Chatham Perk is doing ghost interviews, which means they say they’re hiring, but after the interview, they say the job is no longer hiring that position. Apparently companies get tax benefits for proving that they’re hiring, but they don’t actually have to hire anyone. It also falsely boosts the moral of the employees, thinking they’re gonna get help. I’m using a fake name, but please don’t apply or interview! It will waste your time. You will be disappointed.

Why post a job and decide two days later you’re not hiring? It doesn’t make sense!

Would not recommend the acai bowl. Very soupy, not a lot of substance. Everything else on the menu looks good, Portuguese English muffin was nice

Extremely dissapointed with this coffee shop. Terrible customer service from the workers, every time we go in we feel uncomfortable and bothersome to the workers. One employee is continually rude and makes our experience extremely negative. Coffee is mid and not worth the trouble.

This spot is an expensive tourist trap with awful customer service. I’m sure owner will snap back to this review with some snarky response (terrible online presence too!), but avoid this spot despite what they may say. There are much better spots within a 4 minute radius, such as Pain d’auvignon, snowy owl, I would even suggest Dunkin Donut’s over this place lol.

Coffee is not good. Cold brew is okay but expensive, pastries are pretty good, sandwiches are very mid. Service is awful.

Maybe train your employees in customer service and fix your prices. I’ll come back and leave a nicer review :)

Good coffee, and was happy to find some gluten free and nondairy food outside of Ptown after struggling for the past few days. I have celiacs and they had no problem accommodating me. My bagel even came in a separate bag which is always a good sign that the people making the good take it as seriously as I do. They also felt much more authentic than rest of the town, and was the only place in town where I couldn't feel the staff staring at me the entire time I was in the building.

The perk is our special place… the Coffee is hands-down the best in the area. The staff is always incredibly friendly, Even when it’s super busy. I have never been disappointed except when they have had the close for a winter break!

I agree with Ellen . You should never leave a dog in the car in the summer . So many dogs have died that way. Yes , your staff should have been more concerned about this situation. Being rude is no way to run a business! I’m a dog lover . I’ll never go back to your place !

Had an extremely negative experience at Chatham Perk on Orleans Road this morning. I work out at Chatham Works which is next door. This morning when I arrived and parked I heard barking coming from the car parked next to me. It was 85 degrees and the car was parked in full sun. The windows were cracked about an inch or two. Knowing that the temperature in a car parked in the sun can reach over 140 degrees in minutes even with the windows cracked, I went into Chatham Perk to see if the owner of the dog might be in there. I spoke to a young man behind the counter and told him about the dog in the car. He very rudely waved me away. I then asked the customers there if anyone had left a dog in a car and one of the customers told me he had done so and told me to mind my own business. I went back to the counter to try to see if something could be done and again the same employee waved me away. I then went to Chatham Works and told them and they were quite concerned. An employee there said she would watch the car and make sue the owners came out within a few minutes and if not she would call police. I watched with her and luckily the owners did come out within a few minutes. But the Chatham Works employee understood the seriousness of the situation while the Chatham Perks employee showed nothing but disinterest and contempt. After my workout I went back to Chatham Perks to get a post workout latte and I spoke to the same employee. I was hoping to be able to impress on him how a dog in a hot car in the sun in 85 degrees is an emergency, but he told me he has two disabled dogs and then he stomped away shouting “I don’t have time for this!” Not quite the attitude you would hope for. I will have to think very hard about whether I will remain a Chatham Perk customer after this experience. Clearly the staff needs some education about the dangers of leaving animals in hot cars.

Response from the owner is a lie. I was not aggressive …I was polite at all times. It was her employee who was rude and aggressive . She did not follow me out and I don’t know why she stated that ״clearly I was very upset” as I never met her. It is appalling that this business owner would stoop to telling such untruths. Suggest you steer clear of this establishment.

Regarding the owner’s second response, my husband owned a small business for 47 years and would never respond to a customer review in such a hateful way. You did not follow me out to the car. I did not go back to the car. If you re-read my statement you will see that after leaving Chatham Perk I went next door to Chatham Works for my class. If you need me to supply a witness to that fact, I will be happy to. I have never met you. We did not “converse” at all. If anyone needs to apologize is is you and your employee.

Regarding the owner’s comments about speaking to me in the parking lot, I don’t know to whom she was speaking, but it wasn’t me. She should try to get her facts straight before making false accusations.
Going forward, I will continue to try to help dogs locked in hot cars on summer days despite rude coffee shop employees and owners.
