I used to love Star Market but man has it gone down downhill. I can tolerate the store not being stocked, probably hard getting help. But the managers are beyond rude. I understand why nobody would like to work there. I'll shop elsewhere

This out of all the Star Markets I find has the most variety, and the staff have always been helpful to me! Compared to Chestnut hill and West Roxbury, I find the produce better! No bruised fruit, many veggies the other stores don't carry! Salad section is great, Deli is helpful! I love the size and variety I get! I leave West Roxbury and drive a bit further to go to this store!

Went this morning to this Star location around 11:30 am, went to cashier #8 I believe and asked her if I would be able to buy grapes for sales price since I did not have my phone on me for digital coupon. Cashier said yes and that I need to go to service desk. When I went to service desk, the rep there was very rude and said that she would not be able to weigh the grapes because she does not have a scale at the desk. When I returned to cashier # 8 and told her what rep at service desk said, she told me that now I needed to go to line that took a few items. I asked her why she kept sending me to someone else to give me the sales price and I stayed in her line. Then she rang up my item and I had to ask her how much my grapes weighed so I could calculate if I indeed received the sales price. Another rude person, who appeared to be a supervisor or manager said that the cashier would not be able to ring up on my receipt how much the grapes came up to. Overall, three employees I dealt with on a short shopping trip to pick up three items were indifferent and rude. Aweful Star location in terms of customer service!

I recently visited Star Market in Dedham, and I have to say, it's a bit of a mixed bag. I've never had a bad experience with their service, and the food has always seemed fresh. However, I can't help but feel like I'm paying a premium for what essentially amounts to a smaller version of Stop n' Shop.Let's address the elephant in the room: the prices. They're sky-high, and it's evident that Star Market is trying (and failing) to position itself as an upscale supermarket. I get it; everyone wants to be fancy these days, but it's hard to justify the cost when you're essentially getting the same selection and quality as a more reasonably priced competitor. Now, to be fair, every once in a while, I stumble upon some cool specialty products that pique my interest. Most recently, I discovered "Ferloli" hot sauce, which I had never seen elsewhere. It's these little surprises that keep me coming back, hoping to find another hidden gem.In summary, my gripe with Star Market in Dedham isn't about bad service or old food, because they do fine enough in those departments. It's just that their prices make it tough to justify regular shopping here when there are more budget-friendly options in the vicinity. If you're willing to splurge occasionally for a unique find, then this might be the place for you. But if you're on a tight budget, you might want to think twice before filling up your cart here.

I was checking out with a couple buddies of mine and we happened to be in the checkout lane of a young man named Avery Orlando. Avery was such a nice kid and was swift with our checkout process. He greeted us with a charming smile and asked about how we were doing. It almost felt like I was having a conversation with a long time friend. I think that Avery deserves a big time raise for the environment that he had provided us. We have the young man a gracious tip along with an Arizona for the young and hardworking man. Amazing, 11/10 service

I've shopped at this store in the past and had good experiences. Well lit, organized and wide aisles. I asked for a half pound of sliced Boars Head cheese ($11.99/lb). Good product, good brand, premium price. I was a little more than disappointed when I opened the bag today at lunchtime, hoping to put a slice of this cheese on my sandwich. Not one full slice in the bag, just a bunch of bits. I'm not sure how the guy at the deli kept a straight face when he handed me the bag. I don't like throwing away money any more than I liked tossing this bag of unusable bits into the trash. Star Market needs to change their motto to 'pay more, expect less'. Thanks Star Market.

Horrible store. I don't know how the Dedham store manager keeps his job. Weekly advertised items are never in stock. These guys are the kings of bait and switch! So glad there's a BJ's and Stop&Shop close by to shop at.

Update your hours. That's the idea here. If you are closed, tell people. Don't make people drive all the way to the store, if you are closed. Simple.I will never go to Star Market again."Don't DriveUp & Don't Go"

Worst deli department ever especially the assistant deli manager Tery . She is so loud and rude, has no idea how to talk to customers or her own employees. I sat there waiting for over 15 mins I said excuse me could you help me and her response was yeah when I'm ready to. I was the only customer she was busy talking to another employee not in the deli as well as on her phone. I walked away and could her her say good one less white customers to deal with. I did report it to a manager hoping something would be done but went there the other day and she's still there and still loud and rude. I'm done shopping at that star market as long as she is still there. And I've heard the same from many other people some won't go back other won't go to the deli because of her.

I travel here from Brookline to do most of my shopping for my girlfriend and in-laws. The store is very large, always well stocked and very, very clean. The managers and employees are all very professional, courteous and helpful. The checkout girls are always smiling, very kind and caring. Dylan does a super job walking the floor, helping customers and checking on the merchandise, to make sure the shelves are well stocked and that everything is running smoothly. There are a wide variety of items to choose from and the prices are reasonable. Their Deli Department does a great job, the food and pre-packaged items are delicious and the Deli is also very clean. The bakery puts out high quality bakery items, such and their sheet cakes and cup cakes. Oh, and their brownies are superb! The Entenmann's delivery guy also deserves great praise because every time I come in to the store, the Entenmann's bakery rack is always fully stocked and they always have our favorite items. (FYI: On a side note, my father's construction company built Entenmann's 200,000 square foot manufacturing facility in Bay Shore, Long Island, N.Y., back in the late 1970's). And, perhaps, most importantly, I can say, without equivocation, that the meat department at this Star Market location, is as good as it gets. Whenever I call in an order for a specific type of steak, the guys that answer the phone are always very nice, professional and polite. They always cut our steaks "made to order" and the steaks always taste delicious. I have never, ever, had a bad cut of meat from these guys. NEVER. The quality is outstanding and it is well worth the trip from our condo in Brookline to come here for their excellent, choice cuts of beef. Last week, I spoke with their manager, Chuck and personally thanked him for the outstanding job that his department does in providing high quality, delicious steaks. Overall, this Star Market is one the top supermarkets in the Boston area (and I have been to dozens of supermarkets) and I highly recommend this location. You won't be disappointed.

Tried to send western union. Wouldn't accept a military id as verification of my identity even though my phone number matches in your computer. Way to go star market. Won't be shopping here ever again.
