My gluten free ordered cake was beautifully decorated but unbelievably dry inside and tasted so stale. It upset our stomachs.

Delivered an adorable gluten free cake for a birthday. Perfect for any celiac with a sweet tooth. Manager was very communicative about the delivery window.

The best gluten-free bakery you will find in the Boston/Cambridge area. So creative, artful, and delicious. You don't have to be GF to love. Highly recommend!

I love Violette! I come in once a week and am now treated like a regular by the lovely woman who oversees the counter. And the food!! When I was diagnosed with celiac I thought I’d never taste a good sourdough again. But Violette’s sourdough is superb. So is their challah. And their bagels … and their cookies and cakes…

Violettes is a great little Gluten Liberated Bakery with friendly staff and many tasty options. It is very hard to buy just one treat!!
Violette made a stunning heart shaped cake for my fiancées birthday. Beautifully frosted as well as moist and delicious, probably the best tasting GF cake I’ve bought
I was pleased with the variety and the helpful service. I purchased a dozen cupcakes which met the food requirements and my guests loved the flavors.
Nice little vibe and good service.
We got the dairy free glazed donut which was the best gluten free donut I’ve had by a landslide, absolutely delicious.
We also got the dairy free vanilla caramel cupcake. It was definitely good for GF + DF but it’s unlikely that I’d order it again.
Overall a great experience and I’ll definitely be back to try more!
UPDATE 5/22/2025: Came back and dropping a star. Glazed donut was incredibly moist and oily to the point where I didn’t bother finishing it. Oatmeal cranberry cookie was crunchy with no real cookie texture, like a biscuit as some people have said. On the bright side, the empanada was actually really delicious - that being said it took them 20 minutes to warm up which I can’t imagine people would want to wait.
This place have very good products no doubt that, but no idea on customer service. It is very unfortunate the manager or owner is very rude. Ones again no customer service at all

We ordered a delicious gluten free vegan cake for Easter. The decoration and taste were lovely. My only comment is that that owner or manager was speaking in a rude tone to the employees so much that my friend and I who were picking up the pre-ordered cake and bread were uncomfortable.
Best gluten free bagel that I have had!
Obsessed with this bakery! I’m newly celiac and this was one of the first places that I went. I felt so comfortable with the staff and their knowledge. The food was incredible! I go every few weeks and stock up! Highly recommend
A Disappointing Experience with an Unyielding Baker. I’m sharing this review after attempting to provide constructive feedback privately to the baker, which they dismissed outright. Please read this before deciding to give them your business. I ordered an eggless chocolate cake for my pre-K son, and here’s my experience: Mismatched Cake Size: The website states their party cakes feed up to 35 people and costs $170. What I received was a cake that feeds 70 people—a major discrepancy. When I suggested updating the website with accurate information, they pushed back, refusing to acknowledge the issue. Ingredient Concerns: I recommended using aluminum-free baking powder since they claim to be mostly organic, gluten-free, and chemical-free. They dismissed this, saying they use commercial baking powder to keep costs down and then condescendingly “educated” me on commercial baking. They even told me I have no right to suggest how they run their business. Ignored Special Instructions: I requested light frosting in the special instructions because my son doesn’t like too much frosting. Despite this, the cake had about an inch total of frosting across its layers. When I pointed this out, they replied, “If you wanted a cake without frosting, you should’ve ordered a naked cake.” However, their menu offers specialty frosted cakes only, with the exception of specific seasonal naked cakes (e.g., Christmas and Elf cakes). If customization isn’t possible, why have a special instructions section? Pickup Hassle: Picking up the cake was time-consuming and chaotic due to the crowded bakery. The Bottom Line: While the cake tasted good and the quality was decent, the owner’s arrogance and unwillingness to accommodate customers’ needs overshadowed the experience. If you’re okay bending your wishes to fit their rigid approach, feel free to give them your business. But if you value responsiveness and customer care, I’d suggest looking elsewhere.
Food was great!
