The food is very tasty and the coffee too! I liked the bagel with the cream cheese with the dill taste especially, delicious!
And the place is nice and cozy.

I was visiting a friend who recommended SMOOT. We went in for a Monday lunch and the owner and sat down to eat with us! He was so kind and welcoming, as was the rest of the staff. We had a delicious meal and loved the ambiance! Highly recommend. Would be a great spot to bring your computer for a work day.

Highly recommend breakfast sandwich (I got it with chicken sausage) and the cuban sandwich. I wouldn’t get the latte again, but jasmine tea lemonade has good tea flavor if you’re into that. Great atmosphere with plenty of tables and beer on tap🍻

Cute lil cafe with a cozy second floor. One of the better coffee spots in the area. Cafe is much emptier during the summer when school is out. Get the scone shortbread and also ask about the story of Oliver Smoot 👀

Best breakfast sandwich ever - they put a thin crispy hash brown in the sandwich which just makes it perfect. Great lunch and coffee options also.
Although this cafe took over the space that used to be Darwin's, the quality of the coffee and food is definitely lower. I have been multiple times, and the coffee is always burnt. The matcha tastes so off that it is pretty much undrinkable (I left half the drink last time I went). The food is decent, but the breakfast sandwich I got was very oily. That being said, the vibe is fantastic, and you will always find a place to sit here. It's great for working as the WiFi is consistent.

Huge fan of Smoot! I get my coffee from there since I work in the area. The service is so friendly and efficient (and the coffee is great!). Atmosphere is really nice and good if you need to do a little work at any point. Highly recommend!

We had an exceptional afternoon dining experience here at Smoot Standard for lunch after being unable to get into 2 other spots. On entering, we were really impressed by the exposed brick, plush leather barstools, and comfy 2nd floor seating nook. The iced tea was a really delicious tropical black tea and the iced matcha with almond milk was equally awesome. It was a bit late for brunch but one of us still got the salmon bagel, which was super fresh and hit the spot. Overall, highly reccomended for all day dining or teas in Kendall Square!

The Smoot Standard has started hosting a weekly jam on Tuesdays that I used to attend at Lily Ps and the Cantab before that. The access to food and beverage during the jam is great and the music is fun. The staff is friendly. Parking can be tricky but it's never more than a 5 minute walk.
