My mother and I were on a trip to Chicopee to hear a talk about finding our Polish ancestors. We wanted to enjoy some authentic Polish food while we were in the area, and after looking online, we decided that the restaurant at Pulaski Hall was the place to try. When we arrived, we were disappointed to find out that the restaurant was closed (only open Wed-Friday - I never saw this on any of the reviews, or the web page, etc.). However, the bartender said that we could still get food! I wish I knew her name, she was very nice. I will admit that we were not sure what we were in for - the bartender was our waitress, and apparently cooking the food too? I can't speak of the restaurant, but in the bar we were seated on the other side of a partition, so we were in our own space. The tables and chairs appeared to be newer. There was a smell of varnish, and it looked like maybe the wood had recently been refinished. The floors were clean. I don't think they allow smoking inside, so we did not have to contend with cigarette smell while we ate. When the food came out, it was piping hot, and everything was soooo good. We both had ordered the Polish combination plate - kapusta, galumpki, pierogi, kielbasa, and some fresh rye bread. It was all delicious. Extra points for serving it on a porcelain plate (we thought we were going to get paper or plastic). The flavors were all so fabulous. I wish I could get the recipe for the kapusta - or maybe more of a technique. The cabbage was chopped up fine, and I think there was some carrots, maybe onion? Not sure if there was pork because it was so fine. We both chose the potato and cheese pierogi, and the filling was light and fluffy. Only disappointment was that there was only one! The galumpki was cooked perfectly, and the stuffing had a very subtle seasoning. The kielbasa was probably commercial, but it was also very good. The bread was also store bought, but it was very fresh and flavorful. I joke about another pierogi, but I wouldn't have been able to eat another bite. I finished all my food, but my mother was more moderate and took some of hers home. It was an excellent value. I would go back to Pulaski Hall in a minute - if it didn't take us 90 minutes to get there. We'll have to plan another trip, maybe this time on a Wednesday so that we can enjoy the buffet. Thanks again for letting us have our dinner in the bar, you made our night.

Yesterday, my bestfriend had her 1st baby shower here. I must say, the place is a nice size. We utilize the small hall and it was a great size. The bathrooms are a little old, and 3 out of 6 of the fans with the lights were blown out. There is bar downstairs that has great prices for drinks. I paid $5 for Henny & Cranberry! There was larger hall upstairs as well. We had the hall from 3-7 but was able to stay until Midnight. Its located in a quiet neighborhood and there's a huge parking lot on the right side. I would recommed this place if you're looking for a place that is decent and not too far from Springfield/Holyoke or Hartford/Enfield area.

I had my sons Jack and Jill here. While the hall itself is beautiful and it has so much potential to create a beautiful party, the management is HORRIBLE!!!!!! I cannot tell you enough what a bad experience we had. He complained about us using hot water to wash the dishes...I mean what did he expect us to do, leave them dirty? Using the kitchen was part of our contract. I also much include the kitchen is tiny and not on the same floor as the hall, so you're going up and down a lot of stairs. They don't set up the hall so you have to do that yourself. At the end of the night we had to put the table and chairs away ourselves. He came upstairs and started yelling at our guest that they were doing it wrong. We were so embarrassed. This place cost is $1200 with a return of $200. When I went back to get my deposit he wrote in a few of $150 for using the kitchen, but I had my original receipt clearly showing that wasn't the case. He than tried to sneak out of the hall without returning our money. Even the employees at the bar, plus the patrons there told us how shady and horrible he was...so please do not use this event hall!!!!! I would give this place minus five stars because the manager was so terrible.

It wasn't buffet night but the variety platter was outstanding none the less. The wait staff and manager were super friendly and very welcoming. If your in the mood for Traditional Polish dishes I highly recommend this place. All of the food is freshly prepared each day and cooked to order.

Had the buffet tonight, place was dead, the waitress kept bringing out fresh food. I thought all was good, wish the pirogues had a little brown to em, but good. When I crave polish food I usually order a polish plate to go for $12.... So all you can eat golibmkis for $15... Is worth very penny. Place is a dump, food is good! Oh and strawberry cheese cake or layer cake for desert.

I have to say this was a very pleasant Wednesday evening buffet experience, I wasn't expecting to much but the food turned out to be quite good. The pierogis were really light and flavorful with a choice of two kinds; farmers cheese and potato/onion. The golabki were also very tasty, the cabbage perfectly cooked, very tender, the meat and rice stuffing nicely seasoned. The kapusta was really not that flavorful compared to others I have had over the years, in fact quite bland, no matter that was really the only slight let down on the buffet. If the Polish have an answer to the Swedish meatball with gravy, it sure as heck was in attendance that night. This was one amazing almost Swedish meatball taste alike, size was more like its Italian counter part, large. The flavor was slightly different, no discernible allspice in the mix but it was memorable as was the gravy. Real mashed potatoes accompanied the meatballs. There were slices of corn beef as well to round out the buffet selection. Would I go back you bet, those meatballs, pierogis and golabki were memorable.
