Nasty bunch of employees and owner. Very expensive and refused to allow a sample, 1st because they said they ran out of sample spoons and then owner said they never do samples. Before committing $10.00++ for a Sundae, we just wanted to make sure we would like the flavor we planned to choose. Ridiculous policy and lost customer!!

IMHO, this is the best ice cream in Boston. It’s very high quality, it’s ice cream that you can bite into. It’s not gritty or over churned with lots of air. It’s dense. It doesn’t melt in five seconds. It’s something you can chew. I love that.
I can’t give it 5 stars when shops like Molly Moons in Seattle or Big Dipper in Montana have far more inventive flavors.
However, this is very good quality ice cream.
I just wish they got more creative with flavors of base ice creams.
That said, they also need to take plastic at all locations. The Cape Cod location has an ATM inside and I abhor that. Just install a POS machine and if you won’t pay the fees add it to the bill. You’re killing your employees tip money when you make people pay usurious fees for ATMs in your establishment. I am guessing the business gets a cut of the fees or why else make customers jump through such hoops? Nobody carries cash anymore. Get with the 2020s. That’s why I knocked down the atmosphere score.
That said, the ice cream itself is very good.

This place is hit or miss so definitely make sure you sample what you get before you buy it. Went with a group of 4, half good, other half we literally threw away (for us all the peanut butter ice creams were disappointing).

I’ve been going to Emacks since I was little and it never fails. Their ice cream is always so rich and full of flavor. So perfect always!
Precious shop. Sweet employees. The lemon sorbet was tart and sweet. Fresh and crisp. The waffle cone was a perfect crisp. Not soggy or stale. Lovely dessert for our supper at the Tavern.

Cash only and they don't let you sample their flavors. Better options in town.
Great choice of yummy ice cream
Young kids with no customer service skills. Ice cream was ok.
Left immediately; cash only, does not give samples, and had less than half the flavors their website promised.

Paid $9 for a frappe. Got basically a cold cup of milk because there was barely any ice cream in there. Staff wasn’t super friendly either.
Over priced and cash only
Our favorite ice cream in Chatham!
Pricey but great flavor selection.
I didn’t get ice cream here, because there was one vegan option the day I was in - toasted coconut, which probably would be fine, but not worth the anticipation at $8.71 per vegan scoop. I’m not impressed with the separate higher-priced charge for vegan choices, nor with the vibe of attitude in the place from other customers and staff. This place does not give samples or post their hours, and they only accept cash.
