I will say the food taste good, but to pay $19 for a plate to only get 3 pieces of oxtail is crazy that’s just not right.

I order takeout from Murl's when I want a balanced meal with Carribean flavors. The jerk chicken is seasoned beautifully, and they scoop extra of the sauce into the container when I order a plate so I can douse my rice in the deliciousness. The oxtail is always fall-off-the-bone tender and flavorful. The veggies are always seasoned perfectly, and cooked so that they still have a bite to them (never mushy)! The mac and cheese never disappoints. I am always satisfied ordering from here!! <3

Food was disappointing. We drove in from Connecticut for an event and the food dropped the ball completely! We ordered a medium oxtail and jerk chicken plate. Oxtails was small in size for the price and the jerk chicken was dry !!! No jerk sauce, had to come back in and ask for sauce and the jerk sauce tasted horrible .. oxtails were not tender at all, rough in texture and the gravy was dry. Rice and peas wasn’t all that. We are giving them a 2 stars for being open and having food. I don’t live here so I won’t be back regardless but if I’m ever in the area and craving Jamaican food, I’ll look elsewhere. Good luck to this business.

THIS IS A MUST TRY. One of my top 3 favorite comfort food spots. Murl's Kitchen is located in Dorchester,MA. A 20 mile drive from home that I never regret. My favorites are the jerk mac & cheese, regular mac & cheese, jerk chicken, plantains, beef patties, stewed chicken, rice & even their mixed veggies are a big hit. They just recently started selling flavored chicken wings & tenders!! I'll try next time & post an update :) There's no parking lot available just limited off street parking. There's also no seating available inside, but that's okay with me. Place can get packed (& that's how you know it's delicious)! Staff is super friendly too. Just trust me.

Today I came in around 1pm the food was horrible chicken was dry as hell, rice was old and veggies were not good. Mind you I drove from Newton, I come there alot and today it was way off.

I placed an order over the phone with this young rude guy , the young man over the phone informed me that I was unable to place my oxtail mac over the phone I will have to come in I said okay fine and just placed an order for my wings . When I got to the restaurant the same man was at the register and as I asked for the oxtail man n cheese he said to me it will not be done until 3. I asked why he just didn't tell me that over the phone he replied idk . I didn't even want my order anymore .

So happy I found this place! I'm in Cambridge but will definitely be driving in once a month to grab dinner here. Place is clean. Just left with the oxtail mac and cheese and veggie patty. Couldn't finish the Mac so now I have lunch for tomorrow but it was good. ?
I'm visiting from New York and decided to try this place based on the good reviews and they did not disappoint. Ordered takeout...side order of the oxtails which was exceptional along with side orders of the jerk Mac and cheese/jerk chicken and it was awesome. I will definitely be back when I'm in the area.

It has Great food but they need to do better. I ordered oxtail with plantains and they gave me with veggies which I did not order. And they need to at least have two people working in the front, especially during busy times. I waited too long to get my order. I believe having one person is the reason why i didn't get what I ordered. This time their oxtail didn't have the stew. It was try
