I am always on the lookout for good places to buy Portuguese goods. I was a little let down by the pasteis de nata, they were kinda rubbery. I came towards the end of the day. Maybe came at the wrong time? Have had better at the place over in Ludlow and at places in eastern Mass.

I buy a loaf of your bread every week, I get the homestyle loaf from stop and shop in Norwich Ct. I consistantly get a loaf which has a huge hole in the middle of the loaf which cannot be seen from the outside. This is very annoying, especially as a loaf is now priced at a whopping $6.49. I suggest that when the bread is being kneaded that you try to get all the air out of it. If this continues I will have to stop buying it which I won't be happy about as I like the bread.

The pastries and bread were so yummy. Service is meh and the interior needs a bit of an update. That said, I look forward to going back here next time in am in the area. So good.

If you are a fan of the absolute freshest Portuguese rolls, you must come and buy them directly from this bakery. They are the lightest fluffiest I've ever had and are great for making sandwiches, dipping in chicken soup or stews and for my Thanksgiving stuffing. Idk why, but they're even better than that other place in Ludlow which seem heavier to me. I put my oven in 350, pop them in and then take them out as soon as the oven hits 350. Result is the most perfect flaky crunch on the outside with hot fluffiness on the inside. Add soft butter and you'll be in heaven. At just $2.65 for six rolls, they're worth every penny.

I also must rave about their seeded rye bread. The flavor is perfect and alwsys soft and super fresh.

On 10/17/24 at 4:34pm I called Bernadinos bakery to put an order in for 10 dozen dinner rolls for a party I was catering on 10/25/24. I called back on 10/18/24 at 10:46am to confirm order and add to it. I was assured my order would be ready on the morning of 10/25. The 25th arrived and I sent someone to the bakery 2 hours before the party would start to pick up the order. When my phone rang 15 minutes later I was hesitant to answer because I was very busy. It was a call any caterer would cringe to receive. While picking up the order, it was discovered that the "Dinner Rolls" for 120+ guests had been cut in half. 🤦‍♀️ I asked to speak to a staff member and a girl from the store section got on the phone. I told her there was a huge mistake and they were giving the wrong rolls to my pick-up person. The young lady was so arrogant and condescending. She had a lot of "Oh Well's" and "It Is What It Is" responses. She lacked any trace of empathy, had zero problem solving skills and to be BLUNT, Couldn't give 2 shits. I asked for the owner/manager and was told they were not there. I told her I was going to call back and speak to the owner and she replied "go right ahead". There wasn't one second of the conversation that could have even suggested an attempt at an apology. I instructed my pick-up person to leave the facility and their goods right where they are. In comes Restaurant Depot to save the day. They weren't the rolls requested for this special event but they had wonderful warm rolls to compliment their meal. This family has traditionally bought their breads for "YEARS" at Bernadinos. When I explained the situation and their family member who went to pick-up the order confirmed what transpired, the family was devastated. But, the party went on without "ANY" other glitches and was a great success in spite of Bernadinos. As a caterer, I WILL NEVER order from Bernadinos again! As a shopper, I WILL NEVER buy their products in the stores. And as far as the horrible service I was told to "Go Ahead" and complain about, let me finish this with...."Dear Owner!"

I grew up in this neighborhood, and this was my favorite bakery. I visited today, and the products are still worthy. However, the service and the atmosphere are horrible... I was asked, "What do you need ?" No good morning or hello, how can I help... at the conclusion of the sale, I had to remind the server to say thank you as I am the customer... I'm not sure she cared at all. Rude, and it's sad at the same time... I recommend some customer service etiquette training.

Great bakery that offers everything from fresh baked tortillas to delicious cannolis. I recently discovered this place on a trip to Springfield and will always be making a stop here anytime I’m down in the area.
