Our food took especially long to come out. Our server was very apologetic. The Rising is a great bar/pub in Cambridge. Outstanding beer and whiskey selection! The hummus was delicious but the bread that came with it was a little chewy. The menu seemed a little sparse; I expected more options from the web site, but the food otherwise all seemed fine. Excellent bean soup was special of the day. Nice atmosphere. Early arrival half-price apps. Coming back and will review again.

The Rising is a solid pub with good atmosphere and service, and an excellent selection of draft beers. The food is reasonably priced and tasty. I most recently had Shepard's pie and enjoyed it. There was a small misstep with another member of my party's order which took some time to correct, but the item was comped by way of a apology. We always appreciate when a restaurant takes responsibility.

Had what may have been the worst sandwich I have ever eaten there on Monday 9/23. And waited one hour and fifteen minutes for it. 'Twas supposed to be steak and cheese (which seemed like reasonable pub food to order at such a place) but tasted like Dinty Moore canned beef stew and Cheese Whiz on a sub roll. My companions who all had the lamb hotpot (and only waited an hour and five minutes for their dinners) enjoyed their meals, and could conceivably return. But I won't.
