In my opinion, this is the best Indian restaurant in the Boston metropolitan area. The quality of the food is outstanding—every dish is full of rich, authentic flavors and clearly made with care and top-notch ingredients.
The food is on the spicier side, something to keep in mind if you’re sensitive to heat. While the prices are on the higher end, I believe it’s worth it for the quality, taste, and overall experience.
Service was great, ordered the mango juice, so sweet, definitely from a carton. Ordered chickpeas and paneer with rice. It was very very oily Chai tea did not taste fresh at all , arrived in a few mins after ordering. As someone who knows how to make a good cup of chai tea, this tea had been brewed a long time before it was ordered.
Another excellent meal. I am a regular there and tried for the first time Shrimp Chettinad, which was excellent. I will certainly try this again. I like the vibe and as usual the service was friendly and efficient.
food was pretty good, i liked the shahi paneer korma - staff is nice but wait times for the food can be long
sit by the window if you can
We loved the food. There were so many vegetarian options, including quite a few that we had not previously had in other restaurants. But be aware that it's quite pricey for Indian restaurants.
Just give you 1 stari we will back tomorrow again see all your savice we dont give disrespect to any staff yoo will give you to disrespect to us is not fair 😢
First of all not authentic taste.
Waiter denied the sell of beer after 10 o'clock for no reason. Indian restaurant is not all about paneer tikka and chicken tikka it's also the experience of hospitality and this people doesn't have hospitality in their dictionary. If I am to select a worst indian restaurant in entire USA this will be the one.
They are ruining India's in the name of restaurant.
They're ruining the name of india cuisine...this is not a indian restaurant at all.
I would love to give a 000 star but Google doesn't allowed me to do that that's the reason I gave them 1 star that they don't deserve.
Our waitress was lovely, the food was delicious, we had a nice table by a window. I look forward to the next time.
Great food! Great service! Great view! The Maharaja is a must-visit in Cambridge! The atmosphere is elegant, the views of Harvard Square are stunning, and the food is absolutely incredible. From rich, flavorful curries to sizzling tandoori dishes, every bite is expertly crafted. The service is warm and attentive, making the whole experience feel special. Whether you're new to Indian cuisine or a longtime fan, The Maharaja delivers a truly unforgettable dining experience.

The Maharaja is a go to whenever my family is in Cambridge - which is a couple of times a year. The food is consistently good. We always receive a warm welcome. My youngest is in a wheelchair and they are very accommodating. There is also a decent amount of room between tables so we are not always adjusting if the person behind him has to get up.
This is a beautiful place to eat--spacious, with big windows overlooking Harvard Square. The service was as gracious as at any restaurant I've ever been to, super-fancy ones included. The food was very good, and some was excellent (the Shrimp Chettinad especially).
I have eaten here many times and the food is always fresh and delicious. The spice combinations are vibrant and distinctive. The service is excellent.
We really liked our server, and the food was fantastic - especially the sag paneer and butter chicken!
Excellent food, service, drinks, and atmosphere. We always have a fantastic meal each time we come to The Maharaja and this visit was no exception. The meal was wonderful.
