Found a classic cocktail order to be better than a drink ordered off the menu. Fry order was huge and pretty solid, pigs-in-a-blanket order was tiny (3 pieces). Upstairs space is not quite as nice as first floor.

An AMAZING cocktail bar, but the bar food is also so good??? Good portions and interesting twists. The messy fries with the chili crisp was SO good, and I LOVED the onion dip. Large selection of cocktails - I loved the sugar plum because I only like fruity drinks lol. Service was slow both times I've been here on weekends, and it was really loud on the first floor.

10/10 Family Dining Experience
Not only was the food great, but the entire experience was fantastic. We ordered a few appetizers to share between my wife, our baby, and me, and everything was delicious.
The staff were incredibly attentive and accommodating. We don’t usually make a fuss about high chairs since our 15-month-old barely wants to sit in one, but they went above and beyond — even bringing one over from their sister restaurant next door. When it turned out to be too short, they worked with us to find a solution. Just plain fantastic service!
The icing on the cake came when we ordered hot wings. Without us even asking, the staff brought out a few plain wings so the baby could enjoy some too. That thoughtful gesture made our family dining experience even better.
This place is a solid 10/10, and we’ll definitely be coming back. Huge shout-out to Ross and the entire team for their kindness and attention to detail.

I can't say enough great things about Longfellow Bar & Restaurant. The food was absolutely delicious, and the atmosphere had the perfect mix of energy and comfort — truly one of the best dining experiences I've had in Harvard Square. But what impressed me most was the service, especially from our server (I believe her name was Abby). Not only was she attentive and welcoming throughout the evening, but when I accidentally left my wallet on the table and headed off to the Regatta Bar for a jazz concert, she literally ran after me and tracked me down to return it. I was blown away by her kindness and dedication. I was so grateful that I actually drove back into Harvard Square the next morning just to leave her an extra tip. Even though it turned out to be her last night at Longfellow, the maître d' assured me she'd receive it. It's rare these days to find someone who goes so far above and beyond, and it speaks volumes about the type of people this restaurant attracts and supports. Between the incredible food, the warm atmosphere, and this unforgettable act of integrity and care, I can't recommend Longfellow Bar & Restaurant enough. Truly outstanding!

Hostess was cold and seemed annoyed that we were dining at her establishment. Do not think this is the career for her. Food is very good - but there is not a huge variety of choices. Kale salad was delicious, but was way too much for 2 people. Brussels sprouts were great as was chicken sandwich and cocktail. Our server was lovely and attentive.

We stopped by late one night for our anniversary, and it was such a great spot- awesome bar and vibes! We tried a couple cocktails, and I can't recommend the Land of the Snakes dessert cocktail enough. It's coconut and matcha-based, and honestly, I'm still thinking about it..... The Messy Fries are a must too!!!!! Crispy waffle fries topped with chili oil, kewpie mayo, and avocado. Sooooooo good!!!!!! Definitely recommend checking out Longfellow Bar 👌🏻👌🏻👌🏻
