This is a gem for many reasons but the view is the most special thing about it. Layer in the fact that the food is delicious as are the drinks, and it makes for a very special place. It’s a great option for gluten free and dairy free restrictions, but you definitely need to like seafood or you won’t be able to eat much. (It is a raw bar after all…) It does have sushi bowls and kids options. The cocktails are incredible, some served over crushed ice which I love and feels like a treat. Great spot for a date or family outing (including the dog) with lots of options for seating. It can get crowded st the height of summer. We usually try to get there right when it opens or an hour or two before close to get a good table. There’s also a really nice indoor seating area with rec room vibes.

It’s a great experience, views that you can only get from there but the mix drinks are all heavily made with a simple syrup that needs to be toned down. A margarita doesn’t need a lot of simple just lime juice and good tequila. The food options are limited but that’s cause this is just the raw bar.

As I sat there, taking in the stunning views of Duxbury Bay, I couldn’t help but feel like I was part of something special. There’s an unmistakable charm in knowing that the clam dip you’re savoring has been passed down through generations. It’s these personal touches that make Island Creek more than just a restaurant—it’s a slice of history served on every plate.

The oysters, each one as fresh as the sea breeze rolling in, were the real stars of the meal. Each bite had the perfect balance of briny, buttery goodness that makes you appreciate the delicate craft behind them. And that seaweed caviar hot dog? A bold and unique twist that captures Island Creek’s innovative spirit. It was an unexpected favorite, offering a gourmet spin on a classic that left me wanting more.

What stood out to me the most, though, was the sense of community. From the friendly staff to the family-owned roots, Island Creek feels less like a restaurant and more like a gathering place for those who appreciate authenticity—in both food and people. It’s the kind of place where you can tell every detail has been thoughtfully considered, from the menu to the environment. They’ve managed to create a warm, inviting atmosphere that pairs perfectly with the fresh, local fare.

In a world where dining out can sometimes feel transactional, Island Creek Raw Bar offers something different—a heartfelt experience rooted in tradition, family, and a genuine love for what they do. If you're looking for a culinary adventure that combines impeccable service, breathtaking scenery, and unforgettable flavors, this little gem in Duxbury should be at the top of your list.

Don’t leave bad reviews often but this was absolutely pathetic tonight. My 2nd time here (no sign you need a table/wristband to order), after waiting again in line to order. Only got the drink, food came by while away from seat-checked in on it told it would be soon. Got another beer that was never delivered either. Out of 1h 15m only managed to get 1 drink out of three easy items

We spent the afternoon here and loved it! The fresh air and natural setting make it a great spot to unwind and grab a snack. The oysters were incredibly fresh, and the lemonade was delicious. The place itself is stunning, and they offer tours for interested visitors. Come check it out, it's beautiful! 🤩

Went here a while back, and the service was good. The oyester are some of the best I've ever had. There was a nice view of the ocean. Good beer selection too!

Great place to have oysters and a cold drink with a beautiful bay view. Bees can be annoying but they’re friendly. Facilities are nice many bench style seating.

Great food and location. But the service model is terrible and prices are high. You need to wait in line to order to start, then you can order from bar, but not from bartenders. You needed to wait for waitress to take order at bar. Took forever to get food and drinks. Guy closing out my bill could not show me the itemized charges. $110 for 4 beers and 2 dozen Oysters seems like a lot.
What exactly is the purpose of leaving a tip when the there is little actual "service"?

Others said they're was a a 10 pct admin charge, but like I said, I never saw an itemized receipt. Not going back.

Edit: I see on the menu now there is a 10 pct service charge to pay the employees who "can't participate in the tip pool"

Such a great experience spending an afternoon with a tour of the Island Creek Oyster Farm. The tour itself was excellent and the individuals conducting the tour have so much knowledge and passion for what they do. Tour aside, the Raw Bar itself is so idyllic - perfect for whiling away a summer afternoon...

Oh my gosh, what a great family friendly place to chill, have a frozen cocktail and some oysters and let the kids play. All while staring out at the bay. Idyllic. Oh ya, phenomenal oysters.

Honestly I was not super impressed by it.

The good:
Awesome views, decent beer selection, if you’re looking for instagram photos then this is your spot. People were also friendly.

The Bad:
Shrimp cocktail- the shrimp was over cooked and chewy. I also wasn’t a fan of the seasoning (Sesame seeds and Nori flakes) tasted pretty fishy. I understand the seasoning is a personal preference. However the shrimp was way over cooked

Jonah Crab Claws- They were overly cold, like almost frozen cold and meat was tough and stringy. Not like normal Jonah crab.

Hot dog- this was purchased because we were still hungry because the food was not great. We got it as a fill in (granted this is not a place to get hotdogs usually), but $5 for a over cooked roller dog, on a bun that was going stale; that was not steamed or grilled is a little steep. It was editable but not something I’d get again.

Overall, views are great I’ll give them that, but everything else considered I would not personally go back.

I’m super bummed. I’ve been going to Island Creek since it was just a food truck. Always bring out of town guests. Come to find out today that the menu has changed to the point of being unrecognizable. Of course the oysters are on point, but the rest of the food was not good. They don’t have any of the old favorites (clam dip? muscles?) and my kid’s hot dog was cold. It’s a beautiful view but if you’re headed down, maybe just get drinks and oysters and don’t expect much more.
