Nice clean and neat setting. Service was decent but nothing exceptional. Main dishes were very good, as well as the wine selection. Warm bread and some music in the background would have been nice.

On a business trip in the Concord area and checked out 80 Thoreau. One thing to note is that this place is tricky to find. It looks like it doesn't exist when you get there but it's right next to the eye glass store. It's on the second floor so you need to take a hallway with stairs which is why it was hard to find. Once I did eventually find it, the overall experience was great. This is more of a fine dining restaurant so the prices are expensive, however, the food was amazing. They have a limited menu so it makes it easy to choose and everything was very very fresh. On top of the food, the service was great! The bartender was very very friendly and our waiter was attentive and gave great recommendations! Would recommend trying this place out if you are in the concord area

Well this place sure took a nose dive. Rude and pretentious servers. I didn't feel comfortable ordering or asking any questions because of the servers demeanor and snobby attitude. Hello buddy - I'm paying you - don't be haute. The bar is stingy about the amount of alcohol they give you. The portions are laughably cheap. There's no passion or thought behind the first, second and third courses. The meats and fish certainly weren't fresh. They offered meals a standard home cook could make at home - and much better. It was depressing, and literally and figuratively left a bad taste in my mouth. I guess the honeymoon phase of 80 Thoreau has long been over. Won't ever come back. I advise the waiters to actually be kind and get rid of their attitude.

Although I usually refrain from leaving negative feedback for local businesses, I feel compelled to share my recent experience at 80 Thoreau . Despite being one of my favorite restaurent , my latest visit was unfortunately marred by disappointing service from our waiter.Unfortunately, our waiter failed to meet the basic standards of service throughout our meal. Despite walking by our table multiple times, he never once inquired about the quality of our food or whether we needed anything else, including drinks for the children. Not once !! We even had to raise our hand to get his attention and he seems annoyed . However, the quality of the food and the warm welcome from the host remained as exceptional as ever.Additionally, we experienced a prolonged wait of approximately 50 minutes for our (adult food ) to be served, which was challenging with children in tow. When I sought clarification regarding a charge on our bill, the waiter’s response was unhelpful and curt. Instead of offering an explanation, he simply mentioned that a $10 discount had been applied by the manager, leaving me feeling confused and unsatisfied with the interaction.Despite the undeniable quality of the food, the overall dining experience was overshadowed by the inadequate service provided by our waiter. I sincerely hope that this feedback will encourage improvements in service standards at 80 Thoreau with attention to customer satisfaction, I believe the restaurant has the potential to maintain its status as a beloved establishment in the community.

A lovely and enjoyable evening of drinks/dinner with old friends — we always have an incredible experience at 80 Thoreau, and this night was no different. Great ambience, great food and drink, and great service. We love this restaurant!

Our second visit to 80 Thoreau was definitely not nearly as good as the first. The striped bass was beautifully prepared and tasted very good. However, the short rib was dry, and in an unusual pastry like preparation not described on the menu, the carrot cake for dessert along with coconut ice cream was a very nice pairing. The service was not as warm and inviting as our first visit, but we are willing to try it again.

Delicious food and a nice variety of cocktails. The restaurant has a limited but balanced menu that covers the essentials without overburdening the diner. After starting with a radicchio salad and sunchoke potato soup we got down to dinner. My wife had high praise for the Morrocan lamb dish and the striped bass was delicious, the sauce was killer. We finished up with splitting a carrot cake for dessert, the next time I get my own ;) The service was great, really top notch. More than anything else, the staff that handled our table is what will bring us back.

Pretty cool spot. Really nice ambience. Food was very good for the most part. Careful attention is paid to plating food artistically. My salad and entrée were great. My wife's entrée (short rib) was inedible. Staff was friendly and professional, although no one came to check on us after the main meal was served. Fortunately, they comped that particular dish. Definitely worth checking out.

I ordered the Moroccan Lamb dish and was really looking forward to it. It was lovely, but all of the ingredients listed were not in the dish. No prunes, as promised...no apricots....nothing in the way of fruit that would typically be part of a Moroccan stew. So, though it was tasty, I was disappointed, especially given the cost. The dessert (a hazelnut and chocolate mousse) was fabulous, as were the drinks.

Food was very good and our waiter was lovely. He gave a recommendation for our first course which we were super pleased with. Only downside to the experience was somewhat slow service, but from observation that was not specific to our waiter (at all). The slow service appeared to be the general cadence of the wait staff and manager.

What a delight, elegant and laid back, friendly as all get out, food was terrific, ambiance was wonderful, (who knew a table of younger women could be soooo boisterous!!!) I don't want to tell anyone about 80 Thoreau, which is so selfish of me!! Thank you, our dining experience was memorable!!

We had dinner on Valentines Day. Had never eaten there before. When I booked online through Open Table I had checked out the menu. The confirmation I got back mentioned a fixed price Valentines menu, but I mistakenly assumed the regular menu would be in play as well. It was not. The fixed menu was either three courses for $85 or five courses for (I think) $125. We each chose the three course. Only two choices for apps (mushroom toast or smoked salmon) and two choices for entree (steak or fluke). Only one desert. No, or very little, other description of how each was prepared, or what else (basically nothing but garnish) came with each. . The food was very good, but the portions were very small. With one cocktail each it was $250 for the two of us with tax & 20% tip. Not a good value. I say I would recommend it to a friend for good food, but would warn them not to do a fixed price night and to have a snack before going.

All courses were lovely and perfectly prepared even though a bit meager. Our server was wonderful and very professional. The end dining space would definitely benefit from opaque window treatment! Looking into glaring streetlights above a parking lot is certainly not either elegant nor romantic!
