I stopped in The Anchor last night for the Buffalo Shrimp, and it's one of the best fried shrimp I've had! I couldn't decide between the chicken gumbo or their frickles, Samantha was definitely a huge help with this, I ended up getting the Frickles and they didn't disappoint.

I had a group visiting the Duxbury area, and called in advance of their arrival. The General Manager helped me. When I asked if he would be able to accommodate a group order order 15 minutes before the restaurant opened, he happily said he would do it. He gave me his phone number and the name of another person at the restaurant who could help me if he was not in the building. He appeared eager to help. When I called the restaurant the day the order was needed, no one answered. Voice messages were left, requesting a call back to place an order. No one ever called back. In the end, the group I had waiting for food had to find and go to another restaurant....a huge inconvenience, and very disappointing outcome after spending so much time to plan the meal at The Anchor. In short, while the food looks original and inviting, I would not recommend trying to order any food from this restaurant as a call in order or to be delivered.

Just one of the greasiest burritos I’ve ever had. It was basically inedible. This place used to be ok for a quick bite if you need last minute take out close to home but won’t be returning after this.

We mostly do take out and the food is very consistent. Staff is always nice. Would love to see some seasonal change to the menu but it is overall a great option.

Good burritos to take out and go to the beach or on the boat. Usually very quick. Limited seating but not usually a wait, although I haven't been there for dinner.

Nice small bar/restaurant with an interesting sandwich menu. I had the Gerry which was steak tips with banana peppers and Swiss on a French roll. It was terrific. The meat was perfectly cooked and the flavors were wonderful.

It was busy and loud when we originally got there. It did quiet down once we were sat. We both went to order drinks only to find out they were out of both of the drinks we were going to order. When we ordered food the meal I was going to order was also out so that was a bummer. Maybe a heads up at the beginning to let us know what you're out of might be nice.

Tried for the first time today 8/13Food was delicious and staff was excellent Leah took really good care answering all of our questions and recommended an appetizer that was delicious. Will definitely come back!We ordered drinks had chicken wings cooked crispy with extra hot sauce chicken and avocado egg roll for appetizers and there ranch sauce is amazing definitely tastes homemade. Hubby had a burger as well special sauce was delicious think gourmet Big Mac for desert was a chocolate chip ice cream sandwich enough for two. We will recommend to friends and family can't wait to come backRestaurant was intimate about seven tables with two bar areas very clean Nice music and staffed.

Very impressed by this tiny spot! My husband and I ended up here after trying to go to their sister restaurant (The Oysterman) around the corner but the wait was too long. I'm glad we discovered this gem instead! We were immediately impressed by the cocktails after our first sips! I got the spicy cucumber martini and my husband got the sweet tea old fashioned. We both commented on how they tasted much better than your average cocktail. You can tell there was a lot of thought and care put into the drink menu. Then we shared a bowl of clam chowder, which was a generous portion size and a larger bowl than expected. It was pretty good; not too thin and not too thick. For my lunch entree, I ordered the fish & chips. They were fantastic! Also a generous portion size, with a lovely thick batter and delicious fries. My husband got the fried chicken sandwich and it was HUGE. I would definitely recommend checking this spot out for at least a cocktail, if nothing else! :)
