We all love the ice cream and candy. However if you haven't had lunch you should definitely give it a try.
Our church youth group had an amazing visit to The Putnam Pantry. They kindly set aside space for our large group and welcomed all 22 of us with friendliness, patience, and great service. The staff was absolutely awesome, accommodating and upbeat from start to finish.
As someone who has long loved the Mayflower sandwich (easily in my top ten of all time), I couldn’t wait to introduce it to our group, and it did not disappoint. Everyone raved about the food, and the energy in the room was pure joy. The youth loved the whole Putnam Pantry experience, from the food to the atmosphere.
This place is more than just a local favorite. It’s a true gem that knows how to make guests feel right at home.
Ice cream and chocolate and candy oh my! Add in a sandwich and patio seating and you’ve got it all! No where else have I seen an ice cream smorgasbord! Handmade chocolates, candy galore and a decent selection of big and yummy sandwiches, pizza and sides like broccoli salad. All within a charming setting in a family owned business dating back to the early 1950s. Sit indoors or out and enjoy the deliciousness and nostalgia.
This was great fun! Bought a lot! Gifts for the Grands!
Make your own sundaes with lots of toppings
They have delicious candy and great sandwiches.
Fun little place to get your sweet fix in
Putnam Pantry in Danvers, Massachusetts, has been a North Shore favorite since 1951. This classic candy shop and ice cream parlor is best known for its legendary Make-Your-Own-Sundae bar—overflowing with toppings, sauces, and whipped cream. Generations of families have made it a go-to stop for homemade chocolates, fudge, and old-school penny candy.
Still family-run, Putnam Pantry blends sweet nostalgia with tradition. Located right on Route 1, it’s a must-visit for anyone with a soft spot for New England treats—and a perfect excuse for a roadside detour.
This place is amazing! We love going to Putnam Pantry! The best Lime Rickeys, homemade chocolate, ice cream, subs and sandwiches and vintage candy. And to top it off, it's owned and run by the sweetest couple, who you can find cooking, baking and sometimes manning the counters. Truly a New England staple -- if you haven't paid a visit to them lately, you should!!
Had the best lunch today at Putnam Pantry! The addition of the Betty Ann’s tuna fish sub is fantastic, along with an ice coffee made the perfect lunch. Great spot to get some work done and have a good meal.
