was the chicken sandwich. Chicken and waffles were amazing too. I also found the names of the menu items to be quite funny . Our server was nice and she made sure we had everything that we needed. Highly recommend checking this place out

Every time I go there’s around 8-9 open bar seats but they tell me there’s a 20-30 minute wait. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. Then there’s at least a dozen tables open and the wait is even longer for them! So when I finally asked about all the empty tables and bar seats…they lied to my face and said they were dirty. ?? There were ZERO plates, cups, crumbs, liquid smears or ANYTHING on them. The food isn’t that good to justify that behavior. The food at Alden and Harlow is a lot better and they treat you better.

Amazing spot! We are from Miami visiting Boston, we were impressed by the food here!!!
Prices are no spicy and the portions are realistic big. They have very good flights, interesting if you want to try diversity. Service 10/10.

Great experience but the coffee was deeply questionable. Came on a Tuesday morning, no wait, and ordered a smoked salmon bagel alongside a black coffee. Bagel was great! Thought something had gone sour, the coffee had a pungent kick that made it deeply uncomfortable to drink.

Tried the eggs Benedict with avocado and a side of cheesy tater tots, and it really hit the spot. The hollandaise was smooth and tangy, the avocado added a nice creamy freshness, and the yolk was perfectly runny. The tater tots were golden, crispy on the outside, and loaded with just the right amount of cheese, comfort food done right. A solid, satisfying brunch plate.

I recently visited this establishment and was unfortunately disappointed. The food, while not inedible, lacked flavor. For the prices they charge, you can find other cafés in the area that offer better taste at the same cost.

What bothered me the most was that the tip was automatically added to the bill as if it were mandatory, when it should be left to the customer’s discretion based on the service received.

The food here is great but the atmosphere is the real star. The portion sizes are on the small side for the price. Get here early because it fills up fast. There is very little parking so plan ahead.

What a fun restaurant! My girlfriends and I spent a week in Boston including a day in Cambridge. The Friendly Toast was my favorite place we ate at all week! The atmosphere is beyond fun. The service was spot on. The food was delicious and plentiful. I will go back any and every time I am in the area.

I ordered the Rice Rice Baby bowl (this restaurant has overly-quirky dish names) and was sadly disappointed. Anytime a dish says it comes with avocado slices, you would expect more than a measly quarter of an avocado :(. The grilled chicken was rubbery and not well seasoned. The portion was also way too small for a $20 dish. I had been to this location previously and ordered one of their burgers (not good).
The only good things were the Shirley Temple and the kind waitress. I wouldn’t recommend Friendly Toast.
