A Disappointing Experience with an Unyielding Baker. I’m sharing this review after attempting to provide constructive feedback privately to the baker, which they dismissed outright. Please read this before deciding to give them your business. I ordered an eggless chocolate cake for my pre-K son, and here’s my experience: Mismatched Cake Size: The website states their party cakes feed up to 35 people and costs $170. What I received was a cake that feeds 70 people—a major discrepancy. When I suggested updating the website with accurate information, they pushed back, refusing to acknowledge the issue. Ingredient Concerns: I recommended using aluminum-free baking powder since they claim to be mostly organic, gluten-free, and chemical-free. They dismissed this, saying they use commercial baking powder to keep costs down and then condescendingly “educated” me on commercial baking. They even told me I have no right to suggest how they run their business. Ignored Special Instructions: I requested light frosting in the special instructions because my son doesn’t like too much frosting. Despite this, the cake had about an inch total of frosting across its layers. When I pointed this out, they replied, “If you wanted a cake without frosting, you should’ve ordered a naked cake.” However, their menu offers specialty frosted cakes only, with the exception of specific seasonal naked cakes (e.g., Christmas and Elf cakes). If customization isn’t possible, why have a special instructions section? Pickup Hassle: Picking up the cake was time-consuming and chaotic due to the crowded bakery. The Bottom Line: While the cake tasted good and the quality was decent, the owner’s arrogance and unwillingness to accommodate customers’ needs overshadowed the experience. If you’re okay bending your wishes to fit their rigid approach, feel free to give them your business. But if you value responsiveness and customer care, I’d suggest looking elsewhere.

We ordered gluten free and dairy free pies for Thanksgiving and they were absolutely amazing! Normally those of us with dietary restrictions sit out dessert, but this time we not only got to enjoy pies, but they were even better than the regular ones. Great flavor, texture and crust. They were a complete hit and we look forward to enjoying them at our next family gathering in the area.

I unfortunately had a bad experience here today. When buying a bread from them today, I informed the staff that I could not eat oats and also checked the ingredients list. However, shortly after buying it and re-reading the label at home, I was perplexed by the ingredient «GF Oatl», and I went back to the bakery. They confirmed that this was a misspelling at that the bread contained oats, but would not refund me. I am very glad I discovered their mistake before eating the bread.
After being a customer for years, I am super disappointed with what I witnessed today. While waiting in line, another customer politely asked for a refund as the loaf they purchased said it contained oats, and they were allergic, and they had specifically asked the individual at the counter if it contained oats and they said no. The staff not only refused to give her a refund, but claimed it was a “typo” and told the customer it was her fault for not checking. Being a bakery that serves individuals with food allergies but not being careful about your labeling AND not educating staff/allowing refunds where needed doesn’t seem to line up. There are other gluten-free options in the area and I would not give this store my business - I personally will not again.
I bought a carrot cake cupcake for my girlfriend’s birthday. She has celiac, and she said she hadn’t had a treat this delicious since before she was diagnosed almost 10 years ago - maybe even longer! She could not tell that it was gluten free - it was delicious and was really special for her. Highly recommend Violette bakery!

Super cute and delicious gluten free bakery! I haven’t had such great donuts since finding out I had celiac disease almost a decade ago.
I really suggest their donuts, cheesecake, and challah bread. I’m sure the rest is great too, but these have been my favorites of the things I’ve tried so far!

Overpriced and dry gluten free items. I really wanted to like this bakery because there aren’t many gluten free bakeries but unfortunately it wasn’t worth it. I would recommend Twist or Verveine instead.
Edited to add after the owner responded: Kind of creepy that the owner looked at their “database” and other reviews I have written to try to determine if I’m gluten free (I’m not gluten free but have family and friends who are which is why I occasionally purchase gluten free items). Also, I’m not sure how having a bicycle in my profile picture is relevant.

We are so thankful to Violette Bakery for making our daughter's birthday extra special. Its first time for her to be away from home and has many allergies. Violette bakery took time to answer my questions. By mistake, I gave incorrect date and when I asked them to deliver the cake in a days notice, they accommodated my request. They were so generous that the owner was ready to personally deliver the cake if the delivery guys weren't available. They went above and beyond and the cake was beautifully decorated. Very happy with the vegan cake with great taste and décor as well as their service.

Pumpkin Bread (should be called ginger bread) is wonderful!!!! A winner!
I didn’t care for the peanut butter cookie.
Overall you need to try this place to see if you like it.
The Boston Cream Pie had no chocolate covering and the cream was spoiled.

The carrot cake cream cheese cupcake and the chocolate covered peanut butter cookie were both so delicious. Honestly one of the best cupcakes I have ever had.

I’m not understanding the web site. I want to buy bagels. Can I walk in to purchase? Usually I visit a bakery and choose what catches my eye.
