This place is special. Went for breakfast. Sat outside. Food was delicious. Quality without an ounce of pretension. You know that meal you could once enjoy at that diner that had been around forever? It's here - except instead of that little diner you're in this idyllic colonial setting. It's no wonder we noticed the local regulars seated by us. We will become them as well! Loved the dose of Americana. Can't wait to come back for dinner!
All was good except the dining room had NO air conditioning on a very warm day. Very uncomfortable.
3 of us had lunch on a Sunday. I got the entree special -- grilled swordfish with rice, mango salsa and asparagus. It was cooked perfectly, not too large (but fine for me -- older worman). The 2 younger folk (19 and 20) got the buffet which looked great, but they ate very little. What I did see on their plates looked delicious. Lastly, I am a sucker for the Colonial Inn's Indian Pudding, and it did not disappoint.
Food was very good. Service was excellent at first. Drinks, food came right away. Then a very long wait in getting the check and paying, Inn could use a spruce up. Dirty, windows filthy. Resting on its laurels, tourists, location.
Food was not good. Pot Roast dry. Potatoes not hot. Waiter spilled wine on my husband. Disappointed that I made a reservation and requested porch but had to sit inside while walkups got porch seating
We love the Colonial Inn. Their is something on the menu for everyone, the food is excellent and they don't gauge you on price. It's always quiet enough that you can talk with your guests and not have to shout. The location in downtown Concord is perfect. We frequent this often.
We brought a friend from out of town to the Colonial Inn. He loved the old building, the decorations and the vibe of the 1716 Bar. Then, we sat outside. The service was on point, the food was great and the view of Monument Square was fine. The Yankee Pot Roast and the NY Steak were particularly good. We went for the strawberry cheesecake for dessert which closed out a wonderful dinner.
Awesome restaurant! Excellent ambiance, menu, food preparation, dining rooms. Service and so much more.
Prices a bit dear but enjoyable. Crowded dining room caused busy din for us. Service attentive. Casual yet fine dining experience.
The food and service were excellent. We ate quite early so the restaurant was quiet and cozy. Pot roast and chicken Marsala were excellent!

It was a reunion with dear friends from out west! We enjoyed the ambiance and the warm , attentive service. The food was delicious. A lovely, delightful meal and visit.
This is a review for a dinner and then breakfast experience.
Dinner reservations are strongly encouraged so we made ours for 7:30 pm on a Saturday night. It was very convenient as we were staying at the Inn.
The dining room was filled with wooden tables, but there was no particular ambiance which was fine as we wanted concentration on the food.
Dinner: We ordered the chicken Marsala and the 14 oz NY steak. The steak came with blue cheese like topping with sauteed onions piled on top. While it looked great, that was not the description nor what was ordered. Our server never came back in time to try to correct. The steak was cooked to the requested medium rare and was tender and flavorful. The broccoli was fine, potatoes meh.
The chicken Marsala was moist with a great tasting sauce, and the green beans were fantastic.
The portion sizes were great.
Service was fine and the server was pleasant, but he missed checking in to see if all was ok or if we needed more drinks or anything else until we were more than halfway into the meal. Instead of giving us the check when we asked for take home containers, he gave us the dessert menu. It took way too long to get the check.
Breakfast: only served from 8-10. We were seated right away and provided with waters. It took at least 10 minutes before our order was taken.
We ordered an omelette and a Eggs Benedict with English muffin well done. Both came with crispy potatoes.
It took over 30 mins to get our breakfast. The eggs were over cooked, not even near enough Hollandaise sauce, and muffins were barely browned and not well done. However, crispy potatoes were a hit surprise.
The waitress did come by when we were taking our last bites to ask if all was ok. We asked for the check and our waitress could not be found to pay it. No other staff could cash us out. 10 mins later she is found and tells up that the restaurant does not deal in coins so the bill was rounded up 43 cents-in the restaurants favor. What?!!! She was quite rude about our protestation of this unethical and illegal practice so she threw a dollar back at us.
3.5 stars for food
2 stars for service
-5 stars for illegally rounding up the bill
I would not return.

We walked into this beautiful historic inn and loved being part in a chapter of America. There are two restaurants - The Liberty Room and the Village Forge Tavern. We shared the fresh lump crab cakes - which were super fresh and delicious, as well as the Rueben sandwich. It was plenty for both of us to have half with a cold ale on the side. Highly recommend. Staff very friendly, atmosphere authentic. Had a great time! Would love to go back for an overnight stay.

We stopped in at around lunch time and were pleasantly surprised to have been able to take advantage of their Sunday brunch. The brunch was amazing with so many delicious options. The food options were plentiful and all were absolutely delicious. I highly suggest you make reservations, we did not but were lucky to be able to be seated at the bar area. The service was excellent and the ambiance was really nice. We would definitely go back.

Our family of four was seated on the patio in the late afternoon and we enjoyed the garden scenery in addition to the food. I ordered a special which was a salmon burger, replaced arugula with reg lettuce due to preference. Someone in our party order the lobster roll, which none of us had previously experienced and it was good to note that it was served cold (and this is different than I expected). The salmon burger had great flavor and was surprisingly saucy (sauce was good) but if that’s not your thing ask for it on the side. Sweet potato fries were perfectly crisp on the outside and soft on the inside. The hostess was busy when we got there but accommodating which made us enjoy our time there more!
