Everything was top notch! We've been here before and will definitely be back. Service was a little slow. Looks like the servers and manager were having a meeting of sorts.
We visited Toscano's for a birthday dinner and, unfortunately, it didn't quite meet expectations. The wait was long, and while our server wasn't rude, he was a bit curt and not particularly welcoming. I ordered the scallops, which came in a sauce with spinach—there were only four scallops, and the dish didn't sit well with me afterward. I wouldn't recommend it. I did hear good things about the salmon, though I didn't try it myself. On a brighter note, I had a cocktail with St. Germain that was excellent. It just took a while for the check to come, which added to the overall delay. For the birthday, they brought out a dessert plate with a mix of biscotti, a blueberry tart, and a scoop of tiramisu ice cream. The ice cream was great, but the rest felt a bit like leftover odds and ends rather than a true celebration dessert. All in all, the ambiance was nice but the experience was underwhelming. I don't plan to return.
I had such a positive experience dining at Toscana for dinner recently. In the past, I had come to Toscana for work-related events. Recently, I had a lunch meeting with a friend at Toscana and had a positive experience. When a friend wanted to connect for dinner in Harvard Square, I thought Toscana would be a good choice. The food was delicious and service was excellent. Tomás, our server, was warm, kind, and attentive. The entire staff was welcoming and genuine. I had a delicious risotto dish and my friend and I shared an amazing tiramisu as a dessert. We had a lovely evening, and I talked to my husband about visiting again soon. A beautiful evening in a warm, welcoming environment with great food and attentive service. Toscana is a great place to gather in Harvard Square for delicious food and a nice environment!
We have been meaning to try Toscano for a very longe time, however, most times when we went to make a reservation, we found it to be totally booked. Yesterday was our lucky day as there were no real crowds to speak of in Harvard Square on the 4th. What a treat. The restaurant is beautiful and the atmosphere was soothing. My only complaint, my being well over 6 feet tall, was that the seating was all rather low and thus uncomfortable for me, with the table then sitting rather high, but so be it. The selections on the menu and the wine list were extensive and diverse and easily fit to most everyone's taste. What was truly outstanding, though, was the preparation and quality of the food, everything to absoute perfection, and oh so delicious. The services was also very friendly and attentive. Can't wait to come back - better make that reservation in advance.
Portions were generous and full of flavor.
Had an early dinner at Toscano this weekend, and it was overall pretty good. The service was prompt and kind. I went for the pappardelle white bolognese which was very flavorful if a tad heavy. My dining partner had the salmon and asparagus which he said was nice but only had three spears of asparagus. The bread was an interesting choice given they were warm yeasted rolls rather than a ciabatta or the like. A decent option in Cambridge, though by no means the only option.
The food and service are excellent. Very good wine list too. It is our favorite place in Harvard Square.
Comfortable atmosphere with dim lighting and tables that feel more private than they appear. Great quality food with generous portions and served by knowledgeable and friendly staff. Reservations are not required by suggested. If you order one of the pasta dishes I recommend sharing, the portions are generous.
i have been to Toscano many times now the food is always fantastic, however we have had the same server 2 times and both times we had issues with our orders. this last time we considered ordering the eggplant appetizer, we were advised it would take 18 min and since we were going to a show at ART. we said never mind and ordered a different app. the server misunderstood us and put in the eggplant anyway. turns out it didnt take 18 min and one member of my party really loved it so i didnt say anything. the last time i was there the same server misunderstood us and we received a different dish than i ordered. the dish we got was delicious so again i said nothing. the one thing my party noticed is that the acoustics are not the best its was very loud with a full dining room and maybe that contributed to the issues with the waiter. i would strongly recommend Toscano. the service is NOT bad, and we were lucky we had happy accidents.
We really enjoy Tosacno, particularly there consistency and great, welcoming service. This was our first visit to the Harvard Square location and we will be back. It is very convenient to A.R.T. The open all day schedule is particularly convenient.

Food is very good. But the noise level, even early-ish on a Saturday evening, was awful. Impossible to hear our friends sitting right across from us. Had to shout to be heard. "Energetic" is a much kinder way of describing the noise level. It was intolerable and i couldn't wait to leave. We will not be back for that reason.
Great place for a quiet, delicious lunch for business or with a close friend.
Our server was pleasant and friendly. We sat at a very comfortable high top. The food was delicious and the menu varies.
I dined last evening with friends at Toscano. It's always hard to get a table here on theatre nights so I was thrilled to get a reservation. Toscano more than lived up to my expectations. The staff was professional and friendly. The food is delicious and plentiful. We all enjoyed the experience and look forward to returning soon.
Very attractive restaurant, with pleasant old fashioned service and good Italian food. The pasta with wild mushrooms was very nice, without too much tomato as sometimes happens. The service was attentive without being intrusive.
