The server was extremely pleasant, and she was very friendly. Now.. The reason for the 1 star. The food was just plain awful and it took forever for the food to come out. I ordered the broiled haddock with mashed potatoes and it arrived 30 minutes later. I am not sure what kind of fish was put in front of me, but I am 100% sure that it was not haddock, and it wasn't good. The mashed potatoes were terrible as well. The place didn't feel all that clean and the bathrooms were gross. On top of all that, the prices are very high.

Absolutely lovely little place - the two working were so sweet and talkative!
I ordered the fried scallops and some clam chowder - it was amazing!!
Whenever I get to come back up to the area I’ll be sure to stop in again! (:

While portion size is important quality is MORE important.
After cooking for Thanksgiving, a member of my church treated me to a seafood platter.
I was initially in awe about the 40.00 she told me she paid. However when I saw the amount of food I thought it was very fair. Very good portion size
However, the fish was in crumbling pieces and not fresh at all. I eat seafood at least 5 to 6 times a week. I know fresh seafood very well. This was not a fresh seafood plate most items had been frozen including class with bellies...it was just weird for me.

Retro dive. Service was slow and cumbersome. Cash only. Not sure I would stop here again.

This place is an old school, cozy joint. Love the atmosphere, but the food was horrible. Very disappointed... I got a fisherman's plate, scallop plate, and clam chowder. It seems like they improvised the whole menu.
The fries were frozen crinkle cut, gross.
The clam chowder tasted like it was from a can.
And the seafood tasted like it was frozen after being deep fried. They didn't even deep fry it fresh. So disappointed, I really hope they can improve. The place has been around forever, I pray they fix these problems.

Please don’t make the mistake I did and look at the 4 star rating. Everyone who rated this a one is spot on! The lobster roll smelled and tasted spoiled.

Don't pass this place up! It has more character than I have seen in a long time. It's definitely a landmark. Huge portions on the fisherman's platter, onion rings, and more. They have anything you can think of except crab legs. The seafood is fresh and delicious, the service is top notch. Trisha is the sweetest lady I have been served by in a long time. It's southern hospitality right here in Boston. The prices are low considering the portions of homemade love filled meals. Even the tartar sauce is homemade. If I'm ever back in the area, I'm stopping in here. Not many independent landmarks like this around. It even has a soda fountain in it if you want a sundae, frappe, or milkshake for dessert. It sure blew my mind. Seeing the entrance I was skeptical. But it certainly lived up to it's reputation! Come on in and give these folks some love.
Kid-friendliness: Trisha really tried to helpy son feel better by filling his belly with the buffalo strips and making him a double scoop sundae for dessert.

We stopped here on the way to visiting Rhode Island from Maine. It was the perfect pitstop. The waitress, chef, and other customers were extremely friendly and offered us lots of advice on places to visit and see while we were visiting the area.

Yesterday was my very 1st time at Fishermans Reaturant in Dedham. I was quite surprised seeing it from the outside. when I walked in, what a differrnt outlook! The place is so cute! Fish decor everywhere, round vinyl bar stools to sit at the counter, or you can sit at a table! Our waitress, oh my goodness, was she 1of the abSoLute most SWEETEST women I've ever had the pLeasure of taLking to! (i have sucha BAD memory&cant think of her name!) but i do know she's been working there for a while now. She's also a widower. She made the experience of stopping in at a place to get something to eat, MUCH MORE enjoyabLe!(vs.how i feLt when we 1st puLLed up&saw the exterior of the bLdg.)! My friend & I wanted breakfast, & he asked if they served it aLL day, so the waitress asked whomever was back in the kitchen if bfast was stiLL avaiLabLe, &they said "ya sure for you guys!" -which I thought was a HUGEEE PLUS!! cLearLy they DONT serve bfast aLL day Long, but since my friend asked, they said sure! He got pancakes(&of course i had to try one)! Wow, was one of the BEST pancakes I've had in a LONGGGGG TIME! It was so fLuffy, yet had a tiny bit of a crunchy-butter-soaked crust to it! I got 3eggs over medium, bacon, griLLed engLish muffin&homefrys. The entire meaL was so incredibLy deLish & boy did it hit the spot! i will 100% he coming back here again in the future! I suggest this pLace to anyone Looking for a good quick bite to eat!
**OH& it's NOT ALL ONLY SEAFOOD either...I couLd see why someone wouLd think that (because of the name of the restaurant)! They have great stuff, even for peopLe who DONT eat seafood! and i am 1of those peopLe!!!!!**

We had the chowder onion rings for appetizers
Then we had a chicken wrap and meatloaf dinner special. Both were very poorly made.

The food is good and the place looks vintage and clean. What's not to like?
Reminds me of a classic old diner and ice cream shop. The lobster roll was really good and fresh. Not chewy like some you get around here. Clam chowder was super hot and tasty.

Really adorable restaurant with, I assume, a sweet couple running it.
I had a delicious breakfast for $7.50ish, and it was very cozy and friendly.
Fully accessible too.
This feels like a real community gather point, and it made me happy :-).
There is a bar with stools but also tables with chairs.
The menu is expansive and the service is prompt and friendly.
Food is reasonably priced.
Parking is free, but the lot is small.
Wheelchair accessibility: Fully accessible.
