Love love love this place! Was at Martha's Vineyard for my birthday at the end if September and drove to Menemsha to Larsens. Best stuffed clams, quahogs ever. Also had the seaweed salad, stuffed scallops! Can't wait til my time at the Vineyard!

Lunch was a fabulous and yet rustic experience, just what we wanted.

5 stars for the fish market, -5 stars for the refrigerated lobster roll. I ordered 2 lobster rolls, paid for them and then was told they're in that refrigerator. Huh.. in a brain fog I took out 2 plastic wrapped lobster rolls. Why oh why didn't I go back and rescind my order! Not only was the roll soggy but the lobster meat was minced!

Located in Menemsha Bay on the Vineyard, Larsens fish market speaks for itself. For fresh local seafood this is the place. Why were we here? One word, OYSTAHs (oysters) lol. All fresh seafood is at Market price or they have special for oysters, usually dozen for $30. We had half dozen of Katana Bays and Menemsha Spearpoint oysters, both were great but I did prefer Spearpoint. They were so good we decided to order another dozen, this time just Spearpoint. Wife was REALLY HAPPY .

Long long line to order hot food. Then a 15-20 minute wait to get the food. I ordered a hot buttered lobster roll which was delicious but the bun was a bit soggy. The clam chowder was tasty but very thin and milky with too many potatoes and too few clams. The next day we picked up cooked lobsters for a party and they were perfect!

Please be advised when jumping out and ordering the $30 lobster roll, you're getting a very fresh tasting lobster BUT it's a microscopic roll! I asked them to split the roll in half so my wife and I could share. When we got the roll it was on a small size plate covered in foil. I said this is the wrong order, we ordered the lobster roll, they said, yes! That's the roll cut in half. We peeled back the foil to find this microscopic roll cut in two. My half was maybe a two biter and it was gone! Again, very fresh tasting, but this should be called a lobster "tootsie" roll. I promise you, if Larsen's would display the roll out in front and people would be able to see what the roll looked like for $30 before they ordered, many would walk away including myself.

Fish here is so fresh and they make my favorite bluefish pate

Honestly, a little disappointed. The food is fresh, but if you plan to order a cold lobster roll, they are pre made and you get it yourself out of the fridge? We wanted something made to order so we ordered the hot butter lobster roll, almost seems like those are premade also and just put, bun and all, in the microwave. The bun was so soggy it was mush right when we unwrapped it, inedible. We are asked for a fresh roll and transferred the lobster meat into the new roll.To the raw bar side, ordered a dozen oysters, this isn’t anything that larsens did but I just feel like it should be said how large these oyster were, I’m talking filled your mouth and had to chew for a while huge. We also ended up not eating most of them.I remember coming here years ago and it was a really great experience. The past 2 years I just feel like they could do better.

My wife and I both had the lobster bisque. It was amazing, very delicious, very filling Don't miss this place because there's a whole lot more to love. Lots of live lobsters and great fish. This is a wonderful restaurant.

Fantastic place to get fresh fish and feel like you’re buying right off the dock from the fishermen, who’s fishing boats are right out the back door. I’ve had blue fish, flounder, and fish cakes from Larson’s and all have been great. I also love their bluefish pate.

The buttered lobster roll was terrible. Soggy bun. The food that is cooked is pre-prepared and microwaved. It's terrible, the stuffed quahog and stuffed scallop were tasteless. That being said we purchased fresh scallops the day before and prepared them at home and they were delicious. Stay away from the prepared food.

I have a lot of mixed feelings about this place. On the one hand, you have fresh seafood because that is their specialty. On the other, you have a place that overcharges and I even saw a microwave being used to prepare certain foods.I decided to get crab cakes, the stuffed quahog, and the lobster Mac and cheese (this all came to close to $30). Upon reading my order you'd probably say "yea, that checks out" but you'd be wrong. The lobster Mac and cheese, which was clearly the most expensive at $14, came served on a small around 4-6inch paper plate...made with rigatoni noodles. You could maybe fit 15 noodles on the plate with a few pieces of lobster.Overall I am disappointed because I didn't hate it but I shouldn't spend close to $30 and still be hungry afterwards.

Stopped into this well known gem to try out their clam chowder, pretty much a staple on Marth's Vineyard. They were not selling that day even though its on the menu; instead they had fish chowder for more money. I got it, took it to the beach with delight on my mind, only to find the chowder, very thin/watery, lacking great taste, and the fish(?) chunks were rubbery and tasteless. Will never try this again. Hope the Chowder is better, for somebody else's sake, but not mine. Wont be going back for it.In checking with others, it appears the market changed hands recently. Hope you new guys take this to heart.
