I can't say enough great things about Longfellow Bar & Restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious, and the atmosphere had the perfect mix of energy and comfort — truly one of the best dining experiences I've had in Harvard Square. But what impressed me most was the service, especially from our server (I believe her name was Abby). Not only was she attentive and welcoming throughout the evening, but when I accidentally left my wallet on the table and headed off to the Regatta Bar for a jazz concert, she literally ran after me and tracked me down to return it. I was blown away by her kindness and dedication. I was so grateful that I actually drove back into Harvard Square the next morning just to leave her an extra tip. Even though it turned out to be her last night at Longfellow, the maître d' assured me she'd receive it. It's rare these days to find someone who goes so far above and beyond, and it speaks volumes about the type of people this restaurant attracts and supports. Between the incredible food, the warm atmosphere, and this unforgettable act of integrity and care, I can't recommend Longfellow Bar & Restaurant enough. Truly outstanding!
Hostess was cold and seemed annoyed that we were dining at her establishment. Do not think this is the career for her. Food is very good - but there is not a huge variety of choices. Kale salad was delicious, but was way too much for 2 people. Brussels sprouts were great as was chicken sandwich and cocktail. Our server was lovely and attentive.
Food was coated in chives and had flavor challenges. Server was not paying attention, had to ask us multiple times to repeat, it was not loud at all. Sat for a long time without a drink refill. Overall, did not enjoy food or service
This place has old school bar cost vibes and great handmade food. It does have a lot of creative bar food and seriously creative drinks. It's a little hard to find in the sense that it's upstairs while its restaurant (Alden and Harlow) is in the basement level. Look for the neon sign then go up the stairs. I also would recommend reservations because it fills up fast.

Crowded and noisy. Service was perfunctory at best. Despite ordering some exotic cocktails we hoped to enjoy, the food was delivered way before the drinks. Food was ok but too messy to eat for bar food. Service was pretty lacking. Neither welcoming nor efficient.
This place has some of the best cocktail creations in Boston. Tartare and burger were 🤌

Amazing unique craft cocktails, outstanding food and a lovely ambiance. John who works at the downstairs bar was absolutely fantastic! A super talented mixologist, he manages to keep up with the whole floor in such a seemingly effortless manner, you'd think he has an extra set of invisible hands, just wow! Will be back soon for sure!
Drinks were solid. The messy fries had a spice that was indigestion- able. Po boy oyster sliders had some flavor but lost with the heavy sauce pour.
Amazing cocktails and equally great food. Small-medium plates so easy to share. Loved everything.
It's a small menu, but all the food was very good. The fried chicken sandwich was particularly excellent. Myself and another of our party agreed it was the best one we'd had.

Headline: Seriously overcooked burgers and apparent indifference from staff and kitchen.
This is a lovely space and atmosphere. Drinks were fine. Server was mostly fine at first. Three of us ordered the Alden burgers. Two of us shared the Brussel sprouts as a side. The burgers were all ordered medium rare. Mine came well done (dried out and gray- brown everywhere), another came medium well, and the third looked to be medium. When the server came by I showed him my burger noting that it wasn't medium rare, but well done. My friend with the other seriously over-cooked burger also chimed in. Without apology, the server said he would let the kitchen know. He made no offer to replace the burgers or to do anything about them. I waited for the server to return, eventually gave up, and just ate the burger - it seemed nicely constructed, but the overcooked meat ruined it. The server never followed up with us about the burgers. Nothing on the bill reflected the problem. I still left a solid tip, even if I had mixed feelings about that.

Service felt rude. We went in for their cocktails, ordered our first round. The server/bartender already handed us the cheque before even checking if we wanted anything else.

I was excited to go to this place with my friends. Unfortunately, one of the hosts was super rude to my group. We were a big group, and we were trying to find a table. I understand their policy for reservations, but that was overall a very unwelcoming experience.
