While enjoyable, I came in with higher expectations. I knew going in that the menu was "weird" (maybe unusual is more appropriate?), and after the meal, I pretty much felt the same. I don't feel like the ingredient or cooking choices really came together, and I don't know if it's because farm to table in New England at the start of spring is just unfair, or if this just comes down to the chef's choices. My partner and I shared 4 dishes, and we each got our own dessert. I loved my dessert, but the other one was unbalanced, with too much bitter marmalade. The savory dishes were all fine - but we wondered if the scallops could have been better with a different protein, if the celery root would have been better as a veloute, and if the sauce for the lamb were not so sweet.Still, I think I'd like to come back when the farms in New England have better produce and try again.Kid-friendliness: Not really - this is a place for very adventurous adults

Ate at the chefs counter last night with a buddy. The food was delicious and fun. Was delighted by each course. Very well executed. Wine pairings were wonderful. Service was attentive and friendly. Atmosphere was cozy and comforting. If I lived in Boston, I would visit here often.

The food is amazing! The most creative combinations of deliciousness from any chef in the Boston area -- the cauliflower & pecan paté was sumptuous; the scallops in green sauce sparkled every tastebud; the sweet potato gnocchi are something between comfort food and addiction...every spoonful satisfies the palate and the soul.

My wife and I had a fine dining experience at Urban Hearth. The atmosphere is very laid back and very quiet (which is unusual in the modern world). Service was prompt (but not too quick), professional and friendly. We started off with a Big Biscuit which was very tasty and big (as advertised). We ordered the scallops and mussels off the small plates menu - both were excellent. We ordered the lamb entree portion and it was delicious. The food was nicely complemented by the wine selection - we chose a French Red. The only low spot was the dessert which was the Millionaire's Tart - chocolate over hazelnut "shortbread". The chocolate was fine but the shortbread was so hard we could barely cut it.

Great service and atmosphere. The food is excellent! We were disappointed with how small the portions were for the lamb. It was $42 and three small pieces of lamb with some buckwheat that covered barely half the plate. It is considered a “large plate” on their menu but the only thing that was large was the plate itself. Food was delicious but prices are high compared to portions received.

I have a colleague who is in town about once a month and we like to try different restaurants. Urban Hearth has been on our bucket list and did not disappoint. The attentive service was perfectly timed; each course was amazing, and while we could have ordered more, the amount we chose suited us well and was absolutely delicious. Great wine selections topped off the experience.

Interesting evening at the Chef's Table at Urban Hearth in Cambridge. 5 course tasting menu, tiny restaurant, only 4 seats at the Chef's table. Food was delicious, but really tiny servings. Not a lot of conversation with the staff. Chef didn't even introduce herself. As I said the food was delicious, but it's a one and done for us.

A tiny restuarant but with great food full of imagination and deliscious flavors. The food comes principally in the form of creative small plates (they recommend five for two people) or a couple of large plates that were also on the menu. They said that the menu changes about ten times a year. We chose a silky smooth cauliflower and pecan pate served with sourdough crackers, ceviche style scallops in cold emerald "soup", celery root creme brulee with potato and cheese crisps and burgundy truffles, a crispy confit duck leg in a thick sunchoke sauce dotted with pomegrante, and a larger than expected plate of roasted beets sitting on blueberry mustarda with blue cheese and streaks of dark chocolate! Every dish was a real treat. After five plates, shared between two people, we were too full to try the desserts, who is too bad because their descriptions in the menu sound amazing. We enjoyed glasses of the Willamette pinot and their was a good selection of other things to drink. Service was helpful and friendly.

The best restaurant I’ve been to in Cambridge, hands down, and one of my all-time favorite places ever. Chef Erin runs a small romantic space with a focus on farm-to-table dishes ranging from innovative to comforting (the miso biscuits are not to be missed). I love the land-sea-garden menu setup and always try to get at least one from each category. Cocktails and wine are excellent. I’ve been maybe five times (with one counter experience - highly recommended) and wish I could afford to go more often. It’s always a special experience.

Sweet little neighborhood place, but the food was not up to par, especially for the amount of money they charged. Most things tasted similar and didn't have enough seasoning. Maybe it was just an off night since it was Sunday, wishing them well going forward.

Chef Erin cooks with such a passion that shines through every dish she puts out. Her food is creative, delicious, and delightful. We had the pleasure of doing a 5 course menu as part of the Tasting Collective, and I’m so happy they picked this location this month. The menu showcased a creative blend of flavors, with each dish offering a unique and delicious elements that were tied together perfectly l.
