I really love this place and consider it either the #1 or #2 sandwich shop near MIT.
I tried the fried green tomato and beef brisket sandwiches and they were both awesome. Really really tasty, high quality ingredients.
The croissant was deliciously warm and flaky.
I’ve also had the cappuccino, hot chocolate, and Irish cream coffee. All excellent.
The pricing is reasonable too, especially considering the quality.

Smoot's is an absolute gem! The food and drinks are nothing short of incredible—the breakfast sandwich is arguably the best in all of Central Square, and has become my go-to dish to start the day. The vibe and ambiance are stellar, there's a perfect balance between cozy and lively. The staff are super friendly and make you feel right at home from the moment you walk in. Also, the pork belly—outrageously good doesn’t even do it justice. This place is truly the perfect addition to an already awesome block, and I can’t wait to come back...later today.

Partner and I had a great time at the Smoot Standard this Sunday morning. It was very quiet and the atmosphere of the shop is very cozy. The service was quick, the staff was lovely and the food was delicious.
Our experience was nothing short of exceptional! The cocktails were amazing, with The Tootsie (a delightful rum espresso martini) and The Smootness (a perfectly balanced spicy mezcal creation) stealing the show as our absolute favorites. Yared and his talented team have truly breathed new life into this space, creating a vibrant and welcoming atmosphere that’s impossible to resist. We’re already looking forward to our next visit—this spot is a true gem!

I first came in for coffee and a breakfast sando at the cafe - very reasonably priced and a great space to get some work done.
Now that they're open for dinner and drinks, the whole space has leveled up. High quality food, delicious cocktails (FOUR varieties of espresso martini) and really good vibes for a friday/saturday date spot.
Staff are super friendly, 10/10 highly recommended
